Oh dear madsaz that doesn't sound fun. Sad

I just got back from my 25 week midwife appt. All the tests were good. BP fine, low if anything. Heartbeat nice and strong and regular. Baby is lying across with legs on my left which explains why I only feel kicks down my left side.

Today is also a good day for the PGP. Hardly any today so the physio teaching me how to walk again must be working Smile.

MaisieDotes · 03/11/2015 14:17

That sounds crap madsaz I hate having to go to the hospital for appointments too. I have my anti-D injection on Monday and if I'm lucky I won't have to go to the hospital again until I give birth. I just see the midwives locally.

I'm just back from the osteopath and I'm feeling optimistic!! He said it is my sciatic nerve and he did some manipulation to my spine to the tune of several cracks! Hoping to see improvement over the next couple of days.

haquoi123 · 03/11/2015 14:17

I'm teaching the guitar today and the poor baby keeps thumping it! It's very distracting!

whoknew I've got images of you wrestling sheep now! Brilliant!

What's gtt mad?

I have MW at 28 weeks then Consultant and scan the next day! Then hopefully one last Consultant/scan appointment at 34 weeks. I really want my home birth. I am completely terrified of giving birth in someone's car on the way there, stuck in rush hour traffic, which is pretty much constant from 6-10am and 4-7pm Sad Knowing my bloody luck, that's exactly what will happen. Imagine the mess! Gah. The other option if I can't have a home birth is to ensure that Labour Ward will ring an ambulance to transport me there.

Off to take DD2 to the Nurse for her pre school jabs. I will be Public Enemy #1 for the rest of the week - but I have Kit Kats in my pocket to comfort bribe her with and plenty of Calpol on standby.

Spent today dashing about shopping, but now my living room is starting to look winter-y Grin And this makes me happy! New throws and new cushions, yay.

goodnightdarthvader1 · 03/11/2015 16:22

Home from work today as my iron level has finally dropped so low I've been prescribed iron tablets. I also have suspected Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Feel like crying. I can't sit up without feeling sick and faint, I've napped on and off most of the day. I only have 3.5 weeks to go until I start mat leave, so I feel I should just suck it up and get on it with it (so does my boss), but I feel awful. Got yet another blood test in 2 weeks to see if my iron levels have gone up, but I'm hoping I'll feel better long before then.

We've also got the builders in for a full house rewire so I can't even really nap in peace. Somebody tell me it will be ok!

/end rant.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 03/11/2015 16:24

haquoi Grin

I'm 26 weeks and haven't received any communication about the GGT test yet. I failed the short version last time and passed the long version (I already know my body reacts to sugar so am very careful with the stuff). Anyone know when it's normally done?

I read the other day that at 28 weeks the baby has a 90% of survival if born prematurely. I have no reason to think this baby will be early but it was a stat that made me feel better.

Don't even know when the third trimester starts. I just want to get there.

clarabellski · 03/11/2015 16:34

Hacquoi was the baby thumping in time to the guitar?!?!? That's soooo cool!

Flowers to those feeling crap. Poor you vader, hang in there!

Whoknew I was wondering this as well. Some resources say 27 weeks some say 28 weeks. Not sure if it means anything though?

CalypsoLilt · 03/11/2015 18:19

darth everything is going to be ok!! Rest as much as you can, you'll feel better as soon as you get on that iron Brew

jellypi3 · 03/11/2015 18:46

Yeah at 28 weeks the lua gd have developed enough to breath so that makes the survival rate shoot up :) makes me feel a bit happier knowing that for some reason.

jellypi3 · 03/11/2015 18:46

Lungs** no idea where lua gd came from

Sighing · 03/11/2015 18:49

Glucose tolerance - you can request a referral for the test (I did). My test isn't until 28 weeks, but it is booked). The midwife in this area requests the appointment (it's not automatic) but she was happy to do that without any sugar in wee or any such.

Franny1977 · 03/11/2015 21:19

I had that test last time because my DS was measuring large they wanted to rule out gestational diabetes.

Is it just me or 2nd time around do the appointments feel so far apart. I know there are less of them but I felt like I saw my midwife every other week after the 20wk scan last time.

Going to bed soon, said DS decided it would be a good idea to shout at 3am and keep me up and down like a yoyo to him until 4:30am, then back up again at 6:30am to go to work.

