I know jelly I'm 35 weeks today - genuinely feel like a whale. The thought of getting bigger & more uncomfy over the next possibly 7 weeks is not good! Plus I'm still freaking out about giant baby who was apparently 5lb at scan at beginning of month- God knows what she weighs now!

MaisieDotes · 27/12/2015 19:10

Ohh- glad to hear brummie's baby has arrived safe and well! Fantastic news.

haquoi123 · 27/12/2015 20:43

Oh absolutely brilliant news for brummie!

Yeah, I'm starting to feel large in that belly-interfering-with-movement way and I'm 'only' 32 weeks. At least I know it's only going to be another 7 tops.

If it is Brummie then that's wonderful news Flowers to her!

madsaz76 · 27/12/2015 21:09

officially sulking now

work colleagues got me gift cards - babies r us and boots.

turns out you can't order online at boots and pay with a card - so the only way I can get the travel cot I really really want is to go into a store, which is my idea of pregnant waddling hell.

There's no way the colleagues will have realised & have that itchy palms feeling of wanting to get the item I have seen before it sells out. Sulky sulky madsaz Sad

MaisieDotes · 27/12/2015 21:49

I went to the sales today with DD- it was waddling hell actually madsaz now that you mention it!

I wouldn't normally be so foolish but I just wanted some one to one time with DD, it might be the last time before this baby comes that we have a day out just the two of us.

Luckily she wanted to be home to go to the local cinema at 4pm so we were really only out for 3 hours and I think it was my limit!

Mawsymoo · 27/12/2015 22:04

Aw welcome baby brummie - my love to mum and baby!

I'm heading to the sales in the morning - I'm going to a shopping centre early though and hoping to be out before the crowds get bad. I just want to get some casual clothes and runners for maternity leave and all the walking around I'll be doing as most of my clothes are "worky". I'm looking forward to getting a couple of hours out of the house by myself!

Mawsymoo · 27/12/2015 22:05

By runners I mean trainers by the way! Forgetting my audience here!

madsaz76 · 27/12/2015 22:19

I am dying to get back into my runners Smile

Rufus200 · 27/12/2015 23:27

Congrats brummie

I've done all the baby's sheets. Incase anyone hasn't bought theirs yet, I did 3 different brands in the same wash.

1st place by a long way is John Lewis, thick and soft with good elastic
2nd is Zara Home
3rd is Clair de Lune, which feel very thin and scratchy now they have been washed, rubbish elastic and are definitely in bottom place! Wish I had just bought all John Lewis now.

I've just borrowed DH's Amazon prime account and signed up for free to family and got loads off some of the bits I still needed. Going to have to go out and go shopping at some point to get the rest.

birdbrain21 · 28/12/2015 09:27

I get confused with mumsnet names over on the fCebook group but pretty sure it's brummie who had her baby just before Christmas so that's the first one down!
I'm due on the 25th of January but sure there was one person on the 24th although I'm a bit worried they may induce me at 37 weeks because my platelets havr dropped massively. I have an appointment next weeek with the senior haematologist to discuss a plan. I though it would be straight forward induction as I'll be 37 weeks on Monday but having done some research online I've found an article written by her mentioning some steroids that might help so will have to wait and see. Either way been panicking amd getting organised just incase I am induced next week!
With dd we bought everything in the winter sales but was only 5 months so went to tje shops I've been doing shopping online this time as too diff to go shopping and my declarations of only needing a couple of bits this time has turned into a very expensive online shopBlush each bit only cost a couple of quid but it all adds up amd because it's being delivered so I know there's no bags to schlep around the shops bought lots of stuff I probably didn't need to!

haquoi123 · 28/12/2015 11:25

Anyone know where the best winter sales are? We still need our car seat but can't find any lower prices Confused. I need to get sorting asap as well, I've no idea what gaps I need to plug.

birdbrain fingers crossed for you!

Not seeing loads of bargains as such but have got a travel cot (we'll have to go to see irish family early) & a high chair thing that lasts to proper toddler.

