I'm not going to lie grubby, DD watched a whole lot more CBeebies than she had in the past when DS came along. But then my milk came in a lot quicker than first time round and I think that helped.

Lovelybeano · 05/11/2015 20:19

My milk came quicker with my second I think that's why I found it so much easier, plus they started leaking a lot earlier in pregnancy too, I used to wake up in the night and the covers and bed would be soaking wet, I used to get really mad at my body for wasting it haha all that hard work to make it then just let it squirt anywhere - makes a change for the women to leave wet patches Wink

Torfhinn · 05/11/2015 20:31

Just a quick message to say hi to all. I've been keeping up with the thread but have been having a pretty rough week with ds's not sleeping and a new wave of symptoms. Been a bit tearful cos it's all been a bit much this week. Glad to hear news of great scans, I'll hopefully be back properly soon x

GrubbyWindows · 05/11/2015 20:37

I suspected that might be the trick biking! We haven't quite got to weaning with DS so I'm guessing I'm going to be tandeming, I'll be a milk fountain! Not looking forward to the leaking...

mrsmugoo · 05/11/2015 20:50

Dirtycat - if you use the "other entrance" you don't get the leaking btw ;)

Dirtycat · 05/11/2015 21:01

Ha ha! He specifically told me I had to "use the front door" Blush

Potkettleblack2 · 05/11/2015 21:03

I think DS has chicken pox! Exactly what I need in my exhausted state!! There's always something!

emma85x · 05/11/2015 21:26

potkettle I hope you ds is OK and gets much better soon.

I've come to bed as I am in a foul mood for no apparent reason. Poor DH. Thought it best to give up trying not to be furious (for absolutely no reason at all whatsoever) and turn in. Oh hormones. You gits.

It's so ironic as all I've wanted for the past few years is to conceive, now we have, I am so exceptionally happy but I am so so moody.

Thanks to you all. Not sure where I'd be without this forum atm!

mrslewis2015 · 05/11/2015 21:39

So glad your scan was ok biffle and hope your doing ok lemons, hope everyone who is having a tough time gets some relief soon!

I've had a mild day nausea wise... But the day from hell at work, nearly all the staff threatened to walk out, I am so worried about all the stress on the baby, I'm still only 6+2 and it can't be doing me any good, I got home tonight to explosive runs (sorry tmi!) and feeling incredible teary at a loss, all my being wants to quit and say a big ol 'f-U' for all the stress we've been put under, but if I leave who will look after my work babies.. And what would I do about maternity.. eurghh, can't go on much more either way!

Sorry to moan, but need a vent. :(

mrsmugoo · 05/11/2015 21:44

What brand are you on dirtycat?

Osirus · 05/11/2015 22:05

I'm taking progesterone but it's the gel, Crinone.

Dirtycat · 05/11/2015 22:14

Exactly the same as what you've got there mrsmugoo. I think his theory is that they are slightly more effective round the front....

becky140290 · 05/11/2015 22:58

Evening all, have had some bleeding so am booked in for a scan tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed all is ok!

BabySocks · 06/11/2015 05:14

Fingers crossed becky

mrsmug your comments really confused me, I missed dirtycat op ams thought you were discussing something relating to breastfeeding.... and going round the back was better for leaking than the front enterance iyswim... I think that shows I have a dirty mind :)

Lovelybeano · 06/11/2015 06:33

Lol babysocks !! Grin

mrsmugoo · 06/11/2015 07:30

It really doesn't make a different dirtycat it gets in your blood stream either way. Was that a GP who told you that? GPs are pretty clueless! I got mine from a fertility consultant who knew so much more than my stupid GP. I wouldn't be pregnant now if I'd listened that that silly cow!

nehagarg · 06/11/2015 07:39

Fingers crossed becky.

Torfhinn - hope you feel better soon.

emma - i am the same. Lost it with DH yesterday and I could see that the poor guy was trying to be very patient. Took myself straight to bed.

Hugs to everyone feeling rubbish Thanks

Yesterday and this morning I actually feel ok after a horrible few days, my boobs aren't sore any more either, but off course instead of enjoying it I'm now worrying despite the positive scan on Monday! I'm 7+3, did anyone else's boobs get better around now?

