i got my nursing bras today! lalala...they're like parachutes! but they're so soft, and were so cheap - £25 for two! good old m&s. i know you're not supposed to get them till you're 38 weeks but i don't think this baby's gonna be waiting much longer! (you wait, i'll go 42 weeks now!!)

elliepmummy · 15/12/2006 20:21

I have had cronic indigestion and heartburn all day and my baby is 3/5ths engaged so sorry blowing that theory out of the water.

Couldn't even face the chinese at in laws so had some toast dd stayed up so just gone to bed so hoping that means lay in tomorrow, 21 days to go at the most although any time now would be good

Daisypops · 15/12/2006 20:29

EPM- you did well with all your prezzys. I was asked what I want so just said cash so I can choose my own gift!

UD-LAMO at parachutes! Impressedthat your mum knows how to use MN, hope she'll keep us posted if your boy comes early!

Is anyone else struggling to walk? My hips felt like they were going to lock today.

TMI but last night I tackled the ladygarden, had to do it and noticed it was swollen, is this normal? Didn't look very pleasant, not that they do anyway?

Lizzz- LMAO at rolling over and farting. Not attractice at all is it?

LTH-deep breaths now! I know the feeling though.

Ok ladies, what are you all looking forward to the most after you've had your babies? x

wilkie50 · 15/12/2006 21:35

Daisypops - am most looking forward to being able to have a proper full body cuddle with my DH in bed without having a huge baby bump inbetween! (Sad but true)

DH being very sweet at the mo - when I was stressing about the stretch marks at the top of my thighs and wondering whether he will still fancy me after the baby comes, he told me that the stretch marks are just little reminders of the good job I have done keeping our baby warm and he will fancy me even more. How sweet is that Soppy git.

As for my lady, yes mine is swollen too and more purple in colour - v attractive!

Daisypops · 15/12/2006 21:47

wilkie, mine is more purple too . Was squinting at it in the mirror last night, it really was unsightly.

DP's crimbo party tomorrow. Feeling a bit insecure now. All the sexy young things in their nice clothes and hes got me sat at home with a swollen purple fanjo, 3 extra stone and hardly able to walk!

Has anyone got diarhoea (sp?) I've had it over last few days? Could it be to do with bubs head engaging and pushing on my bowel? I'm not eating anything out of the ordinary so don't know it its normal?

wilkie50 · 15/12/2006 21:51

Ha ha - have an image of you squatting over your mirror now!!! Was doing the same the other night and though...'if anyone could see me now...!'

Daisypops · 15/12/2006 21:55

I nearly passed out when I saw it, its a good job me and DP aren't having sex I think he'd bin me!

I just though to myself, 'if thats the state of it now WTF will it be like after I've given birth?!

magnolia1 · 15/12/2006 21:56

Hi Ladies
Anyone close yet??????

Ben is doing great. Puting on weight slowly but feeding tons and still very nocturnal

I know the last few weeks are a royal pain in the arse but ladies believe me it's also a royal pain when the minute your head hits the pillow your new baby wakes up!!!!!!

Lizzz · 16/12/2006 09:35

I am swollen too, and have sent dp out to buy a 'Feme pad' (cool gel filled pad thing you can put down there to reduce swelling specifically after the birth, but stuff it I need it now) from mothercare. Which he found totally amusing, as you keep it in the fridge to cool down before using it. Personally, am not laughing. It hurts!

Have finally packed labour bag! To include dp in this process he gets to buy all the sweets and biscuits etc, even though apparently I will only be in there 5 mins before they send me home.

Only 500 approx hours to go until my due date! x

Dragonhart · 16/12/2006 11:51

Gosh been away for a week and loads to catch up on and MN looks totally different!!

Welcome to all the newbies, so many of you hope it has all been ok for you so far.

ELM, hope all is ok, looking forward to the news!

Magnolia, pic looks gorgeous. Saw a newborn a t the docs last week and it really made me panic! Hope all is going well for you.

Oona, car crash sounds horrible but glad youwere all ok.

Galum, hope the scan goes ok. x

2 happy, mine will be 17 months appart and my mum has spent the entire preg saying 'you will have a rest after this one, wont you' with a really patronising look! Actually happy they are close and want the next to be close too. Mind you might change my mind after this one as DS has mostly been a bit of an angel with sleeping eating ect.

Annieapple, I got the baby whisperer's book 2 weeks after DS was born and would def recomend it. Didnt follow it all but it really helped with my breastfeeding as long as you dont try to follow it to the letter, and just use the bits that work for you.

Had hospital appt on thursday. Went in to sort out the cs and said that I was worried about being too small. Told her that I was sure I was bigger last time and that I had not even put on a stone yet! Everyone has been saying about how small I look and I got really panicked about it. Was expecting her to say that it was all fine as they normally do, but she said that it did feel small, so she would book me in for a growth scan.

Also said that I had been feeling fewer movements over the last week (have been running around all week though) so she fitted me up for a CTG. Of course when I sat down for 30mins, the baby went mental kicking me loads and I had to keep pressing the little button they give you!

She then said that the consultant said he would do the growth scan there and then to put my mind at ease (was soo gratefull as had not been looking forward to the weekend waiting!) Measured everything and said that it was all the right sizes for 36weeks and that it was prob measring small because of me being so tall.

Ended up being there for hours and was so glad that my brother had looked after DS. All turned out ok in the end but quite scary. Doc tried to say that I didnt need a cs, got me all worried and upset, then consultant told me I should have one.

