Morning everyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CaptainDippy · 28/11/2006 10:10

Bugmum - [[hugs] Poor thing - hope this cold doesn't last long ..... Totally sympathise with the screeching thing - DD1 used to do that - she was aaaages to speak; but if it is any consulation, DD2 never screeches and her language command is much better than DD1's was at her age - So your 2nd will probably give you a reprieve!!

I'm too maveta - my scan's not til 20/12, sigh!!

My Bump looks v.cute today -

doghouse · 28/11/2006 10:38

Congrats to CFK and Liath on the blue beans! Liath - sorry about the complications but thank goodness you already know about them. Katy44 & Bramshott - congrats on scans too! Hope I haven't missed anyone.

Just had my 22 wk midwife appt. - all blood results confirmed as low risk (I already knew that for SB and Downs) which was good news. Measured 'bang on' for dates which was good too.

Does anyone else go blank when you get to these appts and they ask if you have any questions?! I am sure I should have asked more.

Lovely sunny day here - hope all well with you all . Off shopping in a moment for inspiration for Christmas and maybe just a little something for bean's arrival!

CaptainDippy · 28/11/2006 10:41

Glad the appointment went well Doghouse ... Completely know what you mean about the Q's - I just sit there, grinning innanely and everything goes completely out of my head .....

CaptainDippy · 28/11/2006 10:41

I've taken to writing a list and handing it over to the mw at the end of session ....

CornflakeKid · 28/11/2006 11:07

My midwife is pretty blank anyway so even when do ask question she just smiles and nods knowingly!

Am going to embark on washing my sisters baby boy stuff today so can see what I have - then can write a list for the Jan sales! Look out Baby Gap - here I come!

My parents have now left but have been quite helpful - have 45 minutes peace and quiet before need to collect ds2. DH bought the boys the Cars DVD to celebrate finding out having another boy so I think will snuggle downt his afternoon and watch it with him.

Hope everyone else having a nice day

CaptainDippy · 28/11/2006 11:24

My MW is so blank - I'm changing her ..... !!

Enjoy your snuggling and DVD watching - I'm off to work in the pouring rain - Joy!!

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2006 12:43

Hi all, well my hope of a good nights' sleep did not happen. Dd woke up coughing her head off at 2.30 poor love. She managed to drop off again quite quickly, but I was awake for hours! Feel knackered today and am at work and busy! The joys!!
Bugmum, sorry you are feeling ropy - there are so many bugs going about at the moment. Hope you can have a rest today.
So, any scan news yet from anyone??
Hope everyone is feeling ok, and I'll drop in again later on.
Anyone heard from MIAM - she hasn't been on for a while.
xx

maveta · 28/11/2006 12:56

Oh I feel horrible! Dh has just found out his mum has her operation (post chemo) booked for right in the middle of our holiday and he wants to come home early and leave me to visit with my friends on my own.
I KNOW he is a good son, he really is, but we haven't had a holiday in such a long time and probably won't for a long time either. He already takes it in turns with one of his sisters to go over a couple of times a week before work (she lives 30 mins drive from us) and help get her up and ready for the day. He has another sister (who does very little due to having a small baby) and a brother who lives too far away to do anything (although funnily enough he used to be home every weekend when his girlfriend lived in the same village. Now he's broken up with her and it's just his sick mother he barely makes it home once every couple of months).
I know I'm being so uncharitable and selfish but I burst into tears when he told me although I have since called to tell him of course he has to do what he has to do and I support him blah blah fucking blah.
I am just annoyed that his mum actually said she really wanted him there when he is ALWAYS there for her and she would have her 3 other children AND her own sisters, brother, friends etc etc etc around. AND if he just finished his holiday he would only arrive 4 days after the op anyway.
Oh sod it. I am such a bitch

Bugmum · 28/11/2006 13:12

I have been concerned about MIAM, as well. I know she has her scan booked for the same day as mine (5th), so it won't be that keeping her away.

