Morning ladies,
Glad everything is OK miss Martin

I had to call midwife on Friday, and she told me to call the doctors, who squeezed me in. Turns out I have some sort of down below infection, which might be causing the pains down below. Hes put me on amoxacillin.
Went to a lovely bbq yesterday but could hardly sleep last night as DS has very kindly shared his summer cold with me. Is there anything at all you can safely take for a sore throat? The throat spray I'd usually use, says no :(

MissSMartin · 16/08/2015 10:16

brooke Thanks .. I would just make a hot honey, lemon and ginger drink.. that always gets rid of my sore throat assuming you like them ingredients haha

I was awaken again last night 3 time's between 1.30- 3 with them pains again it only lasted about 5 mins a time but I went for a wee and I couldn't bloody get off the toilet! baby's still kicking away letting me know she's fine thankgod! maybe it's to do with her position as I know seem to have sciatica aswell!

right I'm off to tidy my whole house! while I feel motivated...

hope everyone has a lovely Sunday Grin

kep1979 · 16/08/2015 10:41

Morning ladies, wow i missed alot! distracted and miss hope you are both feeling better now.

I was at a funeral yesterday in Buckinghamshire, so drove down from Shropshire and then came home via Bristol to pick up my gorgeous new Bugaboo Buffalo Smile It is in immaculate condition so saved a couple of hundred pounds and it really is as good as new. So dh is (relatively) pleased... he's is still amazed on how expensive baby things are!

Also waiting for ebay parcels to arrive from my various nursery decor purchases.... just need loft conversion builders to get in touch so we can get the work started, else little lady has no nursery as dh is determined to keep the office

Now on the lookout for a snuzpod...

Also got to book a new villa for our holiday in two weeks as we were ripped off on the last one (grrrr) - that is today's job as well as unpacking some more boxes!

lilyb84 · 16/08/2015 11:51

distracted that really was a horrible holiday for you. Hope you're better now and congrats on your little boy!

MissM sorry you had a scare and have had more pain in the night - glad your wee girl's okay though and hopefully the pains will go away by themselves!

brooke I sympathise, had a horrible sore throat yesterday which I've made worse by spending an entire afternoon and evening in pubs. Second the recommendation for lemon, ginger and honey and hope you feel better soon!

We saw some friends yesterday who kindly donated us their cot, steriliser, breasts pump, bouncer and a load of bottles, blankets, clothes and play mats. All now sitting in our small one bed flat - I'm going to need a serious logistics planning session as we have zero storage space! So kind of them - they got it all from Freecycle originally so it's nice that they're carrying on the cycle, so to speak Smile Did feel a bit odd bringing it all into the flat though, a bit surreal and a bit 'oh shit, this is really happening...'!

After a late night (bed at 1) and very broken sleep I'm still in bed with a searing headache. Rest day I think!!

mrschatty · 16/08/2015 14:42

Happy Sunday everyone Smile went out for a lovely canal side walk to enjoy the sunshine we had earlier....18w today! Maybe this week ill start feeling movements...maybe I have a lazy baby.

Been asked to go to another department in work to assist with workload- 2 of their staff have gone on mat leave and one has left the business. I have a relatively straightforward role at the min assessing insurance claims and this is a move to complaints. It will end in secondment offer but not sure if it's right for me it's rather a stressful role isn't it? Oh well let's see what tomorrow brings me!

TeenieDeenie · 16/08/2015 16:18

Brooke and Lily Sorry neither of you are feeling great. Really hope it passes soon for you both. There's nothing worse than feeling ill or sore and not being able to take much for it.

Kep great news on the pram, sounds like a total bargain!

MissS Sorry to hear you had more pains through the night but glad baby is letting you know she is ok in there. Smile

So we had our gender scan this morning and I am now officially joining team..... BLUE! Our little boy is doing well, was lying with hands behind head and legs crossed when we first seen him. Obviously knows it's Sunday and a day for relaxing Grin So great to see him a little bit bigger now, more developed and when the sonographer looked up at his bum area there was no question we were having a boy. I actually said it before she did ha ha... We are obviously thrilled! Smile

So that's quite a few boys announced over the past few days have we evened up the team pink/team blue tallies yet? Smile

TeenieDeenie · 16/08/2015 16:19

17+3 (Keep forgetting!)

lilyb84 · 16/08/2015 16:37

Brilliant, congrats teenie, sounds like a lovely scan - and result!

lilyb84 · 16/08/2015 16:47

Now, ladies - DH has just gone to work, we've no food in and I've missed Sainsbury's Sunday opening hours by being in bed all day. I had 'brunch' but that and some fruit is all I've had today. Does any of this justify a take away just for me tonight? Grin

MissSMartin · 16/08/2015 16:58

I do lily !! Grin
I'm having a Indian take out for tea! join me haha..

aww great news Teenie woo another boy! Smile it must be evening up now..we've had quite a few boys recently.. I need to update my stats really!

i was looking before..compared to other ante-natal threads I think we're the most chattiest don't think no one else has had as many threads as ours by 16-20weeks lol Grin

lilyb84 · 16/08/2015 17:02

Lol MissMartin - not sure I can stomach anything spicy right now as still feeling a bit delicate but I reckon some Italian would work (plus they do dessert, the only reason I want to order in really...). Enjoy yours!

tinyme135 · 16/08/2015 17:09

Woo 19 weeks today :) went to a wedding reception last night and was great to dress up as haven't done it for a while.

