We have foot/fist/elbow dragging here! Can visibly see my skin moving now when baby is moving.

Today is DDs first day back at school with the anti bullying measures in place... I've not heard anything from school all day so hopefully when I pick her up, all will have been well.

Just doubled up my Tesco vouchers on clothing and blown the lot on baby clothes and new pyjamas and robe for me Grin

Still feeling ill, have hardly moved off the sofa for 3 days, however I am starving and constantly eating! Must be a pregnancy thing because usually, this ill, I'd have zero appetite.

clarabellski · 02/11/2015 14:51

Hi everyone, welcome franny Cake

Both DH & I can see belly changing shape when the baby is changing position. We haven't seen anything as defined as a foot. I suspect that would be when closer to term.

OMG I actually wet myself a little bit this weekend. I have a bit of a cold and when I sneezed, I obviously lost control of my pelvic floor a little bit and a little bit of wee came out (enough that I had to change my underwear). Cue a trip to the shops for more panty liners.

I now realise that I have to take the pelvic floor exercises more seriously (as in, actually do them).

Anyone else having same issue?

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 02/11/2015 16:33

clara I'm having to employ the same technique I did with DC3 - when I've finished peeing, I carry on squeezing and lean forward. That usually does the trick Blush However. I am finding leakage a problem at times.

Tiredoftiredness · 02/11/2015 16:49

Yes Clara, I had the exact same the other day, was not impressed! Must remember to squeeze before sneezing from now on...

Antenatal class tomorrow which I'm quite excited about-missed them last time due to ds's early exit so will be interesting. MW trying to persuade me I need to do additional classes in vbac and water birth but seems like a waste of time- what dot others think?

CalypsoLilt · 02/11/2015 16:55

arrow pleeeease don't spend too much on one type/brand of cloth nappy until you know what fits the baby best.... I see all the time on facebook groups stashes being sold because they bought everything before the baby was born......just don't want you wasting your money!

hi franny Cake Brew

My sitting room is in a state of flux because I had to get the ceiling re-plastered and it's totally thrown me, it's really making me miserable because I just don't have the energy to paint it myself :( I hate my house being a mess/dysfunctional..... I can't get in the spare room because it's full on furniture, I can't get to half my clothes because there's a sofa in my bedroom blocking the chest of drawers and I'm too pregnant to move it buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa sob sob sob. I had a stern talk to myself earlier and bit the bullet and organised a painting party.... I hate asking for favours, I feel like I am constantly asking stuff from people :( I cried in Ikea on Friday because I feel like I have so many decisions to make all by myself. On the plus side, my new mattress has had 72 hours to reflate (it comes rolled and squashed) so tonight is the night!

CalypsoLilt · 02/11/2015 17:15

oh and I had my 25wk MW appointment today, my bump measures 24.5cm give or take my cricket ball fibroid so I'm bang on "normal" LOL Grin

Rufus200 · 02/11/2015 18:15

Calypso I wish someone would come and help me with my painting! I've dropped big hints with all of DH's big family but they just completely ignore them.

I'm getting terrible leg cramps particularly when I move in the night. My prenatal vit has magnesium and calcium in it, currently sat in a bath with 4 cups of Epsom salts in it, in the hope I will absorb more magnesium.

My bits are so swollen now that my big blood blister burst. Luckily I had seen the skin was splitting and was going to pop because it was a blood bath of bright red blood. I thought it would just be old blood but obviously it has a very active blood supply to it. It went flat and then has refilled again.

I've discovered that taking my supplements at lunch time reduces my nighttime reflux but makes it much worse during the day. I now can't bend down without acid leaking into my mouth. Even shaving my legs in the shower causes it.

Baby has moved into the most horrible position. He tried to grind his head across me at 2am this morning, I was whimpering the pain was so bad. I think he has gone transverse or he was at least trying to at 2am. All kicks and punches have gone from cute to uncomfortable at best. I hope he moves back soon to where he was! My bump completely changes shape and size depending where he has jammed himself. It also goes from quite soft to rock hard as well.

jellypi3 · 02/11/2015 18:19

You don't sound like you are having fun of it rufus :( pregnancy is such a wonderful time isn't it? It's all worth it right?

goneswimming · 02/11/2015 20:40

I vomited so hard the other night that I wet myself. All my underwear is ugly, and my boobs have gone past 'generous' into shapeless/endless. It baffles me how anyone would ever think that "having a baby will bring us closer together." Not that it's not magical, or that I'd change anything- but it's not glamorous or sexy, now is it?!

madsaz76 · 02/11/2015 20:56

I almost feel guilty hearing some for the symptoms some of you have Confused

I am feeling sorry for myself for a very minor issue. I am now 26 weeks and enjoying bubs being mobile. I really want to share this with DH but he's not that bothered. He felt a kick the other night and was excited but clearly sees it as "job done, box ticked".

I hate being touched by other people but I am also finding this exciting and want to be able to share it. Which means wit him - not my eager to feel sister or the millions of predatory women at work. Feels wierd to sulk about him not touching but hate anyone else coming anywhere near.

