MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF US, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR BUMPS!!!

We are all set to have a peaceful, family-free (apart from just us of course!) Christmas and I am finally feeling better from horrible cold I've had 4 the last 2 weeks so I'm bursting with energy. Hope it lasts!

CD - hope move AND scan went well and let us know as soon as you have a chance to get back on here.

Merrybugmum - hope you stay well.

See you soon for New Year meet-ups!

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 23/12/2006 22:47

Fingers crossed DH makes it through Xmas and is not buried under the patio.

He said he would do the Xmas food shop yesterday, so I gave him my carefully prepared list and he duly went off to the supermarket. However he returned with vital items missing and had ripped up the list and thrown it in the bin at the shops so I had to peice together what we had and what we now needed

He then promised he would be home today to have the kids whilst I redid the shop and went to M & S to get actual Xmas dinner shopping. He then went out last night and did not come home til 2.00pm He did text me to say he was staying at his friends parents house and to be fair he has not seen this friend for two years as he lives in Austria but, regardless, that meant I had to tackle Morrisons and M & S with two kids in tow and being 26 weeks pregnant.

Was not happy bunny. Especially as he got his cobby face on and tried to turn it back on me saying I should have done the shopping before

Hi everyone,
GoodKing at your DH for being so inconsiderate.
Liath, thanks for asking, I am pleased to report the beard has gone, after I pleaded and begged, and then when he said he would shave it off, burst into tears!! Unfortunately so has all his hair...
Anyway, in case I'm not back

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

happy xmas everyone

and happy xmas eve for today! hope everyone is surviving and even managing to enjoy themselves a bit.

We've spent the last 2days in a whirl of cleaning and cooking, but house is finally looking presentable and fridge is full of yummy things. First family guests land here in about an hour!

Not impressed with your dh WCL! Hope he makes up for it over the next couple of days. Can't begin to imagine having to brave the crowds with dc and bump! Well done you for surviving.

Talking of surviving, hope that CD is out there in new-home-bliss putting her feet up with a sherry, rather than new-home-chaos!

Love and festive cheer to everyone else.

EmmymummyChristmasPudTummy · 24/12/2006 09:44

Sexonreindeerlegs · 25/12/2006 10:24

MORNING!!

The day is finally here after weeks of preparation!

Dd was awake a lot of the night with bloody croup! Hey ho. She loved her stocking - the first time we have done one for her.

Anyway, have a lovely day all, get your feet up if you can, and enjoy!

Lots of love xxxx

YvieEinaChristmasCracker · 26/12/2006 08:37

Morning Ladies - Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday and ate loads and got loads of nice prezzies. I can't face going out to the sales tomorrow so I'm wondering aimlessly on the net this am looking for bargains - and I'm starting to realise I can't even be bothered to do that!
Nutty Girl my name is Yvonne Esme, I've lost count of the varying pronunciations of my name (including Avonn - Go Figure?)but i think after you've corrected people a few times and then you don't answer back when they still pronounce your name incorrectly... they get the hint. Unfortunately this advice doesn't help much when your LO won't be able to answer back to begin with....so grrrrrrrrrr to the MIL.

Hollyhormone · 26/12/2006 09:15

Happy Christmas everyone!!
Hope that you all had a fabulous day and I will raise to toast to all mums, bumps and beans for the new year.

zazas · 26/12/2006 09:46

Merry Christmas to you all and bumps!

I hope everyone had a happy and 'relaxing' day??!! I was woken at 2am by a light on in my 8yr old DD's room - when asked what she was doing - she said 'I am reading, you said if I woke up early to not wake you just read!' In reply I told her Christmas would be cancelled if she didn't turn it off and get back to sleep! Grump grump. I then proceeded to lie awake until 5.45am even after a mug of horlicks while the baby twist and turned inside - lovely!

However it was a lovely if tiring day, I have to admit I kept thinking about next year when the bump will be here....

Anyway even though I haven't had a chance to catch up here lately - thinking of you all and our big 2007.

liatHoHoHo · 26/12/2006 15:41

Merry Christmas!!

IKWYM Nuttygirl - I was thinking about next year and what it'll be like with a new addition! Dd had a wonderful day - she learnt two new words - "presents" and "chocolate" . My parents came which helped dilute the MIL effect somewhat. The pair of them helped out from the moment they set foot in the house to when they left half an hour ago while MIL.....sat and watched. She also has this extraordinary abilty to just vanish whenever there is washing up or anything to be done. Only 8 days till she b*ggers off .

