That's great news lemons xx

Rose2806 · 30/11/2015 11:49

Great to hear that lemon!

I need some sickness advice. Up until today I have only experienced nausea and dry retching, which I have coped with by eating regularly. I have felt completely normal all weekend but in the last couple of hours it's massively come back and instead of food helping I'm bringing what I eat straight back up again. I feel hungry and empty now but feel worried to eat again :-( how have other people been managing this?!

bikingintherain · 30/11/2015 11:57

Honestly rose with some difficulty! But maybe a few things that might help.

Overtiredness is a huge trigger for me. So try and get naps.

Liquids are the most important, very cold water tend to stay down more. I also find fizzy drinks help. (Have no idea why)

Just eat a little, don't force yourself to eat a whole meal. I graze on salted cashew nuts. But eat what you fancy in the moment.

I've only just got to the stage of eating to help stop nausea (13 weeks) so it isn't a given. If it goes on for a more prolonged time you can ask for medication to help .

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

lemonslemonslemons · 30/11/2015 11:59

Rose I am exactly the same as biking and what she says has applied to me too. Cold cold drinks, salt and vinegar squares and orange jelly have helped :)

Torfhinn · 30/11/2015 12:20

Great scan news here too! Everything where it should be and baby Torf wiggling round like a loon Grin They put me 1 day ahead so now due 5th June!

Congratulating on your great scan too lemons

Fx for you this afternoon lex

Louise34567 · 30/11/2015 12:21

I've found that salty, savoury food is alright and that it's the sweet stuff that makes me wretch! I'm trying to eat jacket potatoes with (shop-bought...so pasteurised egg) mayonnaise, tuna/sardines and cheese and that seems to be ok for the moment. But it's different for everyone isn't it. I remember lots of people on here mentioning lemon-y stuff was good.

obsessedlex · 30/11/2015 12:23

Great news torfhinn congratulations - I've got three hours to wait arrgggghhhhh !

MollieRos · 30/11/2015 12:55

Hope everything goes ok for you today obsessed

Rose I'm exactly the same today! up to now I've generally been throwing up once a day, with several dashes to the toilet to dry heave, plus feeling nauseous all day. But as long as I nibble all day it's been manageable. then today, aargh! I've thrown up about 7 times this morning, couldn't even keep sips of water down. I've had to come home from work as I was feeling so awful. I managed to keep half a bag of plain crisps down and am now cautiously nibbling a sandwich. I'm so hungry but nervous to throw it back up again! I can't keep water down so maybe I'll try squash or a fizzy drink to see if I can manage sips of that. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow so not sure why it's suddenly got so bad.

Any other sickness hints and tips gratefully received! I'm going to have to lie down in a bit, see if that helps.

dollydaydream84 · 30/11/2015 13:07

Hi Ladies

I have been watching this thread for many weeks but have been afraid to join. I am 44. I have 2 girls aged 6 and 7. The youngest was born at 32.5 weeks for no reason. Decided the world was ready for her. Last year I went into un explained preterm labour at 16 weeks and gave birth to a baby boy that was too small for this world but perfect in every way. No explanation. I am now 11 weeks and measuring 11 + 3 and have been monitored since my positive test/ I was put on progesterone gel daily and will be having a cerclage placed next week. No guarantee this will stop preterm labour happening again but at least we can say we gave it everything. I ended up in a + e yesterday and was kept overnight as had slight bleed and pain. They discovered an ovarian cyst. Saw peanut jumping around. Consultant very happy with progress but I have been here before. It is hard to be positive but strangely today I am. Baby measuring ahead of dates, baby looks good for my age with prominent nasal bone and no fluid behind neck. Still did the harmony test for peace of mind. This thread has kept me sane reading all the posts and whooping for joy at everyones scans. Due date 17th of June. If i get to early May I will be beyond thrilled. Cannot wait to see more scan pics. In maternity wear for past few weeks ad looking really pregnant. Roll on the second trimester!!!

