maybe mine's also a Samsung - I downloaded something called the Baby Heartbeat Listener. It works for me and my cats but no baby yet (but mine's pretty faint so can't imagine it'll pick anything up for ages yet)...

BeeMyBaby · 17/08/2015 18:43

Fizzypink we took our DDs (3&5) to our 12 week scan, they made DH and the girls wait outside while they checked there was actually a baby there and did the measurements then invited them in to have a nice look with the Sonographer explaining all the bits of the baby so they could understand it. They generally seem to be pretty understanding unless the appointment letter states no children allowed.

Our hospital is discouraging of children attending the 20w scan on the grounds that it's a detailed medical scan. They said if children did attend they would have to sit silently and if they couldn't they'd have to leave Sad

Romeolovesjuliet · 17/08/2015 18:57

fizzy we took our DS to our 12 wk scan and they said definitely no children to 20 wk. I think it depends on the hospital so would just check beforehand.
Pelvic floors - I had some physio after my second and was told to do 3 sets of 10 slow (hold for 10 secs each) and 10 fast a day. I do at least this every single day and often more. They are annoying BUT so much better than the problems associated with not doing them/birth. Also, I think it's as much about getting into the habit as they will be more important than ever after birth.

SleepyDragon · 17/08/2015 19:03

Apologies in advance but... Aaaaaaaaaaaasrghhh!!!!!!!! Angry

DH has just come home and I asked him to collect the ironing from the boot of the car. The ironing lady had put everything hangers and sheathed them all in wrappers so I had laid them out in the boot.

DH walks in, no hello or anything just a 'you could have folded them all into a back so it was easier'

Fuming!

So close to saying of don't wirry after detouring home from work, paying for it which is all yours I might add, and puting tea on I should have realised I needed to make carrying some clothes easier for you!

Irrationally p*ssed off big style now!

I have a HTC phone.

All this talk of 20 week scans makes me want mine even more. 11 days to go!

Sleepy I think men and ironing are just never going to go together!

SleepyDragon · 17/08/2015 19:17

I wouldn't normally mind MrsMaybe but he a usually does all the ironing and it was his idea that as we were out nearly all weekend we'd try the ironing lady down the street, now he's snarky about it not being folded.... Funny if have thought that would have creased it! Wink

FizzyPinkWine · 17/08/2015 19:19

Thanks all. The letter says one well behaved child is permitted, so the hospital seem ok with it. I just wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. We've got no childcare though, so he'll have to come. iPad is a great idea, thanks to who mentioned that!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 17/08/2015 19:38

Sleepy, crunchy peanut butter. I just can't get enough.

And boo to your DH. When will men ever say "thank you" and "let me sort all that out without being asked"? Hmm, maybe when they become women!

MissSMartin · 17/08/2015 19:42

maybe I read ur cheese post while shipping in tesco.. so made a detour to the cheese counter and got some Mexican cheddar. . so excited to eat it! ahhh the little things in life huh!?

yippee! Grin I can finally buy my moses basket.. stand..chicco next to me bedside crib cot mattress and moses bedding as dp has his bonus Grin

aww man my 20w scan isn't until the 8th September Sad ages away.. have my 16w mw app on Friday when I'm 18w so least I get to hear the heartbeat Smile

lovelylara · 17/08/2015 20:07

I had my 20 week scan today, all fine - phew!

Now we can start thinking properly about names :)

Yokyil · 17/08/2015 20:08

20 week scan done and dusted!!! Phew! Not what I was expecting - got quite a subdued sonographer who didn't really talk much, and once she'd measured and looked at all the necessaries - heart, brain, spine etc just said that's us finished! No time for questions, or asking how I was?! Esp after the low pain episode last week. But baby Yokyil is all good - everything where it should be, we're still team yellow, and thankfully my epilepsy meds have had no effect on baba! Have an anterior placenta so explains why I haven't really felt anything. So glad to have that scan done Smile

20+3

mrschatty · 17/08/2015 20:37

Congratulations on the scans ladies. Mine isn't till 1st Sept so far away

godgivemestrengthagain · 17/08/2015 21:10

Hello

Just thought I'd discreetly add myself to the group!