Those people using moisturiser on their belly- how did you decide what was safe chemicals wise? I have a nivea skin firming lotion with enzyme q10 but not sure if I can use it. Is the palmers cocoa butter a good one?

Lovelybeano · 06/11/2015 09:28

rose I used palmers with my other pregnancys and vit e oil from Holland and Barratt (cheaper than bio oil) , this time I'm also using elemis frangipani oil because it smells lush x

JellyBaby26 · 06/11/2015 09:36

I will use bio oil and any moisturiser I have but unfortunately stretch marks for me are inevitable so there is almost no point!

PrincessPunzie · 06/11/2015 09:47

Not been on for a few days so just catching up, biffle I'm glad everything was okay with your scan.

Just in from my booking in appointment - unfortunately the midwife did insist on weighing me, but she was understanding about the old battle with eating problems and understood the trigger factor - she promised she wouldn't tell me what it said but unfortunately she repeated it to herself whilst typing it into the computer and now it's etched on my brain. Fortunately it's in kilos and I can't convert that in my head so I'm utterly, utterly banning myself from Googling it because if I know what I weigh in stone and pounds I'll freak out. Trying to confuse myself by saying lots of other numbers in my head so that I forget the exact number ASAP!

I'm curious as to whether anyone else has a past history with eating disorders, and whether you find it's affecting you now? I'm more worried about weight gain than I thought I would be, but I also have a will of iron when it comes to this baby being healthy so I'm hoping for the best! The midwife was lovely and said that because of my healthy eating and exercise regime she's certain I'll be one of those women who only gains what they're supposed to and sees it all drop away afterwards. Which was nice and reassuring. She even let me try some of the seeded oatcakes she keeps in her drawer and told me where to buy them, so that next time my body screams for starch I can butter up one of those instead of freaking out that I've eaten toast.

Feeling very, very un-pregnant and it feels like time is slowing down! 9+2 today and the scan paperwork will be on its way in the next week or so, but ugh it's like time has stopped! I'm sure you all know what I mean!!

BiffleRoo · 06/11/2015 10:08

princess don't stress about your weight whatever it may be. All of my pgs have been different and I've gained between 21 and 70lbs. Each time I've returned to within a stone of my pre pg weight within a week or so and last time I weighed 1stone less than when I conceived despite doing nothing different.

Guess what I'm trying to say is you can't control it so still with the healthy eating and exercise as much as you can but don't let it control you. Enjoy being pregnant and worry about it later Thanks

PrincessPunzie · 06/11/2015 10:30

Thanks so much for the response biffle - I've spent years countering my obsession with what I weigh by refusing to weigh myself on any occasion or under any circumstances, so today was a bit of a trial for me. That's great to know that you got back to your pre/pregnancy weight so fast - it's something I worry about more than I should, really! I've had a lifetime of being hard on myself about my appearance and I do hope that when the baby weight does its thing I'll relax a little - after all it's weight gain I won't be able to blame on myself for the first time ever!!

I've had a bit of spotting since getting back - not had any in 2.5 weeks - so I'm feeling a bit teary and rubbish now. Isn't early pregnancy the pits!

lemonslemonslemons · 06/11/2015 10:38

Get this:

Just had a phone call from my Dr surgery to say that I have a prescription waiting. I had no idea about this, but apparently it is to do with results from my urine sample that I did at the hospital (standard 8 week appt) on Monday. When I asked to talk to the Dr to find out what the prescription was for, they said no!! She said to contact my midwife (who I haven't even met yet) as the results will have gone to her. I can't believe it! Like I'm going to take medicine if I don't know what it's for.

Tried calling midwife but she is engaged. Feeling a bit pissed off.

nehagarg · 06/11/2015 10:50

Rose - I just made mine at home. Equal parts coconut oil and shea and cocoa butters with few drops of orange essential oil. Heat until liquid then cool until semi solid and then whip and leave until it sets.

Just finished my booking appt too. Midwife was lovely but have been assigned to another community midwife for the rest of the pregnancy. Now sat in hospital waiting for it to stop raining so i can go to work.

lemons - Thats frustrating. I dont trust Gps at all. Mine is particularily useless.