This pregnancy stuff is just plain odd.

clumsypots · 02/11/2015 21:23

Hi franny

I am definitely going to try and remember my pelvic floors after hearing some of the above!

Does anyone else get a tight feeling in their jaw when they have the tightenings? It is a very strange feeling.

Can I ask the other clexane injectors if the injection site has ever gone red and lumpy with extreme itchiness? This happened today and the red was that vivid it was showing through the overly deep purple bruise that also formed. I'm used to the bruising and a fair amount of bleeding but this is a new one for me, gp said she hadn't got a clue and to phone consultant tomorrow but I don't want to sound stupid if this is normal.

jellypi3 · 02/11/2015 21:59

clumsy someone on another thread I'm on has a similar reaction and it turned out the injection site was infected so maybe worth getting it checked.

mad I'm getting touched by so many people it's not even surprising any more. I swear my office think my belly is company property

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 02/11/2015 22:17

I did lots of lifting this evening and my bump feels so tight now :(. I wouldn't have chosen to hoik furniture about but i am trying to get my sons room finished and we had to carry his bed upstairs and rearrange all the furniture in his room. God I hope I haven't hurt the baby.

MaisieDotes · 02/11/2015 22:51

clumsy yes when I get BHs I feel them right up in my throat and under my jaw. It's a weird feeling.

Troika · 03/11/2015 07:13

Clara/gone, I also had a bit of a wee accident whilst puking the other day. Had to fess up to dp as he asked why I was changing my PJ bottoms Blush

Madsaz please don't get too upset about it. I don't normally like to generalise 'men' as a group but I think it is justified when it comes to pregnancy. They are quite disconnected from the pregnancy and do often seem to have a more detached outlook on it than we do. Many just look forward to the baby being here, and several aren't even excited about that but at the years in the future when they'll be able to play and interact with their child.

Troika · 03/11/2015 07:14

Who knew please take it easy today!!

RattyCatty · 03/11/2015 07:25

whoknew rest up today please x

NorthernChinchilla · 03/11/2015 08:08

Glad to hear the second appointment went well Mama, a step in the right direction! And hope you can find some relief Maisie. I used my support belt when doing a long walk at the park and it definitely helped, so I would recommend- even the big bit of tubi-grip is better than nothing.

Sorry to hear of all the other grim preggo bits, a huge Flowers to you all. Unless you've been there it's impossible to get across how unpleasant or disabling pregnancy can be.

haquoi123 · 03/11/2015 08:28

I second chinchilla - my heart goes out to you guys struggling.

I regularly get a little foot or leg rising to the surface, it's so adorable! A bit alien like, but adorable. I imagine he's sleeping and doesn't realise its out for mummy to tickle! DH felt it yesterday, although he's turned so it might have been a leg or shoulder.

Someone dropped off a whole load of baby things yesterday. As well as being incredibly grateful and relieved, I almost hate having the stuff in the house. I don't want any of it until the baby comes and now we're swimming in stuff that I have to sort through. Last remnants of hating anything to do with babies being blasted away I suppose...

whoknew, if you get tightenings have a rest /bath. It's probably bh and relaxing will get rid of them. Baby should be fine, it's your body that might be damaged by heavy lifting.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 03/11/2015 09:15

Baby is kicking away and I feel ok today. I can't exactly rest but thankfully nooning bloody furniture. I was a mad woman with DS's pregnancy and was wrestling sheep and sprinting across fields at 8 months. When I think back I shudder at the risks I took but at least I know you don't have to wrap yourself in cotton wool too tightly.

MaryEllen1 · 03/11/2015 09:25

Does anyone know what medication you can take when have a cold?

MamaBerg · 03/11/2015 09:43

Hi Maryellen I think the only thing we can really have is paracetamol. Try honey and lemon in hot water to soothe or some vaporub to inhale. you can have glycerol cough syrup too but always ask a pharmacist first to check you get the right one. Lots of fluids and a hot water bottle.
Feel better soon xx

clarabellski · 03/11/2015 09:44

Hi maryellen paracetamol is OK to take in pregnancy but if you can, the best cure for the cold is rest rest rest! (says the lady who has had a cold for the past week and has done anything but rest Blush)

Drink lots of fluids as well if you can Flowers

MaryEllen1 · 03/11/2015 10:08

Thanks mamaberg and Clara I'll just keep drinking plenty and see how I go.

madsaz76 · 03/11/2015 10:30

Thanks all for reassurance. I think I know that about blokes but for some reason knowing and feeling (with added hormones) are 2 different things.

For a cold - paracetamol and pampering is the only way. I don't think any of us rest up as much as we should but now you have to take care of yourself.

Having my GTT this am. Torture.

Blood tests I don't mind. The fasting not too bad. Even drinking the frankly appalling sugar syrup were ok.

But now it's out to hand around the entrance atrium to treat hospital - no comfy seats, can't drink or eat anything so can't take refuge in a coffee shop. My back aches and my arse is killing......

Thank god I have few hospital appointments - this place drives me mad.
