I like the red, dp is the one being all 'it has to match' and considering it's the first time in the 5 years I've known him he's had a real passion for something I'm letting him win haha!
Expecting a quiet day at work today so online shopping to see what deals are around - spotted the black perfect prep on amazon too!

Gingerlady123 · 27/11/2015 08:56

Morning.
Phoned doctors surgery. They wouldn't let me actually see the nurse. Just send hand in a sample their dip test and ring back if positive for infection. Great! So I can't even talk to anyone to ask about what else it could be/ease my worries. I said I was pregnant and very anxious she said this is the prodecruce if you suspect a water infection. So we can self diagnose can we? What about if it comes back negative for someone but the symptoms are for something else then what. Maybe I'm just being silly but it made me angry. Am I being stupid?
Anyway if I've not heard back this afternoon I'll phone them just to confirm it was negative.
Faux- glad your day was a good one. This time two years ago I was in nyc on holiday for thanksgiving I loved it. The Black Friday shopping their though was something else all together. Hope the 25 week baby in your other group is doing well.
Marmite- sorry your not feeling good and struggling with sleep as well and your daughter. Hope today is ok for you though

Gingerlady123 · 27/11/2015 08:56

Anyone heard from beautiful? I was also thinking I wonder how she is yesterday

vroc81 · 27/11/2015 09:46

Me I got that when it was on the other day! We have bought a red and black pram although I think when the car seat is attached its all black anyway but I thought it was a good deal.. Its arrived and looks really nice. Also got a monitor and some other bits on Amazon... Used my free prime trial so have been getting it all delivered free which is handy. The only problem is the amount of stuff now adding to the great decorating mess!!

vroc81 · 27/11/2015 10:05

Ginger see what the results say and then perhaps ring them again and ask to speak to someone or could you ring your midwife to get round it that way? They might be able to push for you to speak to someone?

Marmite sorry you are feeling rough, my cough is still bugging me at night and its just rubbish so hope you are felling better soon!

neh205 · 27/11/2015 11:29

Hello everyone!

Has taken me forever to catch up with the new thread!

So glad flump has stayed put.

beautiful I'm having my bloods tested today re itching as its been driving me mad! Not pleasant at all!

Going back to bsby monitors which Motorola one is it? OH has just looked and there seen to be 5 of that brand.

Anyone picking up good deals in black Friday? I'm not sure where to start at the moment ! With Xmas, new house, baby and wedding all on the horizon I'm not sure what to spend on first :p

Welcome stranger think your due date is near to me. Did you say 26th? I'm 25th.

ginger hope you find something that helps. Podcasts and reading apart from.anything can be a good way of diverting attention.

Does anyone recommend any baby or parenting books?

We aren't sure what we are up to this Xmas as waiting to hear when everything goes through on new house. Fingers crossed it'll be soon!

TheMshipIsBack · 27/11/2015 11:43

neh A decent reference book like "what to expect the first year" is nice to have but I wouldn't bother with anything else and tbh most of that info is on places like babycentre.co.uk. I guarantee your baby will not have read any books and most of the time it's quicker and easier to just talk to other mums and your health visitor or GP. For parenting from toddlers on, "how to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk" is amazing and almost everyone recommends it.

I've picked up a couple of accessories for the BJCM stroller in the sales, and a second monitor, just a basic audio one, for while baby is in our room. We still use the old one for DS so we can keep an ear on what he's up to during 'quiet' time in his room.

I saw Beautiful had a thread somewhere else about her DH moving back in with the family. Sounds like she has a lot on her plate but I'm sure she'll be back here soon!

Me624 · 27/11/2015 12:07

vroc we have Prime anyway, it's great isn't it!

The Motorola monitor we bought is MBP853. Not too sure on the differences between the different models tbh, DH is the techy one and he told me that was the one to go for!

vroc81 · 27/11/2015 12:18

Just bought two Christmas presents for DH on Amazon and he really doesnt need anymore.. Make me step away from Amazon someone!!!!!

MShip is BJCM short for baby jogger and if so where are these accessories - we have a just bought a new off ebay Baby Jogger but they don't come with a lot!

TheMshipIsBack · 27/11/2015 12:26

vroc BJCM is indeed Baby Jogger City Mini. We've had a 3-wheeler in teal for a couple of years and I adore it. It's been stowed in its travel bag since DS turned 3 and we realized it wasn't being used anymore. The deluxe carrycot in teal is price-matched at John Lewis today, so I picked up that, the tray attachment, and the Maxi-Cosi car seat adaptors. We'd had a massive travel system for DS originally, which we sold on, so I didn't have any of those things for the BJCM. I'd thought initially to not bother with the carrycot and just use the car seat, but DH said as we weren't doing a Moses basket this time it'd be handy for downstairs naps, and it's better for baby to lie flat anyway.

The Britax Evolva 123 car seat in red is going on sale on amazon tomorrow morning, I'll definitely be up early to try and snag one.

Rosieblossom123 · 27/11/2015 12:29

I finally bought the tommee tippee perfect prep in black fo £54.99 I'm so happy can't believe it Grin might have bought some other stuff too Blush

Rosieblossom123 · 27/11/2015 12:32

vroc when is your dh's bday, mine is on the 22nd and I can't stop spending money on Amazon!!

