25 week bump pic. Only problem with the sign is you can't take selfies as it puts all the text as a mirror image, so had to get DH to take pics and most of them he just took of my big arse!

CalypsoLilt · 25/10/2015 12:02

thanks troika, yeh both the bumgenius and bambooty are all-in-ones... I've heard good things about the Close Pop-ins pockets for newborns so will get half a dozen of them... then I'm all done until next pay day

I don't have a tumble drier and I've talked myself out of getting one because of the running costs, going to get this instead www.lakeland.co.uk/21736/Dry-Soon-3-Tier-Heated-Tower-Airer

Was planning on using the LL bamboo just for nights and then the others for the daytimes. So just wet pail the liners and little lambs if needed, yeh?

Can't wait for my haul of birth-to-potty stuff to arrive from Tiny Nippers!

clumsypots · 25/10/2015 13:06

Thanks for the car seat base advice everyone, gives me more options to look at.

It was v day for me yesterday but spent the whole day feeling miserable, I'm blaming the hormones and the flu injection which meant I couldn't sleep on my left hand side the night before.

XingXingFox · 25/10/2015 17:56

I've gained 28 pounds so definitely not average! But I'm slim to start with and on track with my previous pregnancy. I just don't care really, I'll work hard to lose it.

V day here and a comiting virus for all three of us. Feel like it's a bit of a struggle these days! Was just starting to feel better.

So sorry to all those with insomnia, that totally sucks! There was an article in the guardian today about tips for sleeping in pregnancy and they were all rubbish!

Happytimes2 · 25/10/2015 18:57

At 25weeks I weigh less then last Xmas because I'd lost weight before getting pregnant!
I've noticed something odd. I never seem to get much movement when I'm at work. I'm on my feet most of the time running up and down the ward so there is chance I just don't notice. I work shifts so it makes it hard to establish patterns should I be worried? Anyone else get the same?

MaryEllen1 · 25/10/2015 20:15

Went to the baby show today got some good bargains and to look at things we want to get to see if they were worth it.

happy I'm the same baby seems to move most early morning and at night when I'm relaxing

NorthernChinchilla · 25/10/2015 21:00

Same here happy, I rarely notice anything at work as I'm so busy, the odd emphatic thwack aside. Active times tend to be morning, late afternoon/early evening and late evening, though of course these are also generally the periods I would actually get enough time to stop to feel her moving about!

Could have done with more support today... DP got up with DS in the night, so I gave him a big lie-in on 'my' day, partly as I don't appear to be able to. He did a couple of dump runs as I did a load of cooking with DS, but I really needed to put my feet up this afternoon especially as the PGP was causing me to squeak and limp, but somehow still ended up going to the park and sorting out a three course meal for six Hmm....

NorthernChinchilla · 25/10/2015 21:02

And blimey rufus you look enviably slender with your bump; think my first trimester bloat was more extensive!

RattyCatty · 25/10/2015 22:09

Yes rufus you look great!

haquoi123 · 25/10/2015 22:23

Happy V-day!!

rufus I think my bump is about 3 times bigger than yours :s! I was 25 weeks yesterday!

I never weigh myself (don't own scales) and the midwives haven't weighed me since my booking appointment, so I have no idea what I've put on. I tend to judge it by how obvious my double chin is :) however, I am eating enough for 4 people, I feel like such a pig!

Rufus200 · 25/10/2015 23:17

Thank you ladies for all the bump complements, makes me feel better about the 15kg weight gain. My boobs have tripled in size so quite a it of weight has gone into them. It is DH's and my 10 year anniversary tomorrow and I'm going to try and make myself look presentable. I got a pretty sparkly maternity dress and have got my eczema 90% better. Unfortunately I have the sniffles and that has caused an outbreak of small spots all over my top lip, up the side of my nose and on it. I just can't win! Also sleeping in my crops top has caused me to develop boils on both shoulders where the straps are.

happy I only notice movement in the morning and evening, either he isn't active when I am or I'm just too busy to pay any attention. He did kick a few times today while I was painting cupboard doors with toxic primer and I felt really bad about what I was exposing him to.

MaryEllen what bargains did you get? I love a good bargain!