So my cs is now booked for the 5th Jan! So weird as they asked me when I wanted to book it for! Actually chose my babies birthday!

Sorry so long, hope everyone else is well. xxx

wilkie50 · 16/12/2006 12:32

Quick question - why can't we discuss Gina Ford?

wilkie50 · 16/12/2006 12:38

Ignore question - found info on home page as to why.

mears · 16/12/2006 12:41

Sorry to be cheeky and pop in here but I thought that mnetters close to having their babies would have empathy with the mothers in Malawi.

Please have a look at the video on the top of the page in this here . For those of you who don't know me I am a regular mnetter and midwife. I visited Bottom Hospital this year and conditions really are desperate.

Have started a couple of threads but have only had minimal visits to them. Please help if you can. Mears.

laughalot · 16/12/2006 12:52

Wilkie it says on the front page of the thread why I best not go into it to much .

Glad everyone else seems ok besides the dreaded heartburn, when I was in hospital the other day and had my scan the lady asked me if I had heartburn as baby has loads of hair I havent suffered at all also my son had loads of hair and again no heatburn so that is a myth. Dont mean to rub it in when I say that either because my my mum gets heartburn and I know its the most awful feeling in the world.

elliepmummy · 16/12/2006 17:10

Dragonhart we have the same section date (if I make it to mine!!) I chose our date too its very bizarre isnt it

OonaghBhuna · 16/12/2006 21:42

Hello, Had a really hectic day unpacking boxes of kitchen stuff that we packed nearly five months ago. The kitchen is nearly finished and I am feeling so angry about it all.The builders just dont give a toss and it has dragged on and on.

I am having a baby in 1.5 weeks and the place is a shambles due to the slow progress in our house.I am dreading the next week there is so much to do even before thinking of Christmas and presents. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH The nerves and emotions are kicking in now. Sorry to moan but the pressure of everything has been immense and then to top the week off Im in a car crash due to somebody elses roadrage and impatience.

tigersmom · 16/12/2006 21:53

hello any fellow santa lookalikes, this is my first message - really reassuring to look thru the chats and see that so many are also sharing the heartburn, the extra 3 stone, DIY and xmas shopping stresses!! - given my bump a talking too, must come either tonight or wait until after boxing day so who knows - not due til Jan 14th but really ready to pop!

tigersmom · 16/12/2006 21:56

ps - Oonaghbhuna, I had a near miss due to someones roadrage yesterday, hope your feelin ok - recommend a hot bath and glass of baileys as therapy!

LadyTophamHatt · 17/12/2006 08:26

I feel like shit.

Been awake half the night feeling sick. I'm constipated again.
Baby is doing somersaults constantly and making me feel worse.

Dh is at work until at 4:30pm.

Have to take Ds2 to swimming lessons in about 10 minutes, and then need to go shopping with all 3 DS's in tow.

Fucking great. What fun!

Theres a ton of washing on my bed taht needs putting away. Another ton that needs washing and another ton in the machine waiting to be dried.

FFS....All I want to do is lay on my bed feeling sorry for myself.

Jesus christ....I sooooooooo FED UP!

elliepmummy · 17/12/2006 08:39

Think we may be off to hospital again soon been awake on and off all night with backache and been having really strong pains in my pelvis and tummy every 10 minutes that are killing me & had diarraohea all weekend. Phoned hospital at 8.15 they said rest for an hour then phone back to see how I feel. DH had his work do last night and rolled home at 3am so woke him up and he's attempting to wake himself up in the shower. DD refusing to get dressed but if we need to go to hospital she can go to my mum and dads in pj's and they can sort it out!

wilkie50 · 17/12/2006 09:32

Ooo EM, keep us updated. Fingers crossed little one is about to make an appearance.

LTH - so sorry you feel fed up. I felt a bit down yesterday but at least I am can just sleep if necessary whereas you have your 3 DS's to look after.

Keep thinking about the labour and birth - my book says baby's a considered full term from 37 weeks but unlikely to need special care if born after 35 weeks? Just wondering what anyone else had heard.

Sure that my thrush is still hanging around and really want it gone before I go into labour

OB - can't believe your builders, they really are taking the p*ss. Unleash the fury of a pregnant woman on them ;)

LadyTophamHatt · 17/12/2006 11:17

Ok, back from swimming and shopping.

Thats 50,000,000,000 good mother/wife points I'm claiming.

I was going to get in and just lounge on the sofa all day but then I remembered.....ds1+2 have xmas parties at school tomorrow and I said I'd make cakes for them.

So I now have to make 60 odd fu*king fairy cakes.

AAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

(I have had a poo now though so I'm a bit happier than earlier )

magnolia1 · 17/12/2006 15:07

Oh Lth Go and buy 60 fairy cakes at tesco's and sit down to relax!!!! Let the dc's decorate them so they look home made

Ellie, good luck hun, sounds like things are happening for you xxxxxx

Love to everyone else. Ben is lovely but up all night

Dragonhart · 17/12/2006 19:28

I have been making fairy cakes for DS christmas party too. Finished but not sure if I will use them or buy some tom as not a very good baker!

Doesnt sound like you will make it to be my cs buddy ellip! Hope you are ok?!

Got all the stuff for my hospital bag today as suddenly got panicked last night. Almost bought girl's stuff as docs at hospital pretty much said it will be a girl ( as we didnt want to know!) but decided against it incase it was a boy and they were wrong. Will pack it tom or whenever I get around to it (prob either if I go early or day before the cs .

Hope everyone else is well. xxx
