Oh and yes to people randomly touching you. P'd me off last time..

And people commenting on your size. Constantly!! I need some cutting comments for this time, it really got me down last time. Hmm

I was all bump and everyone kept saying 'are you sure it's not twins' 'wow you're really big'. When else (other than pregnancy) would any one ever say the latter and think it's okay to comment..?!

It's hard enough to cope with everything pregnancy throws at you without people basically saying you look like a massive whale.

Oh and Mrs Martin- I'm not telling anyone about my home birth. Except Dh (obvs!) and my mum (for childcare purposes). My dad would freak, but they're divorced which is quite helpful in this scenario!

I've also not shared my due date with anyone except Dh.. Everyone went crazy lady time so I've given them a window instead. Wink

Good luck today MissMartin!

And I'll second that ugh for Monday morning, coffee Sad

Anyone else really struggling with mornings in general?

Report
mrschatty · 10/08/2015 08:34

lilly I'm struggling today- do annulised hours so 11hr today and then time back tomorrow I sooooo can't do it.
Who said does anyone else not like drunk people...ME.
Last night DH and DF drunk and really really getting on my last nerve I ended up walking out the house. I get a 'red mist of rage' and seem to have 0 patience for drunk annoying people right now!!

Thigh stretch marks are barely visible now so don't really mind them. Don't think my mum had any belly stretch marks but I guess it's a 50% chance whether I take after her haha! But skin dries out really easily so keeping it moisturised regardless.

Another uh it's Monday here too! Back to work after a nice week off, dreading all the cr*p and politics I'm going back to... Also cannot wait to finish in December, had decided to either leave or TTC after getting skipped over for a promotion that was promised to me in the new year, so the count down to December is really dragging! Feel for all those having work issues, mine are silly in comparison.

Really hoping we finally get some news on our house move today too Hmm

I find drunk people really annoying anyway so being upduffed has made my tolerance levels totally disappear! Definitely agree to having a 'red mist of rage'. And then DH tells me to 'calm down' or 'chill out'. Does he realise saying those words makes me do the exact opposite? Silly boy!

Got my 16 week midwife appointment this morning, at 17wk + 6 days! I think it's at half 9 but I'm going to set off in a minute just in case I remembered wrongly! Blush Baby brain!

Hi hope it's ok to join.. I'm Jade.. Got pregnant within a month of trying.. With baby number 2.. Baby number 1 is Khiana who is now 3 and 1/2 who was with my ex.. Now 17 +3 with my partner of 3 years and we couldn't be happier.. But struggling with this pregnancy a lot more than first.. I just constantly feel terrible.. Been having terrible migraines.. But have started feeling little 'bing' (what my daughter named bump) moving this last week and forgot what a magical feeling it is :) Anyway enough of me moaning had a few questions.. Do you think it's bad luck to buy a lot of baby stuff now? I bought a brand new cot bed mattress for my daughter who is 3 it's still on pretty good condition would you still buy a new one for second child? Also really need some name ideas.. Still don't know what we're having but struggling to agree on names xx

Morning All and welcome Jade!

Ugh Mondays are the worst.... had very little sleep last night, DH snoring like a train and mme with hip pain again, means i am on another planet this morning, i just cannot wake up. May need to treat myself to a coffee lol!

In other news..... my MIL jus text to say our cot bed has just been delivered! giddy!! (We got it sent to her house for storage purposes lol)

Feel quite sicky again today for some reason and have just been asked by an employee if i am 'eating healthily'.... why does being pregnant mean that everyone thinks they can comment on your diet?!

and as for unauthorised bump touchers...... chop their hands off!!! grrrrrrrrr lol!

Welcome Jade, your wee DD is so cute!

My mum had no stretch marks from two DC. I'm hoping for the same genes!

By the way, I read somewhere to make sure you don't have loads of cream/oil on your bump for scans - the ultrasound struggle to get through it. For my 12 week I just did no cream/oil for a few days beforehand and had a really clear scan. Need to remember to do the same for 20 wk scan.

Lily I'm totally struggling with mornings at the moment - takes me ages to come to properly. Luckily I'm on summer hols, though I need to get up way too early at normal work time three days this week, not looking forward to that, but feel incredibly lucky to be off most of the time.

Oh and I'm getting quite good at intercepting bump touchers with one hand - just having to remember to go into hugs one-handed.

18w today!

Welcome jade . Dd is so cute!

I'm feeling a bit bluergh today, all headachy. Really hoping to feel some proper kicks soon, been feeling some movements but it could easily be wind!

Pregnancy seems to be dragging at the moment. Got another 22.5weeks or there abouts! Next midwife appointment in Monday, it's my 16week appointment but I'll be 18+2, do you think it matters?

