coffeenut · 17/08/2015 09:22

hotcross mine is a clear bump even when I try to hide under loose tops!! miss ... I think I look about 6 months....

sorry about work melon Sad

brooke I've had that too re gp questioning me about an sti - was years ago but dh and I had been married for several years at that stage and I was quite upset! Why didnt he do a swab? I had a swab to confirm thrush in first tri (and to make sure it wasnt anything else!)

Yokyil · 17/08/2015 09:26

melon hope it gets better - you def don't need that!
Aloha how'd you determine if you were S M L.. In the hotmilk bras? You looking at the sleep bras?
20 Wk scan today...so nervous!!

20+3

Brooke113 · 17/08/2015 09:34

coffee he didn't do swabs as it was 5:30 on a Friday and he said the people in the lab had gone home and it wouldn't be done. Was sooo embarrassing though, I did tell him that when I was around 6 weeks they did full swabs because of pain then, I let them do all swabs as I was confident I didn't have an sti then when they thought it might have been.

AlohaMama · 17/08/2015 09:38

yokyil I went for the nursing bras, and did actual bra size. Am currently wearing M&S bras which are too small so I went for next size up and hoped for the best!!

dinosaurdaughter · 17/08/2015 09:41

melon sorry to hear about your bad work situation and your bad night aloha
Good luck with the scan today yokyil

Blackandwhitecat3 · 17/08/2015 09:42

MaybeMrs my bravado bra is just for sleeping/ lounging. For more support, try Royce (John Lewis and Bravissimo), Triumph (Debenhams) and I have a great Panache bra from Bravissimo (who also do a Freya non-under wired) but sadly have just grown out of it so am about to buy another. It's a nursing bra but that just doesn't matter to me, all the best maternity bras (ie the ones with actual support) seem to be nursing ones.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 17/08/2015 09:45

19 weeks today!

JadeMarie123 · 17/08/2015 09:50

Morning everyone.. I think I'm quite small for 18 +4 with second baby.. I can't join in on the bra discussion as I have hardly anything in that department and buy my bra's from primark.. But would like to share my second hand bargains with you.. Got a memo cossatto travel system in great condition with changing bag and rain covers for £15 and also got a fisher price rainforest swing in excellent condition for £5 .. Good luck for those with scans today.. But worried this morning.. Bashed my stomach on a door handle pretty hard.. ReAlly hurt just waiting for baby to move so I know all is well.. Seem to be losing my energy rather than gaining it anyone else feeling like that?xx

Me too b&w.

Definitely getting the odd braxton hicks contraction but midwife said it's nothing to worry about unless they get painful, think that is because I am still under pre term labour consultant though.

Think I have finally felt a flutter? I do have anterior placenta though...

kep really excited for your buffalo bargain. We're doing the same and have seen some for around 500 for the whole system.

loveulotslikejellytots · 17/08/2015 10:22

Hi All, had a busy weekend and haven't had time to catch up!

Sorry to all those who haven't had such a great time lately.

We had our 20 week scan on Saturday. Sonographer was 85% sure we're having a girl! She was in such a strage position! She's got her legs crossed across her body with a foot up by each ear! I've got to go back for a repeat scan this week/next week, because of the way she was holding her legs, they couldn't measure something in the legs or the heart properly, sonographer did say she couldn't see any problems but would like to get the measurements anyway, and they would double check the sex for us! She was pretty sure there were no boy bits hiding, but unless she uncroseed her legs she couldn't be sure! She was so lovely though, so much nicer than the one we had for our 12 week scan. She was chatting away to us and showing us all the different parts.

Had a lovely weekend with DH before he starts his new job next week. Plus it turns out my Mum and MIL have been chatting, they have decided that one of them is buying us the pram and one is buying us the nursery furniture. I could have cried. Now we've had our 20 week scan i'm happier to start ordering bigger things and buying clothes etc.

