Just briefly caught up (and off to bed now) and will do a full round up tomorrow.

I'm not sure that there's anything specific that you could get her till; whopping granny knickers are needed but not exactly present material!! If she's bf, then lots of biscuits to nibble and means she doesn't have to move for more...

haquoi123 · 31/10/2015 07:51

Morning all!

How're you doing gone?

I'm so out of touch with makeup I had to look up touche eclat Confused I'm afraid I'm useless, I've no idea what I'd want let alone what someone else might. I bought my step mum breast pads... (requested by her sister, so not a completely terrible present!)

I've got a singing gig tomorrow and did final rehearsal with my trio yesterday. Bloody hell, all my stomach muscles felt like they'd ripped by the end of it, so painful! Rest today then trying to fit into my concert dress for tomorrow (luckily empire line, but another week and it wouldn't have fit)

26 weeks today!

We've just found out that DH gets a month Paternity Leave as standard Grin This has made my day!

goneswimming · 31/10/2015 08:49

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. I'm finding waiting for mum's diagnosis really hard but that's to be expected, my lovely husband is doing an incredible job of support though. He surprises me every day by understanding a bit more than I thought he did.
In good news, I won an eBay auction for a chicco (yay!) So Rufus you can go for it without me bidding against you, and we think we've found a very cheap second hand bugaboo. So we can put it all to one side now until January when we'll buy the soft bits- clothes and muslins, sheets and baby towels!

haquoi123 · 31/10/2015 09:45

Have you got long to wait gone? I've got my fingers crossed for you.

I've just picked up a whole load of bumgenius nappies (I think pocket ones?) from freegle thinking it would just be a couple. There's like a whole set, two bags worth, with enough liners to last us years and reusable liners as well (and a very surprised spider)! Might even take us from newborn... What luck! Not sure if you need wraps with them, I think they're pocket nappies. Now for a bit of research into how to actually use them!

OP posts:
TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 31/10/2015 13:02

I'm ordering a lot of nappies next week! I can't wait. Although I have gone down the boring route of just buying plain white covers. Far cheaper that way. It's all sat in my eBay basket ready to check out on Wednesday!

10 Little Bloom Newborns (pocket nappies) with 2 microfibre inserts each (which will be used as boosters when baby is big enough for the BTP size)

24 Little Bloom BTP pocket nappies with no inserts (ordering separately)

20 full size microfibre inserts
20 microfibre and bamboo inserts

10 terry towelling squares in 40cm
10 terry towelling squares in 50cm

15 nappi nippas (I'm the sort that will lose the buggers constantly)

It'll mean I have a very large stash, lots of different material inserts to play around with plus the terry flat nappies. Possibly have too much stuff, but in total its come to £250 for the lot, birth to potty, with the ability to sell on to recoup money or keep for another baby or pass on to family/friends/charity.

IslaMann · 31/10/2015 15:59

Just made our biggest baby purchase- a new (to us) car! Currently we have a small 2 seater that DSD(12) can just about squeeze into the back of, and 6foot tall DS has no chance! Our family car died a few months ago and we haven't been able to afford to replace it until our house sale goes through. But thanks to a surprise PPI compensation claim payout we are now the proud owners of a MPV.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 31/10/2015 20:14

Isla Wooooo for a new car! We've been car-less for a while now, and need a 7 seater. The expense is astronomical though.

Anyone else had flu jab yet? I had mine Tuesday (first time ever) and woke up this morning feeling like rancid arse.

And I've got stupid amounts of stuff to do to finish the revamp of DDs room Sad

madsaz76 · 31/10/2015 23:00

Flu jabbed monday - no ill effects at all. You probably have a virus or something (no live bugs in a flu vaccine).

Spent today packing away my pre-bump clothes in vacuum bags to go in the loft. Have wide range of sizes as went from size 18 to 12/14 in year before pregnancy and now daren't get rid till I know where I will end up. I have way too many clothes so 4 bags to charity shop too. Very traumatic and still tons of sorting to do.

Think DH may have to lose some clothes too. And definitely gadget crap. House full to seams

haquoi123 · 01/11/2015 06:29

Exciting about the car, isla!! Even better when is from a pocket of money you weren't expecting

I've just woken from a constant all-night fan about how to use those sodding nappies!! I honestly don't think there was anything else to it... Confused

haquoi123 · 01/11/2015 06:30

*dream, not fan!

OP posts:
jellypi3 · 01/11/2015 08:22

Yeah I had the flu jab last week and was absolutely fine

Sighing · 01/11/2015 08:31

Dream about nappies! Excellent. I had a dream about my tiny baby (aw, first one really) needing a bath and enjoying swishing him (I was in the bath too) around and scooping him out for a big cosy fluffy towel cuddle. I woke up and had a little cry at the lovelyness of it.
We're looking at the 7 seaters too. Which particular model are you thinking? The Galaxy is great, but not sure the extra cost is that justified (though admittedly my fords have always been reliable).