I managed to stuff myself silly with the help of a jumbo bottle of gaviscon and it was all delicious. We jus have to plough through the leftovers in time for New Year.

Hope you all had fantastic day too .

liatHoHoHo · 26/12/2006 15:42

Sorry, meant zazas!

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 26/12/2006 17:50

Merry Christmas everyone

We went on a santa steam train with the kids on Xmas Eve which the kids loved. For the first time since DH and I got together we have had our first Xmas on our own, obviously with the kids! It was lovely!

We did cheat and Xmas dinner was courtesy of M & S, saw little point in cooking Xmas dinner with all the trimmings just for us and it was heaven.

The kids had so many presents, not all from us I hasten to add, that we split the booty into two piles and they had a second visit from FC this morning. They were all the more excited because they did not expect that!

A good time was had by all

SparklySnowflakeKid · 27/12/2006 00:36

Hello everyone - hope all having a merry time. Suffering from insomnia and dh snoring so resorted to mn and surfing websites for cute baby stuff!

Midwife in the morning... Should really sleep soon....

Sexonreindeerlegs · 27/12/2006 10:17

Morning all, hope the mw appt goes well ssnk.
I am looking after my midwifes dd this am - she is nearly 2 and very sweet. My dd (3.6) is busy bossing her around! I have to say it is bloody hard work running around and making sure they are not killing each other!
Hope everyone is well. Better go before war breaks out. See you later.

xx

SparklySnowflakeKid · 27/12/2006 12:23

All went well with midwife - have been booked in for my GTT at 28 weeks and she agrees with me that there is no reason for me to have to go to the main hospital to see the consultant (had section with ds1 and vbac with ds2) - which is great news. Have my MATB1 - just need to apply for my maternity allowance now! She thought my squelchy belly button was hilarious...

Taking the boys to see Happy Feet this afternoon which should be fun - if they stay in their seats....

Have a nice day xoxoxoxox

maveta · 27/12/2006 16:05

Merry christmas everyone! Bit belated I know but I have meant to post this last week, it´s just been so busy and, well, you know..
We had a very nice christmas, albeit very quiet and home-y. Tinged with sadness as at a meal we had for my birthday at the beginning of last week a careless friend wandered outside to talk on his phone leaving all the house doors open behind him and letting out one of our beloved cats.
We went out everyday looking for him and calling and calling even putting up posters around the village but he´s gone. After a week of looking, and subsequent nightly upset on not finding him, we´ve decided not to keep looking. Which has been quite sad. He really was the most beautiful cat and most adorable pet so I just hope he is okay, somewhere.
Our other kitty seemed quite scared and upset for a day or so but seems quite unperturbed now, I guess they are solitary creatures really although we like to think they need company.
On happier news, our little one is moving more and more all the time and is making his presence very much felt, i have felt quite sorry for him being subjected to such sad hormones lately so am making an effort to be happier. Think tomorrow I might go cot-shopping with my mum and see what there is.
We were going to do a nursery before he was born but I think we might in the end...
Take care all and have a fantastic New Year although I am sure I will be in again before that. x

Sexonreindeerlegs · 27/12/2006 16:48

Maveta, I was so sorry to hear about your pussy cat. I have 2 cats of my own and cannot bear the thought of anything happening to them. Perhaps he will come back in a day or two - will be thinking of you.
Hope everyone is ok. See you later. xx

YvieEinaChristmasCracker · 27/12/2006 17:10

Maveta sorry to hear about your kitty. You have done all you can possibly do to look for him, and I hope and pray he does come back.

SSK you just reminded me about the MAT B1 form and I had an antenatal check with the Dr this am - DOH!!!!. I completely forgot and my next midwife appointment is not until the 27th jan and I have to tell my company by the 15th - grrrrrrrrrrrrr

YvieEinaChristmasCracker · 27/12/2006 17:34

Q - Does anybody know legally if there are bank holidays that coincide with our maternity leave whether we can get these back from our company as extra day(s) to take another time???

SparklySnowflakeKid · 27/12/2006 17:57

Yvie - you could get your doctor to do your matb1 - doesn't have to be midwife. Don't think bank holidays can be taken in lieu as such - depends on your company policy - some will let you accumulate annual holiday or add it onto your mat leave.

YvieEinaChristmasCracker · 27/12/2006 20:35

Thanks SSK - I'll contact my Dr's tomorrow.