I've found that spicey food makes the little one move so I'm trying to eat a load of it without it upsetting my ibs haha.

I can't remember who posted about vivid dreams but my God last night I had the worst dream ever and it kept me awake for most of the night. Got me that scared I clinged onto my OH for comfort.

20 week scan on Wednesday and cant wait

moonshine25 · 16/08/2015 17:15

Congrats teenie and welcome to team blue! I'm so pleased you had an amazing scan, it's so lovely to see them bigger isn't it? Your bean sounds so chilled out too Smile

Oh lily and missmartin you're making me jealous with your no fuss takeaways - my turn to cook tonight so going to make a curry with all the trimmings - yum!

Can't believe we've had so many threads - we're such chatterboxes!

JadeMarie123 · 16/08/2015 17:33

dinosaurdaughter · 16/08/2015 17:46

Hi jade that was me with the frazzles, glad I'm not alone. My friends have started getting them in for when I visit Blush.
Lovely to hear all the scan news and sorry to those having worrying times. We are starting to waver about finding out as Dd is insisting on having a brother. Scan on 27th but I think we will stay yellow. I'm being kicked quite a lot now but nothing that dh can feel yet.
18+5

ValancyJane · 16/08/2015 18:27

tiny Mine were dreadful last night too, I dreamed there were burglars downstairs (and woke up to cat knocking something over, not good!), that my aunt had terminal cancer and that my OH was stabbed to death in front of me. Bloody horrible, apparently I was whimpering in my sleep at one point! However did have a dream about my 20 week scan being really good and being team pink, so we'll see if that one comes true!!

I was trying to talk OH into an Indian takeaway but he swayed me with fish and chips, just waiting for him to get back Smile

AlohaMama · 16/08/2015 18:47

I know this has been asked before, but can someone remind me where to get nice maternity/nursing bras. I'm popping out of my current ones and hope that if I get a nursing style bra it will do for post-birth as well. Thanks!

mrschatty · 16/08/2015 19:13

tiny congratulations on team blue!!! We need a tally. I'm sticking team yellow...still have till 1st Sept for my 20w scan can't wait
jade I'm not even feeling movements yet I'm 18w.
Can we share baby brain stories...number 1 going to airing cupboard for towel for shower...coming back with a loo roll Hmm
2- tonight making tea for dh my do and d's. 5 of us. Cooked for 5. 5 plates on table. Couldn't count them and was convinced I'd missed a person out! Mashed tatties 4 brains...

mrschatty · 16/08/2015 19:13

Dp*

mrschatty · 16/08/2015 19:13

aloha Debenhams are v good imo measured me and a good selection v.comfy!

hotcrossbun83 · 16/08/2015 19:20

Elle McPherson bras are meant to be the best, I think they've been bought by another brand now, maybe Heidi Klum? I wouldn't be too hopefully about wearing the same size post birth though, at least for a while. My boobs were massive!

AlohaMama · 16/08/2015 19:23

they feel pretty massive now hotcross and at least some of the flexible styles might stretch a bit hopeful

Oysterbabe · 16/08/2015 19:24

Spent some time today cooing over cute baby things in John Lewis. I really want to buy a fluffy Jellycat Lion Smile Grin
I think we're going to get a Cossato Ooba travel system. We'll order it after our 20 week scan though. Exciting!

Readyforthefuture · 16/08/2015 20:01

Hope everyone's ok, just catching up on things. Glad those of you are feeling a bit rubbish are back on the mend Flowers

Had a busy weekend of buying, we ordered a bugaboo donkey online yesterday including two maxi cosi pebble car seats. Went into town first for training on how to take everything off, fold things down and put everything back. Lots to learn! DH has also gone shopping mad and bought tons of clothes (I've hardly bought anything). Still lots more to go.

I felt my first movements this week, but only from one of the babies (the one we call sleepy in ultrasounds). Whoever was worried about not feeling anything, I have a theory that where they are, and the direction they are facing. I know my other one is way more active, but can't feel her higher up.

One more week of relative calm at work before the investigation into my grievance, oh the joy!

kep1979 · 16/08/2015 20:20

aloha I get mine from HotMilk - I've been sticking to the sleep bras as really comfy and span a couple of sizes.

Have also been playing with app on my phone (tiny beats) which apparently picks up baby heartbeat. It does say only after 30 weeks but couldn't help but try it. No joy but think I got placenta. Quite tempted to get a Doppler - for those who have them which one have you got? Wouldn't use for diagnostics just fancy a listen in every so often.