Maveta - I understand totally how you must feel, and how resentful, but at least he is likely to bring up loving children, iyswim? That might be of no help at all at the moment, but perhaps a comfort later on? Or possibly not

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2006 13:42

Oh Maveta, I can totally understand - how disappointing, but a real tricky situation - esp for your dh - stuck in the middle somewhat.
Perhaps someone else can step in to the breach for those few days so you can still have your full holiday.
x

Tili · 28/11/2006 13:44

Hi

Congrats to all who had scans.Liath try not to worry to much about it(easir said than done I know) Im sure everything will be fine.

I hope everyone else is doing ok sorry theres not many personals just popiing in briefly got sooooo much to do.

hopfully I can catch up properly with you all tomorrow

take care chicksxxxxxxxx

liath · 28/11/2006 14:06

Hi everyone,

Things are moving fast here - got a phonecall this morning asking if I could come in straight away for another scan ! Still not clear what is going on but the consultant doesn't think it is duodenal atresia (which seemed likely after yesterdays scan) but saw calcification in the bowel wall which is linked to various things - cystic fibrosis is one and that is in DH's side of the family (his sister has CF). On the bright side 80-90% of babies with this sign on ultrasound turn out totally normal (yes, I confess have been on the internet.......). We have to see a geneticist tomorrow and amniocentesis has been mentioned.

So...still more questions than answers! I guess there's a few of us in the same boat of having to wait & see regarding various scans and results so at least I'm not alone! Looks like my nice cosy homebirth could be out of the window but these things happen.

pesha · 28/11/2006 14:13

Well...so much has happened, there is so much to say and i remember nothing!! Problem is I keep popping in and reading posts but not having the time to post so now i have come back to post I cant remember anything and if I read through it all again it'll be time to go get dd and I wont have time to post again. AAARGH.
Think I just melted my brain!

Ok have just scanned through and made notes - really sorry if I miss anything/one!

Katy44-sorry you couldnt find out a colour, I wiould have been gutted if they'd told me that once id made up my mind I wanted to know. But it will be such a lovely suprise at the end! (And we will all be much more interested in your birth announcement!! )

Liath - congrats on a blue bean, YAY! Sorry they spotted a possible problem, hope its all ok at next scan and you manage not to worry too much! Not that im the best person to listen to on that front!!

CFK - congrats on another boy, the sausages are making a come back!!

Bramshott - glad bean was all well. Sorry was abit worrying for you with her talking of clots, know nothing about um thingy lakes ( sorry, crap note taking!) but hope you get reassurance at your next appointment.

1b3 - sorry you had shitty weekend, I cant really offer any advice, or nothing that hasn't already been said anyway, but thinking of you and you must think of you too and try not to let this bring you down too much, easier said than done I know

WCL - how was your birthday no 2?! Hope you had a great day.

Have also been wondering where MIAM is, hope everythings ok.

Has anyone else found there bump is moving around? Sometimes when i wake up my whole bump has shifted nearly 3 inches upwards above my belly button, sometimes will be really low, it moves from left to right and from front to back, sometimes sticking out much more than other times. Never had this before, could it just be cos this is my 3rd so everything is much looser in there? Seems very weird to me.

geordiemacminx · 28/11/2006 14:14

Hey Liath - hope everything goes ok for you. Where did you have your private scan? Are you going to NHS for repeat scan etc?

heidle · 28/11/2006 14:15

wow liath, you sound so calm! If it was me i'd be panicking and crying! Well done on sounding so positive when you must be really worried. Although I suppose until they find something or nothing for definite you can't tell what to worry about! I hope you get a load more positive information very very soon.
HUGS

maveta · 28/11/2006 14:19

Good luck at the consultant Liath and of course everyone else who is waiting for clarification after scans..hope all goes well for all of you.
Thanks for the sympathy, am feeling very sorry for myself indeed, it's really quite pathetic
The thing is, his brother is coming over for the op and one of his sisters is taking time off work so people will be around both to support and look after her. I can understand that he wants to be there, I guess I just wish his family would give him the go ahead. I know if they said he should go ahead and enjoy this last holiday together, he can take his turn looking after her when he gets back etc etc etc, he would go and feel relieved to be 'allowed' and have their backing. But instead they're all saying 'ooh, it's a hard one, you have to decide' so of course he feels he will be the shitty one if he doesn't stay. Regardless of all he does on a regular basis to help out.
His older sister said 'well it would be good if you were here, I mean seeing as we (her and their other sister) have children'!!