The risk is the small bits - they just seem so alluring and I am starting to accumulate too despite my protestations that I am not buying a lot. But it's all cute and fluffy....

Rufus200 · 28/12/2015 16:07

I'm finding that online is best as different companies are discounting different items. Went to mothercare and it was hell! Full of people, hardly anything discounted! Got some vests at 50% off but so wasn't worth going for. Everywhere I've been today has been insane! Amazon deals has been my best buys so far.

Mawsymoo · 28/12/2015 16:17

I don't think the essentials like carseats get reduced by much really. I got 15% off the cot and 20% off the mattress in mamas and papas so not a super-bargain but better than nothing. I managed to get some 0-3month clothes half price in the Next sale as I didn't have much at all (2 vests and some summer rompers weren't going to stretch too far on on January baby). I should be fine for most other sizes.

I have a hospital appointment tomorrow so I'll get a peek at baby which I'm looking forward too. I should find out if I've got a date for CS too.

Rufus200 · 28/12/2015 18:27

When I was in mothercare the woman in front of me was asked at the checkout when her baby was due, she very acidly replied she had already had it, oops! I probably would have got very upset about being asked. Note to self, never go out without baby until mummy tummy is under control!

birdbrain21 · 29/12/2015 10:37

Rufus oops hope the person apologised! I also found in the mothercare store not very much was on sale but online there was loads of clothes so frustrating how long it takes for them to deliver because I ordered during the sale

joleyn · 29/12/2015 17:14

We braved the hell and that is bluwater today. Just got a few bits like keepsake boxes. Now have 1 puffy hand from hanging down while I was walking. Lots of bump comments, although am just pleasedI can still do it at 31 weeks with twins!!!

Mawsymoo · 29/12/2015 17:21

I had my appointment today - all looks good with baby - he's looking like a chubbster which is quite the contrast from DS! I'm in bits though my head cold has gone into my chest so I'm off to the gp in the morning. I also have an old foot injury which has come back and I can't manage crutches at the moment so I'm hobbling around in pain. I'm absolutely wrecked.

IslaMann · 29/12/2015 17:35

Had my follow up scan this afternoon following Xmas Days adventure. All is good, no cause found and baby is weighing 6lb 3oz at 34+5! Still breech so thank goodness I'm booked for a section. Had to go to Mothercare afterwards as DH & DS went up in the loft to get down my crib that has been in the family for about 50 years, only to find that the support strut is missing Sad. So have been out and ordered a new crib and bought some bedding. Feel sad that won't be using the heirloom but they said they searched everywhere for the support. What's the bet that when we clear out the loft when we move that it gets found.

jellypi3 · 29/12/2015 18:17

Good news bubba is OK isla though gutting about the crib!

I've been getting loads of bh's today. They feel so weird!

MaisieDotes · 29/12/2015 18:22

I think baby has gone head down but he's definitely back to back at the moment. Just suddenly today I feel that I've run out of space in my bump and there's a constant feeling of pressure all throughout my abdomen. It's mildly painful.

The snuzpod has been retrieved from the loft and reassembled. I spent all last night searching for the fabric parts which I eventually found in DS's room today Confused Have new snuzpod mattress ready to go.

I took out all my newborn, up to 1 month and 0-3 month stuff last night and washed it, along with a load of new vests.

I think I'm starting to get a bit organised!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 29/12/2015 19:45

I've felt shocking the last few days. I think I'm doing too much but I'm trying to get organised and rearrange rooms and furniture etc. The tumble dryer has died which is bloody inconvenient!

My sleeping has totally gone to pot. Baby had hiccups at 3am which woke me up and then I couldn't get back to sleep. I'm now in the bath and he has hiccups again lol. It's cute, but not at 3am 🙁🙁

I'm 34 weeks on Thursday so not long to go now 🚼

goneswimming · 29/12/2015 20:44

I've had a really good rest over Christmas, done a load of washing for the baby, and the first replacement mattress has arrived for the chicco crib. Cot is assembled too- but doesn't there seem to be just an endless list of stuff to get done?!
