I'm home. All is well with baby. They don't know what caused the bleeding, just said its one of those things. Whatever. Christmas was ruined.

madsaz76 · 26/12/2015 13:43

isla can you have a Christmas today? If not then at least take it really easy and get spoiled?

haquoi123 · 26/12/2015 13:57

Really glad to hear all is well with both you and the baby, isla, what a relief. Can you have a delayed Christmas?

mad that sounds shit. You have all the right to ask for people to respect your stuff, especially when you need it. I'm sorry people weren't looking out for you.

chinchilla are you still dry? I think Lancashire and Yorkshire are bearing the brunt this time. Another one with active baby here! My mum felt bubs move for the first time in a while and promptly screamed and jumped away! She's very squeamish, but to her credit he was doing some massive kicking. Dsis felt a bit nauseous over some of his rolling around, ha!

I have to say I had the best Christmas I've had in a couple of years. It's the second Christmas since we lost ds, so the run up was a bit difficult and I realised I hadn't bought him anything. (I've got a present for him for his brother's birth, but hadn't thought of Christmas). But we were with close family that we could relax with and had spaced out family visits (with threats we wouldn't be around on Christmas day) beforehand, the food was great and we didn't host. It was just lovely.

hacquoi that sounds nice :)

Have pulled my big girl pants up and gone to sisters. Armed with a hairy bean bag that sheds so noone will want to nick it Smile

IslaMann · 26/12/2015 15:41

No can't have a delayed Xmas. DSD has gone back to her mum and DS is working then off to his GFs family. But I did get the remains of yesterday's lunch plated up and it was Delish. Ah well have to make up for it next year!

NorthernChinchilla · 26/12/2015 17:45

We're very, very sodden here haquoi- all the folks who get evacuated from St Michaels get rescued to a place at the end of my Mum's road. Right in the middle of it.
We're also meant to be going to see friends in Yorkshire on Monday, and think we'll need to keep that under review!

Glad you're home Isla, and got some good grub in the end. Must be worrying for you on top of the crappy timing.

Getting a bit of R&R at the moment which is sorely needed.

Mawsymoo · 26/12/2015 18:18

Glad all is well isla, that's the main thing. Belated happy Christmas all!

Exhausted here - the in-laws have just left after 3 days of being waited on hand and foot. To be fair they entertained DS which was a help but I'm shattered from all the cooking and cleaning etc. Then we had my lot over after dinner on Christmas day and I offered to do the collecting and dropping home so I never sat down all day yesterday. It'll be early to bed for me tonight! I'm going to go online once DS goes to bed and hopefully order some sort of sleeping place for the baby and then I'll have to summon some energy in the next few days to get everything else sorted. Just over 3 weeks max left for me nowShock

MaisieDotes · 26/12/2015 18:36

Glad all is well isla!

Well done mawsy - fair play to you for getting through that! 3.5 weeks to go- are you having a CS?

A friend of mine is in for hers on the 30th- she's actually due on the 31st but they wouldn't give her a date at 39 weeks as it was Xmas week!

I was so exhausted I went to bed at 9.30pm last night and then DH gave DS breakfast and everything today while I stayed in bed so I pretty much slept for 12 hours. I felt the better for it too!

Mawsymoo · 26/12/2015 19:40

Oh wow maisie that sounds like heaven I must try to get a few more hours sleep tonight.

Yep I'll be having a CS the week of the 18th Jan if I don't go before then. I'll be 39 weeks. I can't believe how close it feels now that Christmas day is over!

madsaz76 · 26/12/2015 20:14

Wow. I can't really get my head around the fact that some of the babies will be here really soon.

Wow again.Grin

MaisieDotes · 26/12/2015 20:39

It's going to be so exciting when the ACTUAL BABIES start coming!!

I've been on this thread since 22nd May which was day one of the first Feb thread! Seems like an absolute age ago. I really can't believe the finish line is in sight Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 26/12/2015 20:52

I'm Envy mawsy, mine won't be until w/c 15th of Feb, and as I'm delayed in booking in it may be towards the end of that!
Looks like you'll be the first then, unless we get any New Year surprises- how exciting for you Smile

Mawsymoo · 26/12/2015 21:54

I bet I won't be first - someone will go naturally before me! I can't see myself going naturally so there's 3 and a bit weeks for a baby to arrive!

I just ordered a cot bed online - I'll move DS into that and use his smaller cot in our room for the baby. It seemed like the most sensible option for the long-term. So now I just need to get into my parents attic someday next week and get all the rest of the baby stuff home and cleaned and I'm sorted except for a cheap baby monitor (just a listening one for ds - I'll use his angelcare one with the mat for the new baby).

haquoi123 · 26/12/2015 23:08

mawsy how are you still going?! You're super woman! I'm so lazy, I tried to climb some stairs today (to my credit there were about 6 flights, but I absolutely refused to let myself take the lift) and had braxton hicks at the end of it I was so tired! 3 weeks though, so EXCITING!!