Also, seen my boss briefly this morning, was talking about when i'd want to finish etc. she would prefer if I didn't work past 38 weeks. Just as our days are quite long, it's long periods of sitting down, plus the nature of the job often involves very upset stroppy people, my job in particular usually involves angry people that haven't been paid as well. So as much as I was gearing up to work right up to my due date (or near enough) it's quite nice to have that decision made for me. Obviously she said it's ultimately my choice, but she has 2 children, she said that I need to make the most of the time I'll have before this one is born. I'm kinda thinking she might be right. So provisional finish date is 18/12/2015 - 80 working days!

TeenieDeenie · 17/08/2015 10:58

Morning all!

I went into the stats to try and update myself as team blue and noticed the stats link in the thread title doesn't seem to take you to the editable version. This link should work for those that want to update -

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12-46WHExOXbKsKon2nKyEth9RRyKw9paIw4V4SGTFE8/edit?usp=sharing

Or if having probs updating your own info just let me know and I can do it today as I have it open at work.

loveulotslikejellytots · 17/08/2015 11:01

Hi teenie, for some reason I've never been able to edit it. Could you put me down for 20week scan on 15th August and team pink (for now) Grin. Thank you!!

AlohaMama · 17/08/2015 11:09

How lovely of the grannys loveyoulots it's such a nice gift. No offers to buy anything here but as we're on #3 I suspect the novelty has worn off!

AlohaMama · 17/08/2015 11:10

Oooh and my mothercare order just arrived - comfy maternity PJs and yoga pants - so excited as I'm pretty sure that when I'm at home that will be my staple wardrobe from here on Smile

lilyb84 · 17/08/2015 11:42

melon that's rubbish Sad Can you get any support from HR or another colleague to clear your name and lift this worry from you?

tiny don't feel bad - the holiday sounds like just what you need and your mum probably needs her own time to deal with your grandad being sick. You should relax and enjoy it - it sounds wonderful.

aloha I hope your DCs are feeling better today, what an awful night for you. Hope you've got your feet up for at least some of the day and don't have to deal with any more sick Brew

brooke and coffee such a horrible thing to be questioned about. I recently found out (thanks, pregnancy hormones) that I've had the HPV virus all this time without being aware of it. DH and I have been together 7 years and I don't have any doubts about his fidelity but it wasn't nice having a question mark over it if only briefly! I didn't have any swabs as part of this pregnancy, is that something they should offer or don't they bother if you're in a long-term relationship?

jade I'm sure baby's fine, all nice and cushioned inside you Smile but hope you get some reassuring flutters soon. Well done on the bargain hunting, very impressive.

loveyoulots how generous of the nans-to-be, must be lovely knowing you don't have to worry about the bigger items. And congrats on the possible/likely team pink!

AlohaMama · 17/08/2015 11:47

not sure about feet up Lily, DD (2yo) tends to bounce back pretty quick so needs entertaining -otherwise she annoys her older brother who is recovering. so far she's stolen his blanket several times and poured water on his back [hmmm]. hoping they'll all nap this afternoon, so I can too!

SleepyDragon · 17/08/2015 11:47

Morning all

Lovely news on all the scans and goo luck to anyone who has one.... our 20week scan is next Thursday, 11 days and counting (inc today!)

Re: the stats sheet, i've discovered it depends on your browser as to wherther you can edit it or not. i can't edit on work computer or phone but can on home computer.... maybe thats the issue some of us are having.

Had a really nice wknd, DH was at football on saturday but i actually enjoyred pottering round, cleaning and rearranging the kitchen and i threw out/charity shopped 3 bags of clothes and shoes!! We planned on a takeaway for tea but my BIL rang me to say he was picking me up as they were doing a BBQ so we all piled round there and sat eating and chatting until about 10.30pm

Sunday we had a lazy morning and took our nephew to the cafe for breakfast and then went out for a big family meal in the evening..... felt i needed to drress up and stop feeling fat so wore a maxi dress and wedges and actually felt pretty good about the shape i've become (despite the B)