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 01/11/2015 09:54

I like the Galaxy too, and the Picasso. I'm totally clueless about cars, I know nothing Blush DSS is man sized and we'll need space for 3 permanent car seats, possibly a 4th as we take DNiece and/or DNeph out a lot with us too (currently we herd them all onto a bus!) DSS is only with us EOW (we're rural, his DMs is very close to the City and being a teen he prefers being there on weekends now)

Definitely have a cold/virus of some form. Spent most of the night awake, snotty, coughing, sore throat. I'm staying in bed watching Greys Anatomy.

Sighing · 01/11/2015 10:34

The (grand) picasso is what I'm looking at (2012/13) at the moment as you appear to get more for your money.
I'm going to test drive both new .... I could feed back!

Franny1977 · 01/11/2015 23:30

Hi all,

How do I join you ladies? Not sure how this thread works. Due 9th Feb with number 2 DS just turned 2.

Troika · 02/11/2015 06:38

Welcome Franny Smile just dive straight in.

I had a limb poking out of me at the weekend for the first time this pregnancy. Was lying in bed and ran my hand over my bump where it felt a bit stretched, only to realise there was a little lump I could actually take hold of. Funny how I can cope with all the movements and everything else but that does gross me out a bit!

RattyCatty · 02/11/2015 07:09

Amazing Troika!

Welcome Fanny!

Back to school today! Backache creeping in - hoping the result of a bit of DIY!

jellypi3 · 02/11/2015 08:19

I've had a few occasions of poking limbs, it's crazy. Mostly when I poke my belly and feel an arm or leg recoil. I love it! Makes me want to poke all day lol.

NorthernChinchilla · 02/11/2015 09:31

It's V day today finally! I'm still in the wiggle and odd hearty whack set up, though with DS I don't remember ever feeling or seeing what was obviously a limb/foot/hand.
Welcome Franny!

That's amazing Isla, how lucky! Can we have some of your good fortune?
We're still waiting to put the car in post crash and see if it gets written off Sad Extra expense we could do without pre baby and bloody Xmas....

MamaBerg · 02/11/2015 10:11

Wow, I just had a lot of catching up reading to do! Congrats on V day Chinchilla.

Welcome Fanny.

Update on my second physio on Friday. I felt much better after seeing this one. She knew what she was on about and made me feel so much better. She basically taught me how to walk, stand up/ sit down and generally maneuver about! I felt a bit silly but hopefully it will start easing the pain a bit now. I didn't get a support belt but I will look into getting one if I don't see much improvement. I was trying really hard to put into practice what I was told but then went and overdid it yesterday. Ripping up turf to add a new border and planting bulbs before its too late, then retouching painting where DH had missed bits! I will rest more now I'm at work though!!

Moving offices today as I am currently up 6 flights of stairs with no lift. Its 3 flights just to get to the loo. Just now need to rope someone in to do all the carrying for me!

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 02/11/2015 10:11

I never felt a foot or an elbow with DS. I think it might have been because I had an anterior placenta. I'm kind of hoping I might get to experience that this time.

Does anyone find that some days their bump feels big, other days tiny? I've felt positively whale like the last three days, lots of low down pressure. Today I hardly feel pregnant and my bump looks tiny. Do you think it's just the baby changing position?

Franny1977 · 02/11/2015 10:32

Thanks for the welcomes all!!

Yes! I've just been thinking my bump feels smaller today (but I couldn't go so far as to say tiny)!

I am feeling a lot more movement and full on kicks this time than last. Is it because the elasticity in the tummy is completely shot so now we feel every bump and movement? I didn't see any limbs sticking out last time either I'm kinda hoping for this freaky experience this time!!

MaisieDotes · 02/11/2015 12:09

Hi franny Smile

My bump is usually ok in the morning and humongous before bed. I've only had fleeting bump movements that are visible from outside. I keep thinking I haven't felt the baby move for ages but as soon as I have that thought and concentrate for a few minutes then I usually feel movement.

I've bitten the bullet and made an appointment to see an osteopath tomorrow. The exercises I got from the Physio have become increasingly hard to do, to the point that I've had to give up on some entirely.

I spoke to the osteopath on the phone this morning and he said he'd assess me and tell me straight out if he couldn't help me. So fingers crossed he'll be able to do something. I'm desperate at this stage.

I went into the city centre in Saturday with DH and DS and when I came back I was in absolute bits, I nearly missed one lot of tick or treaters because it took me so long to get up and hobble to the door (about 3 metres). I have also totally lost the ability to walk up stairs normally and have to go up with two feet on to one step at a time, and at a snails pace. Frustrating Angry

MaryEllen1 · 02/11/2015 13:29

Welcome franny

This weekend DP finally managed to feel LO kick, I got a little bit emotional, as you do lol, also discovered after watching that you can see my belly move now when he kicks and punches! Has just started to be a lot more active and it is such a great feeling, am 23+2 today and feeling him a lot makes it all more real Grin

Hope everyone is well!!
