The bundle I want seems to be cheapest at just4baby.com....it includes the car seat and bassinet and is about 150 cheaper than mothercare. Toysrus doesn't stock it, the other big retailers only do chassis plus push chair, and you have to buy the carseat and/or bassinet separately...

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 11/10/2015 21:27

Urgh. I've not had morning sickness at all thank fuck, not needed on top of IBS BUT. For the entire pregnancy so far, I have struggled to eat. I make something I really fancy. And it tastes like ash, so I don't eat it. I'll be starving after a busy day, eat 3 bites and be unable to eat more. Anyone else?! There's no bloody wonder my weight gain so far is only 6lbs. Its like my body is torturing me! I just want to eat a full meal, and enjoy it.

Harrrrumph.

Rufus200 · 11/10/2015 22:24

Today I had my 1st unwanted bump feel up. FIL decided he had the right to have a feel, I was seriously unimpressed but said nothing as DH already complains I don't like his parents. FIL always slobbers all over me.

I have found in general sales (not baby) that prices go up in October and November for the reductions in December and January. I found some sale items where cheaper in the sales just before Christmas then after Boxing Day. If you find a deal now from a reputable company then I would buy.

Arrow Unfortunately I can't sympathise with you as I am a walking dustbin and deserve every lb that I have put on!

clarabellski · 12/10/2015 09:01

Good morning ladies, amazing photos over the weekend! I'll need to figure out how to take one on my phone (I don't know how to do selfies Blush) - I only graduated from a nokia 3310 earlier this year...

Arrow I've totally gone off certain foods like red meat (not that I ate much of it before), but even the thought of a burger or mince turns my stomach. But I've found I can get enough calories from cake Grin

monkerina · 12/10/2015 09:13

Here's my bump at 21+4 Smile Spent the weekend playing with my friend's 2-year-old toddler, so cute! Also had first unwanted bump grab- another friend kept putting her hands on it. I love her and all, but just don't think it's appropriate to randomly grab someone else's middle section regardless of their condition?!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 09:19

I hate unwanted bump grabbing and I will smack peoples hands away. MIL asked first and so I said yes. I have sensory issues with people getting in my personal space, let alone touching me. Strangers especially give me The Rage Angry I mean wtf?!

Sighing · 12/10/2015 09:38

I am a hand smacker, I can't help it. It's just not usual social practice to grab people between chest and pelvis!. Bump is very much restricted to DH whilst noone else knows. I am very wary of what will happen after (though my DD's will be fine).

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 10:11

DH, DDs, my Dad and step Mum, my Grandparents, one of my DSis, my best friend and her Mum are the only ones allowed to randomly touch me.

I can see it being an issue with DSS13 but we have a strained relationship at the best of times tbh Sad Despite my best efforts. Maybe when I'm 30 weeks plus and its more baby than my stomach I'll be comfortable. Or not. Who knows. This weekend was very awkward with DH and I being separated for 5 months I haven't seen DSS for that time and he spent the weekend rooting through drawers, demanding to know why I'd got a new sofa/table/dining chairs, where did I get the money from for it, why have I bought the baby stuff Shock Confused Hmm All questions aimed at DH, bizarrely. I didn't hear what he said in response was listening from upstairs

Sighing · 12/10/2015 10:25

Till: that sounds very akward with the DSS. Hopefully he was told it's none of his business! (Are the questions about money coming from other parent, I know my DD's ask very specific questions about income/ expense after a visit with my exBIL who is materially obsessed & competitive)

BananaRaces · 12/10/2015 10:33

TillITook your weekend sounds really bloody awkward, hopefully it'll get better with time.
I had terrible food-aversion in the first trimester, everything except toast tasted absolutely vile. I was force-feeding myself a lot of the time and I kept thinking "Ooh, I really fancy spag bol, I'll make that for dinner." But when it was in front of me it smelt and tasted awful and I could only just force myself to eat half of it. Sweet things seemed to be the worst, just the thought of chocolate made me feel green. So frustrating. Mine stopped about 6 weeks ago, I'm so sorry yours hasn't yet. I hope it will soon.