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2006 14:20

Liath, thinking of you hun, and hope you get some answers soon.
Hello GMM, Heidle and Pesha. x

CornflakeKid · 28/11/2006 14:47

Big hugs Liath - fingers crossed all is well xoxoxoxox

Maveta - maybe you could arrange an additional little holiday for later - I'm sure a romantic weekend away must be on the books if he goes back early to see his mum.

Pesha - this is my third as well and I can tell easily where he is - esp in the morning when he snuggles up right at the top close to my heart aaahhhhh!

Just eaten a whole packet of jaffa cakes!!

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2006 15:06

CFK - a whole packet!! Good on you girl! It is a girls birthday at work today, so I have indulged in an enormous jam doughnut. V lovely, but I have got bloody indigestion!!

1becomes3 · 28/11/2006 15:24

Afternoon all, I have had a mega clean today, my dad took DD to her toddlers club, actually giving me some time to clean, and clean I did.
Apparently we have DH deliquent nephew coming to stay with us for 3 days every week for a few months! great

I have told DH that his nephew is here to work not go to the pub and get pissed every night, as I don't and won't be cleaning up his sick, shit and piss (which is what happens when this boy drinks.)
Althought there is only 6 years age gap between me and The nephew I will be laying down the law to him! Oh what a nag I am.

Me thinks there will be a few intresting tale on their way from this little idea of my DH.

Bugmum- I feel you pain with the screeching, my DD does it all the time, she can't talk either it drives me bloody mad as I never know what she is on about.

Is there no one who lives in the London area around? All these meet ups are so far from where I live.
I feel all lonely [feeling sorry for myself emotion]

Tili · 28/11/2006 15:26

Hi

managed to pop back on.
will be thinking of you Liath xxx
CFK did the bump make you eat all those jaffa cakes? my bump makes me eat lots, my Dh said I eat like a woman possessed, since my ms has gone food has never tasted so good.My bump tells me that we must eat and we must eat now

Thinking about it though pregnancy is kind of like a form of possession isnt it,you know the vomiting in the kitchen sink the insane ramblings either to yourself or to other people who you know are only bothering to listen because there to scared to leave the room incase your pg hormnes make you fly into a rage
Actually maybe all that is just me maybe I will seek help

maveta · 28/11/2006 15:49

ummmm..now I really want to gorge on something after reading of doughnuts and jaffa cakes...how will I hold on til home time??

Girls just a quick question - is there any real difference between a long sleeved body suit and a sleepsuit (long sleeved)??
In amongst the things mum bought are a couple of each and they look like essentially the same item with a different name..or am I missing something??
If they are different - how will I know which is a sleepsuit and which is a body suit?! And more importantly do you still put a short sleeved bodysuit under a long sleeved one i.e. instead of an outfit (with a jumper or whatever on top) or not?
Do you put short sleeved suits on under sleepsuits?
Mainly - who tells you how to dress your baby???!!!

Sexonlegs · 28/11/2006 15:51

1becomes3, I have to say, what a pain in the arse for you having dh's nephew over. Sorry to sound rude, but I can't think that is really what you need in your "state". Someone else to worry about and clear up after - good luck. I just hope your dh helps out you poor love.

bubblez · 28/11/2006 15:52

Hiya all,

Good luck laith at the your apt..... I hope that they can clear things up for you (and give you some good news)..... fingers crossed and let us know how it goes.

PMSL Tilli @ being possessed... You are definately not alone. Dp addmitted the other day that he is quite scared of me and worried about his safety as i am a hormonal emotional minefield........

I think that bump wants me to end this pregnancy fat and bald (very attractive)as it's making me loose loads of hair and fancy loads of unhealthy shite...

21+1

Greengirlforever · 28/11/2006 15:54

Maveta - A bodysuit would normally have no legs - a sleepsuit would. We will be having April babies (and aren't you in Spain anyway or is that someone else !) and you really would only need one or the other. If the weather is really warm a short-sleeved bodysuit and shade from the sun is all you will require! Don't make the mistake of piling the layers onto the poor little mite if the weather is warm or mild. For a first-timer I would just get a few of each "thing" and you will soon see what you want to use more of once LO is here.

LIATH - thinking of you.
