If you're looking to buy a pushchair or travel system from Mothercare, they're throwing in a Cybex Aton infant car seat (£120 RRP) if you order one this week.

Me624 · 25/11/2015 15:07

I'm hoping there will be some good baby deals on Amazon on Friday for Black Friday. They have the Tommee TIppee perfect prep machine on today for £54.99 - I was tempted as lots of people have recommended it to me but I feel like buying it in advance means I won't give bfing a proper shot so going to leave it!

QforCucumber · 25/11/2015 15:30

I have just looked at amazon to see what's about, and purchased a gel nail kit and lamp etc instead of baby things - oops, shouldn't be allowed on that site!

I blame you all.

Crispylicious · 25/11/2015 16:46

maybe I woke up screaming at 5.30am with a horrific leg cramp! My leg still really hurts today due to the cramp. I had a phase of this last pregnancy... Really hope it doesn't continue for long. Was also woken twice by horrific indigestion and have back ache! Being pregnant is hard!

Naughty q!

Hope those with nasty colds are feeling better.

Rosieblossom123 · 25/11/2015 16:48

Me I was just about to buy it Shock dp stopped me though he wants the black one because we bought the black steriliser, he wants them to match. He said to wait until friday to see if they go down more if not I'll just buy the white one, I'm so excited Grin

MyNameIsSuz · 25/11/2015 17:05

Nice bump pics everyone! Mine is huge, but weirdly looks completely different in real life to how it looks in photos - it's really low down! I think my stomach muscles may have separated already, when I bend down my bump goes pointy vertically...

Another starving one today, feeling enormous too (those meaty arms!!!). I went to an antenatal exercise class last night, it was great but I'm really feeling it today! By the end of the day I was struggling to get out of my chair!

Have also had night time leg cramps in my calves, I sympathise, it's horrible isn't it. I woke up in the night and couldn't sleep for worrying about work - decision made, I'm definitely taking that extra week and finishing on the 19th Feb!

I haven't been baby shopping, but did buy myself something to wear for casual Christmas things, Christmas lunch, afternoon parties and the like. Got a suedey skirt in h&m, and they had a maternity Christmas jumper on the website!!! White with a sequin robin. Obviously I bought it, I'm sure they're probably on the way out these days but still pretty much compulsory at our work lunch and various friends' Christmas parties. Thought I'd spread the word in case anyone else is looking Smile

Had my 25 week appointment, was fine! Dh managed to make it back from work in time which was nice, first midwife appointment he's come to so first time he's heard the heartbeat. Baby had hiccups! My bump is measuring bang on, 25cm, and everything else is fine.

One interesting thing is I asked her about hospital tours and apparently my hospital doesn't do them anymore. I also thought you could choose between the midwife led birthing centre and the labour ward (as long as you are straightforward) but she told me that actually a lot of the time you have no choice and have to go to the labour ward because they can't staff the birthing centre! Bit pointless even having it there then ...

dobbythedoggy · 25/11/2015 19:29

Endured the gtt (glucose tollerance test) this morning, has left me feeling really sicky all day. Snatched an hour of sleep in bed this afternoon which helped me feel a little more human. But my mouth and breath still taste horriably sweet. I did get to sit a read a few magazines in the waiting room between the two blood tests in inunterupted peace which was lovely. The nurse who did my blood tests was a mum from one of our toddler groups who hadn't realised I was pregnant yet.

me our local hospital hasn't done tours for years, the labour ward is just too busy to accomidate them. But do show more nervous mums to be around if you kick up a bit of a fuss, I was given one when I got so stressed by the prospect of a c-section with dd. They do have an online tour which does give a good portrail of what is actually avaliable at the hospital. Although the day room on the post natal ward is still 'temporarly' being used as an extra 4 bed bay, 3 years on.

RhubarbAndMustard · 25/11/2015 19:40

Am feeling a bit emotional and shaky after a deer ran into my car!! Managed to miss the first one that ran across in front of me but the second one went straight into the side with a massive bang. I couldn't even stop as nowhere to pull over and a car right behind me. Have reported to the police but that poor deer! Was in tears when I picked DS up from nursery. Sad

marmiteandcheeseplease · 25/11/2015 19:59

Christ rhubarb that sounds really upsetting/scary. Hope you're ok Flowers

IndomitabIe · 25/11/2015 19:59

You poor thing, Rhu. And poor deer. You need a stiff... cup of tea! BrewChocolate

ffauxlivia · 25/11/2015 20:11

dobby sounds horrible - well done for getting through it! When do you get results?

love the bump pictures, it's incredible how different we can all look - as they say no pregnancy is alike!

Can I have some honest opinions on the name Seren for a little girl? It's welsh for 'star' - I'm welsh and husband works in astrophysics so it's the closest we've come to agreeing on something! Even though he's not totally sold - he thinks there are no cute nicknames for it :/ It's a top 10 name in Wales but we're unlikely to live there in the future

DH likes Maggie so he can sing her lots of songs with Maggie in the title(!), but I just can't get past the Margaret Thatcher connection, even though anyone who even remotely knows us would know we had not named our daughter after her Grin

shieldbug · 25/11/2015 20:12

Finally caught up! I've been really busy with dh b'day, ds1s b'day party, bils b'day and general stuff.

