Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 41sr grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

Pud wrap the string of the bauble around the branch a few times. Slows them down and often stops it coming off at all.

fruitlovingmonkey · 11/12/2015 17:09

Good luck with that Pud Grin
Urgh Pee what a Scrooge! I think it sounds awesome. You're right that there are hardly any preggo friendly festive activities. I spend most winters skiing a lot and drinking variations of mulled wine/ cider/ boozy coffee. Maybe I'll finally get around to making a Christmas wreath this year probably won't.
Your poor dog. A tenner compensation is an insult. I can recommend the furminator brush if you're looking for a replacement.
We have DH's work Xmas do next week. He sort of organises it and it is at a lovely restaurant but he was too busy to choose the menu so he let the secretaries do it and it sounds shit! Wish I'd done it myself instead stamps feet

Jcandy · 11/12/2015 17:13

pud I always have some emergency biscuits in my bag for if im out and about for longer than I thought I'd be!

Pee your dh should definitely try and make more of an effort, especially since he's been able to go to all of his! I still feel guilty that my DP decided not to go to his Christmas party since it was too close to my due date, but it was his decision.

What's up mermaid?

Decided to try and feel for my cervix but couldn't really feel anything, everything just felt squishy, nothing at all like when I was ttc!

Illiria · 11/12/2015 18:01

Thanks all,had a small amount of bleeding last night and some town since then but the dr said it would happen after having the internal scan again yesterday.

Argh to those whose DH haven't reigned in their drinking. DH has agreed not to have too much in my presence and to allow me to smell any whisky he has. Apart from one night he and a friend are going get drunk at the on campus bar to embarrass his students which is highly endorsed by me. Im going to be helping them around the two drinks per night rule that I think is ridiculous.

Pud my childhood cat only needed to be told off once for attacking the tree and he never did it again. My current cat is an idiot that can't figure out that we haven't disappeared if we go to the bathroom. I don't have much hope for him restraining himself near a tree.

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 18:11

Ooh DH has changed the Xmas tree schedule - he's getting it tomorrow instead of Monday yippee 🎄🎄🎄

pretzelpieces · 11/12/2015 18:21

Does anyone else get really disheartened by people with babies telling you how terrible it is?! It's like "please just let me get through this bit!" I'm all for having realistic expectations of parenthood but really I. Just. Need. To. Get through the pregnancy and birth before people start depressing me about the next bit. Xmas Shock

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 18:22

Haha no pretz i am one of them! Soz!

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 18:25

To take your point more seriously.

There's a lot of 'motherhood is wonderful, and natural and it's a pleasure to sacrifice myself to it' propaganda out there, and if you don't feel like that 100% of the time it can start to get you down. Of course no one feels like that all the time, it'd be weird, so I think the 'babies are hard' brigade are more about keeping expectations real. And pressure off women.

There's certainly no denying that there must be some good points, otherwise there'd be no siblings Smile

pretzelpieces · 11/12/2015 18:29

That makes sense. So I just need to say it means "it's okay if you find it really hard". But I guess at the moment I just need to go okay I'm already finding it hard so one thing at a time!

We're getting kebabs for tea so that makes everything else alright anyway.

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 18:34

I do understand how it's annoying pretz, because a lot of people are determined to share their experiences in such a way that it feels like they expect your experience to be exactly the same.

TBH when I was pregnant with DS I don't think I heard anything anybody said, I was quite happy to live in my bubble until I got there myself. Worked for me, but I still had my own demons in despite also having no expectations

Mermaid36 · 11/12/2015 18:54

candy just a slightly shit day at work....There was the usual banter, but someone took it a bit too far today, and I got annoyed and they couldn't work out why...

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 19:07

My v organised HV called this evening too - she's coming to see us on NYE. Same one I saw mostly with DS so that should be nice.

oneyorkshirepud · 11/12/2015 19:38

That is v organised Thurs but nice that you get someone you know. Do HVS normally come to say hello before baby arrives? I think we are under mw care for 10 to 28 days after baby depending on what we need so I didn't think I would meet HV until after that. Probably one of those things that are different in different areas?

Sorry that you has a rubbish day at work Mermaid. The chocolate box is open here if you would like one? You might want to be quick though as there are only 3 left

I ordered a massively craft nerdy device from eBay today - loads of coloured plastic press studs and a set of plier things so I can just stamp them into clothes and off we go - also waiting for a baby gro pattern to arrive, then I can make loads of embarrassing adorable outfits for baby. Yippeeeeeee!!!

fruitlovingmonkey · 11/12/2015 20:03

That's lovely pud, your baby will be so cute in its homemade outfits.
Pretz I agree, those people are annoying, but I think the absolute worst are those who have multiple kids and say "I can't believe I thought one baby was difficult, wait until you have a toddler AND a baby, blah blah blah." Just bloody well let me have this baby first and see how that goes. Can you tell I've been hanging out with the overpopulating the world in laws?!
Enjoy your kebab!
Star for your DH ill!

CarrotPuff · 11/12/2015 22:01

Oh god, I survived today... DS was on his worst behaviour, non stop whining, constant drama and tantrums Confused I'm off to sniff some wine..

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 22:05

Ah you had one of those today too carrot? Mine was a horror also

MollyBloomYes · 11/12/2015 22:10

Ooh mine too! Friend of mine reckons hers has chicken pox. Are you fucking kidding me?! I'm all for getting the pox out the way nice and early but now? Seriously?! Hopefully just a stinky cold!

In other news my nipples are killing me. Proper first trimester sore nipples. What fresh hell is this?

ThursdayLastWeek · 11/12/2015 22:40

Oh a friend of mine is worried her baby might have chicken pox too molly. I offered to sit in with the baby and he riddler while she has an appointment next week - does anyone know the rules re; pregnant and chicken pox?

I don't know if I've had CP, but I know for sure I had shingles as a kid. It's very confusing.

Illiria · 12/12/2015 03:40

To be fair DH is awful when it comes to food, eating everything I can't and eating stuff that makes me retch even when not knocked up. I hate pate :-(

Carrot Wine

Molly - argh evil nips

5hell · 12/12/2015 07:20

thurs I think pg women who haven't had cp should avoid it, but I don't think u can have shingles without having had cp, so u should be OK :)

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/12/2015 07:41

Morning all, I'm determined to get around parkrun today - don't worry I shall be taking it very very easily!

Thank 5hell I knew there was some link between cp and shingles, but I was t sure what it was. What you said confirmed by NHS website so that's all good Smile

How's yer nips today molly?

I'm excited like a big kid coz we're putting our tree up today 🎄
Then lucky lucky DH is going away for the night for a friends surprise birthday party, and DS and I are going to a winter outdoor theatre performance with some friends this evening that should be really cool.

Anyways, time to get out of bed, have a lovely weekend all.