I'm 18 wks today and scan due on 25th August. EDD-11.1.16!!!

These pages are amazing! Keep it up.

Xx

brickiemum2 · 17/08/2015 21:31

Welcome godgiveme but aren't you 19 weeks today??

Sweetpea80 · 17/08/2015 21:31

Mrschatty we are scan buddies this time. My app is 1st Sept too Grin

MissSMartin · 17/08/2015 21:36

hey! welcome godgive Grin Congratulations xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/08/2015 21:52

Until today I didn't have a view on taking children to scans, but now I definitely don't think they should be. The family having their scan before us had two children with them, and they'd obviously had bad news about their baby as DH and I overheard them talking with a member of staff about the baby having an immature heart Sad not very nice for the children who were with them.

Now that I'm past the 20 week scan and I know my baby's spine is fine, can I stop taking my pregnancare?

lilyb84 · 17/08/2015 22:04

Welcome and congrats godgiveme and glad to hear of the positive scans lovelylara and yokyil (and anyone else I've missed!).

Starting to think I must have one of the latest 20 week scans as mine's not until 15th Sep - although I remember someone else on here being on the 16th? Still only 4 weeks away I guess Smile

sleepy counting myself lucky to have a DH who requires no ironing (we don't even have a board - nothing we own gets ironed unless in exceptional circumstances!). Have you forgiven him? Grin

Wynsey · 17/08/2015 22:11

Moving question!!!
Had some Nutella for supper and now I'm getting lots of popping just above my belly button and below my belly button - is it wind?? It's like popcorn in the microwave. Can't decide! Definitely not fluttering!! Lol
17 weeks tomorrow! Grin

On another note - is anyone else getting so annoyed by people asking so many questions??! Lol
How u feeling? Ru finding out? Oh don't - keep it a secret! You're so big - how many weeks r u? Ru sure it's not twins! Have u felt anything yet? Lol am I a horrible person?? It's nice of people to be nice but it's allllll the time! And people who wouldn't normally talk to me!! Grr!

I still feel like it's not real - no symptoms at all apart from a big bump and huge boobs!! Blush
Although I'm starting to feel a bit more active in the (ahem) bedroom! Anyone else finding this?? Xx

MissSMartin · 17/08/2015 22:20

great news on the scans Grin
Congrats!

wynsey Blush yep it's picked up to about 4/5 times a week again now.. since about 14 weeks!

the baby is moving so much I can see it from the outside of my stomach sometimes.. I'm trying to film it to show my mum but she only seems to do it when I'm not ready! it feels like someone's flicking me from the inside.. this morning she did it twice the hardest I've felt and it made me jump

ahhh stuff all ordered now.. I get to collect it on Wednesday so excited Grin

lilyb84 · 17/08/2015 22:20

wynsey most of the questions don't bother me and tbh haven't told enough people that I see regularly to really be being asked many yet! But almost every single person who's found out has asked if we're going to find out the sex, which has me a bit stumped since we don't know yet if we will or not...

Also getting slightly fed up of the alcohol debate. I'm not drinking anything (aside from the odd sip of DH's beer when we're out as I'm missing the real ale) but don't have a strong opinion either way - partly I just haven't felt like it and partly I feel like if I start having a glass here and there it'll be a slippery slope! But if one more person tells me that Guiness is good for me so I should DEFINITELY drink it I might snap. Don't know why it's bugging me so much Grin

BlueEspoir · 17/08/2015 22:51

Evening! Long day at work for me - got to the office at 8.15am and am now finally in a taxi home. The driver has a really strong accent that I am struggling to understand - annoyingly he keeps trying to make conversation with me when all I want to do is read today's MN posts!

Definitely with all those of you who are nesting - I usually hate (and do everything to put off) sorting/chucking out stuff but I am strangely motivated at the moment!

Edgar - I also still haven't felt anything that is definitely the bean - getting impatient now at nearly 19 weeks!

SleepyDragon · 17/08/2015 23:03

Wynsey that sounds about right description wise yes! Funnily enough mind went a little mental just after the peanut butter!

B&W oh no, has to be smooth and on crusty white bread lol!

Lily just about yes lol! We had 15 items of ironing and only 2 were mine so I felt justified in my rant though lol!