Who else has an early due date? There are a few January people aren't there?

Eek chinchilla, that sounds rough. Fingers crossed for you over the next few days! We've got a hotel booked for a couple of nights in windermere as a Christmas present and are just hoping we can get there after tonight's deluge. Other than that my immediate vicinity seems ok but Appleby has sounded the flood siren... Sad

How was it at your sisters mad?

jellypi3 · 27/12/2015 09:23

I'm January 28th, I reckon baby will be late though. She certainly seems.comfy in there.

mawsy I'm another from the first days of the Feb thread. Feels like ages ago lol

MaisieDotes · 27/12/2015 09:37

I'm the 27th Jan. I had DD at 39+1 and DS at 39+4 but that means nothing really.

Once I get to 1st Jan I know I'm going to have a massive panic and nesting frenzy!

Rufus200 · 27/12/2015 11:58

Getting really uncomfortable now, bump hasn't dropped yet. I'm getting excruciating pain in my solar plexus when I lie on my side for more then a hour at a time. So that is how much sleep I'm getting now. Then have to sit up stretch and switch sides. It feels like muscular pain, guessing my liver and stomach are smuched up against my diaphragm and causing the pain.

Part of me is like I've had enough and 5 weeks more of this is far too long, then the other part is like but he is so little and has no body fat so can't come out yet! Funny how he can be too little to come out but is already too big in there.

madsaz76 · 27/12/2015 13:02

Went much better at other sisters. Brother not there - he's usually the root of winding me up. Sprawled on beanbag and able to graze.

rufus I feel your pain. Bubs has moved I think so my liver jot taking such a hammering but now sitting much lower so a new group of muscles with no idea what has hit them. I think cat naps are the future and may as well get used to it for when bubs arrives.

Mawsymoo · 27/12/2015 13:33

haquoi stairs give me Braxton Hicks too! I have to go up a long flight to get my tram home from work and I'm usually rushing and I'm sure I look like a woman in labour by the time I reach the platform! Still doesn't get me a seat though Angry.

I'm so tired today, DS was up chatting to me from 4-6am and then up for the day at 7.30. He's asleep now and I can't nap for some reason.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 27/12/2015 13:53

Hi Girls, Happy Christmas!!

I've been very busy so apologies for not writing on here for a while. I am Facebook friends with one of the regulars from this thread in the early days and am over the moon to be able to say she has had a beautiful daughter a few days ago. I know it was earlier than expected but it seems as though everything is going really well and hopefully they will be discharged from the hospital soon.

I'm 34 weeks on Thursday and it's starting to feel quite real now. I have another scan at 36 weeks and a consultant appnt. A hospital tour booked for the end of Jan and a breast feeding evening thing I'm going to in Jan. I've just got to try and keep this baby in lol. So far I've felt lots of burrowing sensations very low. My bump still looks high and I don't feel too bad in myself apart from eating more food than I wanted the last two days 😣

Rufus200 · 27/12/2015 16:02

whoknew has purdie had her baby?

Just started the baby's washing. I think there will be at least 5 loads!!! Stood in front of the washing machine thinking WTF do I actually wash it with?! Used persil non bio and comfort pure in the end, it's what DH and I use as we both itch like crazy with anything else. What is everyone else using? Is there something more baby friendly to use?

Rufus200 · 27/12/2015 16:03

Reading the labels on some of the baby stuff is hysterical, burp cloths with cold wash only and do not tumble dry. How exactly am I supposed to baby sick out of those?!!

haquoi123 · 27/12/2015 16:13

rufus I've just put our bamboo terry squares and nappies in the wash (not started on clothes yet) and used my homemade gloop... Whether it'll be good enough for getting rid of poo I don't know, I might have to use a regular liquid for them. I've been given lots of old stuff I have no qualms about shoving in the wash regardless of instructions, but there are some beautiful new cardigans I got for Christmas and I'm too scared to look at the label!

whoknew that's wonderful news about the safe arrival of her little one :)

Having spent the majority of this pregnancy worrying about premature delivery, I'm now 34 weeks and need to start preparing myself for the possibility he'll arrive at 42. Psyched myself up for a short pregnancy Confused

well thats the issue of someone being first out of the way! Glad mum and baby safe Grin

just trying to shake paranoid thoughts of being last in full knowledge I can't be as they wont let me go that far over)

I used to be a rational human being....

jellypi3 · 27/12/2015 17:12

brummie had her little one didn't she? It was on the FB group.

I really don't want to be pregnant for another 6-7 weeks!!
