Hi All.It has taken me yonks to catch up and now i have forgotten what i wanted to say to people.Congrats Yvie on your pink bean and 1b3 i am glad you have sorted things out
Did i read that we can't eat marzipan and icing?
Also can we eat stilton if it is cooked?
MERRY CHRISTMAS.to you all.Hope you have alovely time

SparklySnowflakeKid · 21/12/2006 16:00

Glad all better 1b3.

Its quiet here today...

we1becomes3kings · 21/12/2006 16:15

dooby- I think it is ok if the cheese is cooked as it is the bacteria in it that causes the problems, so if it is cooked it will kill off all the bacteria?

I am sure that there are things that are bad for us to eat, but some of the things that they say not to eat is just being over protective.
Not sure about marzipan or icing sugar I wouldn't have thought that there was to much of a problem there, but I am not expert.

I think everying in moderation is the way to go, I may be wrong!

Sexonreindeerlegs · 21/12/2006 16:50

I don't think I should have eaten parmesan cheese cos it isn't pasteurised, but I have done! Ooops!

I am sure there is a proper list somewhere of what we should and shouldn't have, but I would have thought if it was cooked it would be ok.

we1becomes3kings · 21/12/2006 16:55

I did find a list on MN somewhere but I can't seem to find it again!

SparklySnowflakeKid · 21/12/2006 17:03

I have eaten scallops, mussels, parmesan, proscuttio, carbonara and much more probably shouldn't have! Tonight is curry and wine night too! Think may have balti tonight.

I have just ordered my cotbed and changing unit form babies r us - was half price - and a avent steriliser with breatpump and bits included for £10 off and my mattresses for cotbed and carrycot! Came to less than what was going to pay for cot/changer in a different design - but it is still all white and feeling rather pleased with myself! And delivery is free! Thought as in not much of a rush wouldn't get cross if delivery was crap!

SparklySnowflakeKid · 21/12/2006 17:20

I do try not to eat 'out of bounds' food but sometimes the temptation and craving is just too overpowering and what baby wants, baby gets Have also eaten lots of peanut butter on toast and an awful lot of chocolate which is obviously good as it contains iron...so does champagne LOL!

Sexonreindeerlegs · 21/12/2006 17:24

Wow, SSK you have been busy!! We need to get a few things, but I cannot bear the thought of anything other than xmas shopping at the moment. The shops are so mobbed!!

Sexonreindeerlegs · 21/12/2006 17:25

I am hooked on honey roasted cashew and peanuts, although try not to eat them too often. And peanut butter and jam on toast - yummmy!!!

DecaTheHalls · 21/12/2006 18:06

just popping in to say a quick hello!

1b3- so glad things sorted out well for you with dh.

I've finally done xmas present shopping - hurrah! And dh came with me today to brave tesco and do xmas food shop. So feeling knackered, but glad it's all sorted before the hungry hordes arrive xmas eve. Just need to stop myself eating it before they get here .

Just off to have shower and then out for xmas curry tonight with a youthgroup I help lead.

Hope everyone's doing ok. SSK - can't believe you've ordered all that! Very impressive. All I can think about is xmas shopping. No room in head for anything else! SORL - i thought parmesan was ok and have been woofing it down! Mw is coming in the morning, so gonna ask her! (if I remember. Maybe I need to write that down...)

Anyway, got to dash...

SparklySnowflakeKid · 21/12/2006 19:37

Ordered online - haven't been near any shops for yonks! Have made food shopping list for tomorrow to last til next weds so all under control

Sexonreindeerlegs · 21/12/2006 21:40

Where is everyone??

I am watching animals in the womb - anyone else? It is fascinating! Wish I was a dog - 63 days only of being pg!

Wrapped pressies - so difficult with bump in the way!

Hope everyone is ok, and see you in the morning!

opinionsrus · 21/12/2006 22:14

"Limit alcohol consumption"
Try not to have more than 8 units a week and no more than two units in a day. (A unit = half pint of beer, lager or cider; one glass of wine).

Found this aswell on being pregnant- great news just in time for xmas - I thought the safe limit was 2 units a week hoorah!!

Thats it for me today time for bed !

Hi all

Sorry SSK - forgot to wish you a happy birthday the other day so Happy Belated Birthday.

Congrats Yvie on the pink bean

1b3 - glad to see you're getting a week off from the SS & N

Grr to all the extended family we have to put up with!!! Thought I'd solved the MIL problem but once again it has reared it's head. Last night on phone she told DH that if we call our LO Esme (currently top of the shortlist) that she will pronounce it es-mee as it's too difficult to say es-may . DH rang her back later on to tell her she could bloody well learn to say es-may and she's got 3 1/2 months to practice. (A much more grown up response than my "well in that case our LO will be calling her Old Granny Raison" - she hates to think she's getting older and hates their surname!)

CD- hope the move is going well and not getting too stressful

Sexonreindeerlegs · 22/12/2006 12:06

Bloody mil's! Honestly - they think they are so frigging important in these decisions! Makes me mad!!!

Can't believe we are allowed 8 units of booze a week - that is loads!! I don't drink that much when I am not pg!!

Well, dd is on the mend and is back at preschool today as I am in work. She was so weepy this morning though wehn I dropped her off poor love. Funny, as she has not been "ill" as such, just the spotty face!!

CD, hope your house move is/has gone well. I saw a removals van today and thought of you!

Hope everyone else is well.

Love, SORL xx

MerryBugmum · 22/12/2006 12:50

Just popping in to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays etc. I haven't posted much recently, but have kept up with the reading.

CD - if you are there, hope the scan went well (about now, right?)

Keep your fingers crossed for me: there's a horrid gastro bug about which I feel I might be getting, which of course puts DS at risk of it too, which will ruin Christmas and I have the hoards all coming here!!!! Oh man, I could do without this; I want to weep when I think about Christmas being ruined, as I was so excited about DS and his presents etc. But I don't want to sound like BahHumBugmum...

Hope everyone stays happy and healthy, and here's to a gorgeous 2007,
Bugmum xx

nuttygirl · 22/12/2006 13:41

Glad to hear dd is ok SORL.

Hope you keep well MerryBugmum.

Well I'm off first thing in the morning up to my parents for xmas and new year. Hopefully it won't be too foggy. They don't have internet access so it'll be Jan 1st or 2nd when I'm next on.

MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

2HappyTurtleDoves · 22/12/2006 19:24

Liath - dm told me mil had been... a bit insensitive today. Don't know how secure your email is from dh, just wanted to say if you want to talk via MN, give me a shout xxx