MaryEllen1 · 26/10/2015 06:26

Happy anniversary rufus Thanks

What didn't we get lol.. We got a Chicco next to me crib for £100, tommee tippee perfect prep machine and the essentials starter kit both £50 each. An activity gym reduced to half price for £35 and loads more lol think cos it was the last day of the show they were trying to get rid of a lot of stuff, it was a little bit crazy in there!! ConfusedSmile

Sighing · 26/10/2015 07:53

Rats. I've just found out my aunt has charity donated all of the reusable nappies I had loaned to her daughter. Sad She's offered to replace them, but I am not sure she can afford to right now. Technically I can but so much for the money saved. To be honest the situation is as depressing as the thought she was convinced I'd never be using them. The fear of the future of this pregnancy has come swooping back in the night and I'm annoyed with my negative brain.

Sighing · 26/10/2015 07:55

(Is not as depressing).
Yuck. Cake today and a long drive for a break with my DD's. Somewhere I will find the cheer again.

Rufus200 · 26/10/2015 08:09

MaryEllen I'm impressed and jealous, the perfect prep was
£70 when I was there! I would have definitely snapped it up at £50!

Sighing That is naughty of your aunt to not ask you 1st! I've turned down borrowing baby clothes and small items as they will just get mixed in with mine and I will forget to return them. Hope you will have a nice day today.

CalypsoLilt · 26/10/2015 08:51

oh sighing that's awful on both counts! :( there's still plenty of time to build up a new stash and the second hand market for cloth is (apparently) really slow right now so great time to pick up some bargains.

Has anyone had their 25 week MW appointment yet? When do they start measuring bumps?

Troika · 26/10/2015 09:05

Oh no sighing, I would be gutted if that happened. I'm gutted enough that my cousin got rid of one of my wrap slings after I lent it to her.

Rufus honestly the way you've talked about yourself I was not expecting you to be as slim and toned as that! Gorgeous bump Smile

Troika · 26/10/2015 09:16

Ooh calypso I just remembered that for newborns kissaluvs size 0 and swaddlebees organic cotton velour size 0 are just adorable. They only fit for a couple of months but if you can find any second hand they are so cute! I think they've both been discontinued now which is a shame.

jellypi3 · 26/10/2015 09:21

i had mine calyspo, my bump is measure 2 weeks ahead...

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 26/10/2015 09:24

I had mine last week at 23 weeks and she said it was too early to measure. My next appnt is December.

MaisieDotes · 26/10/2015 09:48

Where I am you alternate between midwife/ consultant and GP so I saw my GP at 24 weeks. She didn't measure my bump though.

My bump is massive, although not so much when lying down which is how they measure you.

Troika · 26/10/2015 10:03

Mine's not til 28 weeks. I think they measure by then but can't really remember.

TillITookAnArrowToTheKnee · 26/10/2015 10:36

24 weeks today!

Currently in the cinema with DDs, DSis and DNeph watching Minions. I'm having popcorn and vanilla coke for my breakfast. I'm allowed, right?!

However. I've just choked on popcorn and sneezed at the same time, showing the poor bloke in front of me in snot and popcorn Blush dying of shame

Ah well. I plan to console myself at Reds True Barbecue for lunch and eat all the meat and cheese.

sighing Thats really bloody cheeky and I would take the money to get them replaced, bollocks to if she can afford it or not, that's the risk she took when she gave away a borrowed item! I'm Shock at her! I've had every baby item returned to me over the years, usually accompanied with my favourite chocolates as a thanks, I can't believe the nerve of some people.

Re: appointments. I have MW tomorrow and Consultant at 28 weeks. That's because I'm high risk though. My GPs surgery still haven't sent the paperwork that Peri Natal Psych have requested so someones getting The Death Stare tomorrow.

MamaBerg · 26/10/2015 10:50

Hi all.
It's V-day for me today. Not sure if that is reassuring or just plain terrifying!! Really looking forward to seeing the physio tomorrow, hopefully will be the start of the end of so much pain just existing right now. Got an appointment with the midwife next week (25+1) and I'm expecting to be measured then. The sonographer said I would be when she did the 20 week scan Smile

MaryEllen1 · 26/10/2015 11:10

Rufus it was crazy, people grabbing the perfect prep and rushing to the tills!

How annoying Sighing that your aunt gave your stash away, I suppose its a good excuse to go spending and buy some new ones....

have my midwife appointment next week at 23 weeks hope she measure the bump its good to know where you're at I guess...