Been interviewing at work all morning so am drained from fake cheerfulness for a Monday LOL

melonface · 17/08/2015 11:50

Thanks for all your replies. I'm on my own working in a regional team so haven't got much support. waiting to speak to my line manager.
Just generally feeling down today, my anxiety doesn't seem to be lifting and I just wish baby would move in a way that would reassure me! My wonderful friend is waiting to find out whether she's lost her baby and it's just taken me right back to when I was in the same position, almost a year ago to the day.

loveulotslikejellytots · 17/08/2015 12:10

Aloha i'm sure they're just as excited, but I suppose people assume you've got everything by number 3? This is the first for my parents, and the first for DH's Mum (his Dad has 4 children and 16 granchildren from his first marriage), although her step children have got loads of kids who are all her Grandchildren, this is the first for her little boy Grin.

I've been living in my maternity leggins. I think it'll be hard to ever go back to 'normal' clothes!

DH is working all weekend this weekend, so i'm planning a huge clear out while he's out of the way! We have a wardrobe in our room, one in the spare room and a hanging rail on the landing which are all full of clothes (mainly DH's). There is no way I need all of those and DH certainly doesn't. So i'm going through and charity shopping/binning what I can.

We've then got a massive cupboard on the landing which had just become the dumping ground for crap so i'm also sorting that out and chucking what I can and just tidying everything that has got to stay.

We can't fit much furniture in what will be the babys room, so the spare room wardrobe is going to be for the baby and the cupboard on the landing will hpefully be nappy storage and for other equipment. Who knew the nesting instinct could kick in this early! Anyone else finding they have the urge to just tidy everything away! I'm not normally like this!

lilyb84 · 17/08/2015 12:12

Fingers crossed for nap time, aloha!

Don't envy you interviewing this morning, sleepy - hope it's going well, and glad you had a nice weekend and got a chance to dress up and feel good about yourself.

melon so sorry you're having a tough day in more ways than one. Thinking of you Flowers

Lookingforadvice123 · 17/08/2015 12:20

20 week scan was all good - phew! I can't believe how detailed it is, the sonographer was there for ages looking at the heart, the arteries etc and even put colour on to check blood flow. Luckily she was very nice though and was explaining what she was looking at each time and would say "that looks fine" whenever she'd finished each bit. I was so nervous though, very glad it's done and dusted! And he's definitely a boy Grin celebrated by buying a lovely (but over priced I'm sure) pram suit from mamas and papas.

kep1979 · 17/08/2015 12:28

I am very excited as I managed to find baby's heartbeat with that app Grin It took AGES!! But eventually found it by putting the microphone about 2 inches below belly button to my right and got it - a very clear 139/140 bpm Smile

I have a BIG bump considering I am only 18+3.... will post pic later. I am already having people comment on how big I am, and a fb friend who is 30 weeks is smaller than me! This is number 3 and I was huge with the boys (and they were big babies) so was expecting it.

jmac I can recommend "be my buggy" on FB - she buys bugaboos/Phil&teds/Stoke and then refurbs them to be as good as new - she is based in Bristol so may be worth looking at her page as she will post. We picked ours up from her house and were really pleased - I will definitely use her again for accessories and if we need a donkey at some stage after Bean arrives

melon sorry you are having a shit day - all my work stuff really caused me to be really anxious again and I can still feel my paranoia is higher and confidence lower. Have been cbt-ing myself and have calmed down a bit, it is just hard as our hormones already play havoc with our mojo!

lilyb84 · 17/08/2015 12:28

Glad the scan went well, looking, and nice to hear they went into lots of detail!

tinyme135 · 17/08/2015 12:30

Just looked at the weather for when we go and it's going to reach 30 degrees. Omg it's going to kill me haha. I couldn't cope in may when I was a few weeks pregnant and was in teneriefe haha.

My OH doesn't want to buy nothing as of yet (dunno why) so my nan is secretly putting money aside for me so I can start to order stuff haha xD