Missi only just found out about you and flump. Am thinking of you and praying for you. I'm hoping no recent news doesn't mean flump is making an appearance.

rhubarb what a horrid shock. Hope you are ok.

I love seeing all your bump pictures. I will try to get one posted of my mahoosive protuberance.

Bad news maybe; leg cramps can be really frequent. I wake up most mornings with cramp and sometimes in the night too. I think so people are more prone to it than others.

beautiful any news from the blood tests? Hope you are ok and the itching is nothing serious.

shieldbug · 25/11/2015 20:15

Sorry, missed your post livia; I personally like Seren, and it's especially nice with the Welsh and astrophysics connection.

We are thinking Charis for a girl (Ancient Greek for Grace); what do you all think?

ffauxlivia · 25/11/2015 20:15

oh rhubarb didn't see your post - oh my gosh you poor thing! Hope you are okay, I would be completely shaken up too. I hope lots of hugs from DS and tea and chocolate help!

Gingerlady123 · 25/11/2015 20:25

Missi- I'm hoping no news is good news. Hope your ok

Rhubarb- that sounds terrifying. Hope your ok.

To those suffering leg cramps you have my sympathy. Hope it doesn't get to bad for you.

Very anxious here tonight. Toilet three times during the night last night and today I've been at these times
6:30am
9:30am
12:30pm
3:30pm
6:00pm
7:30pm
8:10pm

After the 7:30 one I felt the urge to go straight away. All I've drunk today is some apple juice, a bit of water, two small hot chocs and a tea.

I had my urine tested last week but she said if the frequency kept up to go back. I'm thinking of trying Friday afternoon after work and if not phoning in Monday from work and seeing gp then. Even though I have midwife Thursday but I'm terrified of premature labour. I'm convinced it will happen to me .

Thanks for the reminder that they can't discriminate because of my sickness if it's pregnancy. I had forgotten about that. Makes me feel more at ease.

Me624 · 25/11/2015 20:31

Ginger you probably need to go more because you're so anxious about it! If they've tested you and there's no infection then try and relax.

Rhubarb that's horrible, poor deer and poor you Sad did it damage your car?

ffaux I know a Seren, I think it's a lovely name.

dobby the midwife has given me a DVD which has a virtual "tour"! I'm not feeling nervous really (yet) so don't really need to see it, just would have been nice if it was an option.

Paperblank · 25/11/2015 20:35

Rhubarb that must have been so scary, you feeling okay now?

dobby GTT is horrible but hopefully you'll be okay, fingers crossed.

suz I am after a new Christmas Jumper will check H & M out. The for the tip Smile

ffaux Seren is gorgeous!! Star beautiful name.

For some reason my back is really achy today, just ran a bath to have a soak and see if that helps and there's no bloody hot water Sad am feeling very sorry for myself now.

TriJo · 25/11/2015 20:41

ffaux Another fan of Seren here - very cute :)

ThePug · 25/11/2015 20:51

Just dipping in quickly but Ginger have you had your blood sugar levels checked? You're drinking lots of sugary things (apple juice & hot choc) so if there's a possibility you've developed GD drinking these things will be making your blood sugar higher and thus causing you to wee a lot more!

And rhubarb poor you. Hope you've managed to calm down now and that your car isn't damaged.

IndomitabIe · 25/11/2015 21:01

Ffaux I love Seren!

Ginger I'm not even being facetious when I say that I'm pretty sure my DH goes that often, if not more! From a cross the internet I think it's more likely to be a symptom of your anxiety than anything else - something you've fixated on and become more conscious of. However, this doesn't mean you should ignore it. Of course you should still get it checked.

Oh Paper, that would have given me the rage! Poor you!

Ooh, good point ThePug, but wouldn't that have shown up on her urine dips already?

IndomitabIe · 25/11/2015 21:02

*across (no idea what happened there)

Gingerlady123 · 25/11/2015 21:02

I haven't had my blood sugar checked but I will ask my midwife next Thursday about it. I think it's because I find water makes me throw up most of the time.
Is it harmful to baby if left for a week?
Sometimes I have to forget I'm pregnant as it's causing me so much stress.

I sound really silly though don't I? I feel like I sound stupid worrying about every little thing.

Paper- hope your back is better soon. I had back back pain for a few days and it did ease up

Gingerlady123 · 25/11/2015 21:04

Thanks indom. I do become fixated on everything, once it's in my head I can't get it out, I've always been the same- one symptom of something and I have it. It's ridiculous but I don't know how to stop.
I will check with midwife next week though.

RhubarbAndMustard · 25/11/2015 21:06

Thanks everyone. Feeling calmer now after a large mug of tea and hugs from DP and DS. Surprisingly no damage to the car despite the loud bang. Just hope the deer was only stunned and not injured.

Ff Seren is a beautiful name and like Charis too *Shield.

Ginger* I wee quite a lot too but have always had a small bladder. I find if I'm thinking about it I always need to go more!

No leg cramps for me yet but did get them when pregnant with DS. Soooo painful! Dreading them returning. I made sure I did calf stretches every night before bed.