Welcome jae, Khiana's adorable Smile Sorry you've been having a rough time so far, migraines suck. I can't advise on the cot I'm afraid as I'm a ftm and no idea what I'm doing!

A friend texted to offer her cot to us this morning so looks like we might actually tick our first thing off the list for free (mattress aside, of course). I got a bit depressed looking through the shops / Mothercare catalogue at the weekend, there's so much lovely stuff out there that I know we can't afford, and being in a one bed flat we don't even have a room to prepare. The rational part of my head is saying it's fine because better to save for our little one to have nicer stuff later (when he or she actually wants / remembers it!) but I do feel a bit sad that we won't have lots of shiny new things for our first DC.

I'm a work now but feel like I'm dragging myself through mud. Only a few hours here as I have a half day to go to an appointment but so tempted just to go back home and sleep until then!!

Hi lily.. Thankfully I don't work atm I stay at home with dd if I did I would have definitely had the last 2 weeks off!.. We don't have lots of money either and live in 2 bed so did gother own room and baby will be in with us..I'm not too fussy with second hand stuff aslong as in good condition.. Only a few bits like bottles mattress ect have to be brand new in my eyes.. Luckily I have a very supportive family mum bought my Moses basket yesterday and sister bought my cot bedding have cot bed from dad but still debating the mattress.. In love with the olive and Henri range at toys r us.. Which is on offer Atm.. But I always say other than the essentials main thing a child needs is time & love :) x

Thanks for support folks. Can't remember who asked about strategies to reduce anxiety, but there are some good free CBT walk throughs online. Try googling mood juice.

Welcome new ladies!

My God mornings are the worst! I've never been a morning person but at the moment my waking routine seems to be to half wake up, argue with myself that I need to move, fall back to sleep before I can consider that, repeat... For ages. Half of me thinks I'm lucky to work from home when I feel like this as I can get a little extra time and make it up elsewhere. But also I think it would be good to have a more strict routine.

Good luck for scans and appointments today!

Cramps still there today - very low down and heavy. Called midwife and they want me to call in to check the heartbeat. Just been to the loo and had a bit of stringy brownish discharge when I wiped Sad the sooner it gets to this afternoon the better....so scared

Just found you all on the new thread. Hello to the newbies. I used mama mio tummy butter and no stretch marks but neither did my mum so I'm sure genetics are a big part. I used bio oil on my c section scar and even midwife struggled to find it this time so would definitely recommend bio oil.
Good luck with all the scans this week.

Hope it all goes ok Yokyil.

I think my blood pressure is playing silly buggers. Over the weekend I felt my legs start to go from under me a couple of times. Luckily I was near the sofa/bed etc. for a sit down. It went pretty quickly after a sit down and a drink, but happened again in the shower. The water wasn't hot, quite the opposite, I was boiling so had a shower to cool down.

Felt ok this morning but now i'm at work (sat down, office, near a window, got a breeeze going) I keep feeling lightheaded/faint again.

Should I call my midwife or GP? I've had a quick google and there isn't actually anything they can do for low blood pressure (medication is available I think for long term problems) but this is obviously pregnancy related. Trying to drink even more (I drink loads of water anyway) as apparently that can help.

Anyone else had this?

yokil hope it goes ok, cramps are v normal as everything is stretching and growing. Also brown rather than red means it's old blood so try not to read too much in to it.

Sorry to hear of your worries yokil.

I've had cramps this weekend too and lower back pain on Saturday.I think from overdoing it. As looking said, I think a lot is down to stretching and growing. But definitely worth getting checked if you're worried. Let us know how you get on.

looking, yes try to drink lots of you think its blood pressure. Could it also perhaps be low sugar? Does eating help?I've had a few faint spells and read it was Ti do with the huge amount of blood we are pumping around now. But did find having a sit down and snack helps

Looking my cardiologist recommended eating more salt to raise blood pressure! Not much you can do about it, as far as I know.

Will be thinking of you Yokil

We bought very little new for DD. My mum bought the cot using Tesco vouchers, Moses basket, baby bath, breast pump, play mat, nursing pillow and vibrating chair were lent to us by my sister and rocking chair and changing table were from eBay.

Think the only thing we bought new was the pushchair, and only because we intended to use it with the next ones. Saying that, I'm still undecided on whether to buy a double as DD will be 2.3 and hopefully still wanting a nap! I am doubting that more and more, but I live in hope!

Report
SleepyDragon · 10/08/2015 11:59

Juniper and Looking that would make sense as mine is too high and they said to cut out salt as it raises BP....

I have very constant tingly flutters in the left hand side of my abdomen/lower tummy today. It's quite exciting but i figure baby doesn't like being at work on a Monday either which is why they are making their presence known today LOL

Also feeling quite sick for some reason..... bleurgh!