CalypsoLilt · 12/10/2015 10:46

re: appetite

mine comes and goes, I think the baby is now on my stomach and not on my bladder as I've stopped getting up in the night for a wee and my appetite has gone. I definitely don't eat as well now as pre-pregnancy :-/

MaisieDotes · 12/10/2015 10:48

Finally got round to my bump pic! This is me this morning at 24+5 Smile

MaisieDotes · 12/10/2015 11:02

And on the appetite thing... I can confirm that the bump is in fact 80% Haribos Blush

Mawsymoo · 12/10/2015 11:07

Here's my bump yesterday at 24+6. I'm off for a hospital appointment this afternoon - I'm looking forward to checking in on baby and finding out what position he's in as I can't figure it out from the kicks!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 11:15

Not a clue where the money questions come from. I just couldn't believe what I was hearing! I would have got short shrift if I'd dared to ask questions like that at that age. We've had issues with DSS not grasping that DDs have 'more' than him because they live here, and they have less at their Dads, just like he has everything at his Mums and less here Hmm Its impossible to please him, basically. I get a generous amount of CSA from my exDP and it all gets spent on luxuries for my DDs. We pay CSA and its up to his DM how she chooses to spend that money. He has designer gear, several (!) of the latest games consoles, regular pocket money etc at his DMs so hes hardly going without.

I'm in KFC, food of the Gods. Planning to do some Christmas shopping and then go home and get my feet up till the school run.

MaryEllen1 · 12/10/2015 11:54

Has anyone started writing their list of things they need to buy for when baby is here?

I haven't yet and am starting to panic lol not sure why am just half way.

Are there any good website that give you an idea? First timer here :)

Sighing · 12/10/2015 11:59

Christmas shopping?! Oh my god woman, i'm watching OneBorn and trying to stay awake today!

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 12:12

sighing Guess which sort of person I am Grin I do cheat a bit though, I order online for store collection! Just picked up a few new bits for DDs Christmas tree (they have one in their bedroom every year) and a gift bag for our Christmas Eve goodies.

mary The online lists scare me a bit! This is my 4th and I look at those lists and cross half the stuff off! It really does depend on what works best for you.

This is what I have:

Cloth nappies, cloth wipes, long sleeved vests, tights, sleepsuits, hat, coat, sling, car seat, cot, mattress, bedding, loads of muslin squares, nursing bras, lansinoh cream, lansinoh cooling pads, pyjamas for me which button up the front for easy breastfeeding access, cloth maternity pads, cloth breastfeeding pads.

^Thats my essentials list.

Sighing · 12/10/2015 12:16

I'm much more of the second. My daughter's are not allowed to tell me what they want until November!

MaisieDotes · 12/10/2015 12:16

Just back from the GP where I had to get my wonky fanjo out for inspection Blush Blush

For some reason I couldn't give a fiddlers who looks at it in the maternity hospital/ midwife setting, but I get awkward about it in front of my GP.

Anyway she said it's just pregnancy related and nothing can really be done until after the birth. She recommended a bump support band to relieve a bit of pressure from my nethers.

So that's it. Sex life is in ribbons, don't really know what to do about that Confused Confused

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 12:27

sighing DH is the second, very much so. We're totally opposite ends of the spectrum. I had awful Christmases/life in general as a child - drunk mother/step dad, no gifts, loads of shouting etc. Then I moved in with my Dad aged 16 and thinking of that Christmas still makes me cry - it was amazing. We didn't have much money (he had to leave work to care of me) but somehow, he managed to buy me the most amazing gifts. Not loads, but everything he'd bought was something I loved - books, films, CDs, chocolates. (Mostly Buffy and Anne Rice Grin ) He came bounding into my room at 6am telling me to wake up and open my presents, he made my favourite breakfast and then we went to my Grandparents who also made a huge fuss of me. Nothing flash, not loads of money, but it was the first time in my life I'd felt wanted and loved, and I want my DDs to feel like that every single day, and I always strive to make Christmas as magical for them as it was for me that year, and the subsequent years I lived with him. I have ishoos.

Our sex life is down the pan right now too Sad

Sighing · 12/10/2015 12:40

tillaw. That's so nice for you for such a magical turning point for Christmas. Hurray for your dad! I'm afraid the commercialism of it all brings out my cynic. I turn off the tele for those John Lewis ads for eg. It's good to hear a genuine wonderful christmas story though, rather than the fake emotive efforts of advertisers. I'll even get my ink pads bought for half term now (so we can make our christmas, ps we're having a baby cards before the end of November).

MaryEllen1 · 12/10/2015 12:42

Thanks arrow that's great :) will definitely be using this. Did look at some online one and did think WTF!!

monkerina · 12/10/2015 13:31

Awww Till that's lovely! I love Xmas too- love a good mooch around John Lewis's Xmas section, and I've just finished a jumper for my bro that currently fits me... having to hold back from nicking for myself...

Sex life non existent here too. DH seems to be convinced he'll destroy the baby with his mighty penis Hmm despite being assured this is not the case. Once since BFP.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 12/10/2015 13:44

monkerina Grin That made me snort!

Here its because of persistent thrush/UTIs making me feel really grim, but we have a child free weekend this weekend and I'm determined to at least give the poor bloke a blowie Blush He has a really high sex drive (as do I usually) and not once has he moaned/whined/complained at me.