QforCucumber · 27/11/2015 12:49

luckily I had already bought dp's birthday presents before all these sales (his is 10th December)

My birthday coming up this Sunday, off for a meal tonight so hoping for something nice and indulgent Smile

rosie glad you managed to get your machine in black, bet you're over the moon with it.

vroc81 · 27/11/2015 12:58

Rosie Good buy, when recently visiting a friend and their newborn, her DH took mine into the kitchen to demonstrate the perfect prep because he was soo please with it, I thought about it but thought I better wait and see how it all goes first..

My DHs birthday is in May, I might bury a couple of things in the drawer until then..

MShip thanks will have a look on the JL website, we got the carrycot with the BJCM, I wasn't going to bother otherwise but like you will probably keep it downstairs to use..

Q hope you have a good birthday and enjoy your meal this evening!

Rosieblossom123 · 27/11/2015 13:10

Q I am, seriously I've been waiting for ages and couldn't justify spending £112 on it haha
You're so organised, I only started buying his presents today, i find it so hard to buy xmas and bday presents at the same time :(
Enjoy your meal this evening :)

vroc my friend just bought one and said the night feeds are so much easier because of it, I think I like the fact that the bottle is ready in 2 mins and no worrying about cooling it down or anything.
You've still got a few months to buy stuff lucky you :)

gemsparkle84 · 27/11/2015 15:06

Faux I hope the 25 weeker in your group continues to do really well...

Yes I saw the deal for the perfect prep but cheapest I saw was £60 at Boots, I thought that was good but wow £54.99 is a fab purchase. I'm the same not quite ready to concide just yet to the bottle! It was very tempting though!

Happy shopping everyone!

Rosieblossom123 · 27/11/2015 15:22

gem I bought it dead on 7:30 and 10 minutes later it was sold out Shock

gemsparkle84 · 27/11/2015 15:50

I like your style **Rosie!!!

Strangertides1 · 27/11/2015 16:03

Hi all, speaking of prep machines.... So we are due number 3 in March, this one will be formula fed. With my other two I used ready made cartons but this time I want to use powder formula. My question is now do you do night feeds without 101 trips to the kitchen? Use a flask of boiled water? Or transfer cooled water in bottles from the fridge to a cool bag, add powder and reheat? Help, feeling clueless on this.

MyNameIsSuz · 27/11/2015 16:09

You're all doing so well with your purchases! I've been proper useless. Have finally bought a few Christmas presents though.

Dh's list for new baby purchases includes a new Xbox! We don't need a lot this time as we have most things, so he might be in luck. When ds was tiny he hated to be put down, I'd spend the evenings feeding and go to bed straight after dinner, then he'd snooze on dh's chest and be brought in for feeds - Dh would stay up like this playing Xbox until the small hours then bring him in for the remainder of the night. Worked for us, and I think he's assuming the same again.

I had a bad night too marmite, and sympathise about your dd. Ds has had two different illnesses the last couple of weeks and it's disrupted his sleep. Back to normal now but it's me! I had a really horrible dream last night, someone wanted to buy my baby so I had it aborted to give to her Sad it was really awful and I woke up all unsettled and couldn't get back to sleep.

BeautifulLiar · 27/11/2015 16:12

Heyyy!!

Oh crikey, I've missed a lot and had you worried Wink missed you guys!

I've had a good week, forgot I was pregnant though, so much going on with the other DC!

MShip - wish I'd never bloody posted that Relationship thread. I forgot the majority of posters there hate all men! Just wanted a bit of advice on the rent situ - never mind!

I got a Motorola video monitor for £56 on Amazon last week. The screen is small but I love it. Can't believe I never had one before!!

Neh - glad you're getting tested and fx all is fine. My results came back all good, but I'm still really itchy! :(

Me and DD got back from the hospital at midnight last Friday - it was horrible for her having all these tests but I think she's learnt her lesson!!

Cucumber - you got any birthday plans? :)

Right, now to catch up on 6 pages you gobby lot!

ffauxlivia · 27/11/2015 16:27

Mship I am actually looking at the BJCM right now as it's on sale on Amazon (over here in US) for $175 which is about £120!! Should I go for it? We live in a 3rd floor apartment with no lift so it's the lightweight aspect which most appeals, and I've read a lot of good reviews. I love the teal colour - is it too boy-like for a girl or could we get away with it?

Hubby is paranoid it's too early to buy this stuff at 23 weeks so don't know what to do :/

ffauxlivia · 27/11/2015 16:29

beautiful nice to have you back! It's safe here - try us with your relationship/rent questions and we'll be supportive I promise :)

ffauxlivia · 27/11/2015 16:31

suz that's a horrible dream :( pregnancy does some weird things to our heads. Hope you're feeling okay now!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 27/11/2015 16:31

Yay hi beaut glad everything is ok Smile

Haven't done any shopping but this being number 2 and another girl I don't feel the need to! May get some clothes in the Jan sales though. I also want to get a buggy board for DD but they don't seem to be on sale on the mama and papas website.

So me and DP were planning on getting married before DD2 arrives. Actually DP isn't that bothered but I kind of think legally we prob should bite the bulllet and do it. Although I'm the breadwinner in our household so im not sure how much I need marriage as such. Anyway thought screw it, lets just get it done. As may have been obvious from my previous posts, we're not into weddings so just gonna do a registry office thing with two witnesses. Rang up to book my local registry office today and the first appointment they have for their cheap room (£45) is 23rd Feb! Er, not gonna work! All the other registry offices round here are much more expensive so I think we'll do something in May and work something out with having a tiny baby at the ceremony...