clarish84 · 30/11/2015 17:42

12 week scan tomorrow I have been so excited and counting down the days but at weekend I started bleeding so now I'm jus so scared and worried .
When I spoke to the midwife she said to try not to worry . And if you are gonna miss carry it's just one of them things there us nothing we can do . I was heartbroken my head is a essential at the min x x

clarish84 · 30/11/2015 17:42

It said head is a mess phone changed it lol x

amysmummy12345 · 30/11/2015 17:43

Scan not so great here 😞 nuchal test measured 3.7mm .2 more than the 3.5mm range they class as normal, been referred for a cvs test 😞 xxx

bikingintherain · 30/11/2015 17:48

Welcome boo. You really are most welcome. I can't begin to imagine the things you have been through and I'm really sorry for your loss. But my experience here (and as I'm sure you're already aware from following this thread) is that these ladies are lovely. There are lots of wise words and support from people have been there and from those who haven't been through a given situation lots of love and hand holding. Ok I'm going to stop now as I feel my overly hormonal self starting to well up.

nehagarg · 30/11/2015 17:49

A GP said that to me once clarish when I started bleeding. I absolutely hate that. We know there is nothing to be done but no one wants to hear that. Some people just dont get it. What a horrible thing to say. I am sure all will be well. A lot of us have had bleeds in the run up to 12 weeks and its been okay. (I had it twice too) ... I am sure you will see a little baby jumping around tomorrow. Bestest of luck! Smile

Welcome booisgreat .. What a lovely scan picture. So sorry to hear everything you have been through with your last pregnancy. That must have been heart breaking. Hopefully this one will stick and make it to term.

nehagarg · 30/11/2015 17:53

Oh no biking .. So sorry. What a terrible worry to have. Did they tell you the odds? Hopefully they are not too high considering you are only 31.

clarish84 · 30/11/2015 17:56

Thanx nahagarg my dh keeps telling me to be posative but It's I always think the worse drives him mad . So i don't think the midwife helped . Il just have to get threw work tomorrow and hope for the best at my scan x
Awww amy my heat goes out to you you must have so much going threw your mind everything crossed for you it all turns out well x

nehagarg · 30/11/2015 17:57

Whoops sorry ... I meant amy .. not biking Blush

nehagarg · 30/11/2015 17:58

clarish ... My DH didnt get it either. Typical man logic that what will be will be. Dont worry ... I am sure all will be fine. Considering how many of us have had bleeds on here and went on to see healthy little beans, the odds are most definitely in your favour Smile

amysmummy12345 · 30/11/2015 18:06

Thanks nehagarg and clarish I've got so many mixed emotions at the minute, I've already found so many positive stories of mums whose reading was the same as mine and gone on to have perfectly healthy children so I'm hoping it's a blip, I'm 35, they've done the nuchal bloods today so I'm guessing I'll get a ratio from that... X

laughingGnomette · 30/11/2015 18:15

booisgreat - Welcome to the gang! I love your scan picture. I’m so pleased you are feeling positive after such terrible luck in the past. We’ll be holding your hand through this.

clarish - all the best for tomorrow. I can completely understand your worry, I hope your bleeding stops soon.

amys - what a worry. I’m hoping your bloods give a positive result xx

Amy I went through the same with my first if you want to message me please feel free. I know how stressful and emotional it is xx

Torfhinn · 30/11/2015 18:36

I'm sorry you have got so much worry amy, as you say, there's a high chance it is nothing bad. Fx for you

Welcome boo, here's to a very boring pregnancy after all you have been through Smile

GrubbyWindows · 30/11/2015 18:41

Welcome boo! What a tough road you've walked- I'm glad you are being well looked after and are feeling positive.

Thinking of you lex I really hope it went ok today. And you tomorrow clarish

amy my DS's nuchal measurement was high (I was mostly furious as I had declined the chromosomal screening, and asked them not to measure it). He is totally fine, it is just one indicator, and can come to nothing. But very stressful to go through, which is why I decided I wanted nothing to do with the screening in the first place. So hard to navigate it all!