Yawn. I guess I'd have been up anyway somewhere within that hour and a half to go to the loo. That's a nightly occurrence now!

Sorry to hear if all the legitimate complaints and pains on here! Flowers

clumsypots · 03/11/2015 22:18

Thanks for the responses everyone red lumps have turned into a normal bruise today so not too worried now.

haquoi I know what you mean about the thumping being off putting, little one is loving the trumpet playing but the kicks make it slightly awkward to play!

RattyCatty · 04/11/2015 07:12

Morning everyone! Very wet in London today.

Flowers to those suffering. Hip pain woke me at 4am which hadn't happened before, normally it's just the need to wee!

I have my 27 week app with midwife today - v glad I do as have only seen GP since 20 wk scan & he (despite being lovely) knew nothing! I feel like we aren't really seen much tbh! I guess it depends on areas though.

jellypi3 · 04/11/2015 07:59

I've been seen twice since my 20w scan and have another app Friday! Annoying getting the time away from work though.

Anyone else getting pains if they overdo it. I had to run (well waddled at a speed) for my train today and afterwards had pains in my bump. Guess it was a warning to slow down?

Also on waddling, I get pain in my fanjo that's causing my waddle to be worse. Anyone else got it?

Rufus200 · 04/11/2015 08:15

Been awake since 2am, just couldn't sleep, now have terrible nausea. Had forgotten just how bad nausea was, erased week 5-15 from my memory. Either got food poisoning or it is just lack of sleep, only time will tell.

haquoi123 · 04/11/2015 08:24

clara, alas, no, not in time just yet!
clumsy another musician! My DH plays trumpet too. Although he doesn't have to deal with a squirming baby (not until it's born anyway, mwahaha)

jelly I get a pain in my fanjo, just at the top when I try to turn over in bed. It goes during the day but always there at night. And I could barely walk yesterday, despite trying to do bits of yoga to loosen me up. It's in my bum/hip muscles, they keep catching!

darth the most important thing you can do at the moment is be healthy and look after yourself. If you can't work you can't work. If it worthwhile getting signed off sick for a few days?

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 04/11/2015 08:32

rufus my nausea has returned in the mornings too! No vomming as of yet but the past two days it's been pretty close!!

haquoi123 · 04/11/2015 08:34

My osteopath told me that sometimes the baby can kick /headbutt the gall bladder which causes nausea. Maybe it's that?

OP posts:
MaisieDotes · 04/11/2015 08:37

I'm feeling so much better today. My leg is still weak and achy as is my affected hip, but the sharp pain in my back is gone. I can't believe it. After a month of pain this is amazing. I hope it lasts!!

I'm 28 weeks today Smile

clarabellski · 04/11/2015 09:15

jelly I don't get bump pain as such but get a stitch very easily, ouch! Particularly if trying to walk fast/carry heavy bags etc.

clumsy! Another trumpet player! Sadly I have not tooted since June - I felt too sick to play then have been too busy with getting house decorated etc. I now feel like I've had too big a gap to get back into it in any proper way before giving birth. Bit sad to think it will be a while before I can get back into regular playing (will require generous babysitting by someone to let me get to regular rehearsals and play gigs!). What sort of stuff do you play?

goodnightdarthvader1 · 04/11/2015 09:52

Thanks to those who gave well wishes. I've taken today off sick as well (self-cert) but I'm feeling a bit better. Still feeling faint on standing but at least I can sit up without feeling horrible!

Will probably go back to work tomorrow but taking today as a much needed rest.

clumsypots · 04/11/2015 10:11

haquoi just randomly jab him in the stomach while he is playing, he will get the idea Grin!

clara I didn't play through my last pregnancy and I really missed it so I'm trying my best to keep going although I have knocked the marching on the head for now. I play all sorts really mainly wind band but some big band and classical too. Starting my annual panic about the last post for Sunday! What sort of stuff do you play?

Glad you are feeling a bit better good

NorthernChinchilla · 04/11/2015 10:20

Yep jelly, I get the round ligament pain if I try anything excessive like getting up too quickly Hmm, or what can only be described as a stitch all over my bump when walking home, which is up a massive hill.

Can't believe the nausea has returned for some of you, that's so unfair!

Booking in a tour of the primary school we want DS to attend, and the two potential nurseries for DD, for later this month. The organising continues!
