I got a doppler two weeks ago when I knew I could hear the heart beat and to cheer up the OH. I've never seen him cry so much.

I have ovarian cysts and I'm not consultant based. I got to see a consultant for my ibs and migraines. Luckily I haven't had no migraines as of yet but my ibs seems to be getting worse "/

spydie · 14/08/2015 12:33

valency another early riser here - just this week, been waking up about 5 and generally not getting back to sleep. Would rather sleep!!!

Got my 20 week scan appointment through at last, but it's not until the 7th September Sad don't want to wait that long!

We exchanged on the houses yesterday though, so we are moving a week today, can't wait!!! Desperately packing the house, my husband is useless and thinks we can shove everything in black bags Hmm. Last night I was bubble wrapping ornaments etc and listing things on boxes, and he was laughing at me and saying that he wouldn't be doing that! I said, I know you bloody wouldn't, and then everything would get broken and we'd have no clue where anything was, so I'll just carry on packing up our entire house by myself while you sit around all day doing nothing (he's a teacher, so off on holidays and COULD be making himself useful, whereas I am working!!). Grrrr men!!!!!!

16 + 6

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 13:00

I really need to clean our bedroom and get rid of some clothes but I just 'treated' myself to s fat McDonalds (because clearly, baby wanted one) and now I can't move!

I do love having a day off work but I feel guilty if I don't do anything in the flat lol!

DH just text to say the Brownies went down really well and there's none left!

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 13:25

By the way....

Despite the rubbing of tummies, wriggling of bellies, scans, tests, appointments and God knows what else....

Does anyone else still have a hard time believing that they are actually pregnant and come January you'll have a little bundle in your arms, dependant on you, that you made? I keep having moments of 'it's not real'. Not in a nasty way but in a 'blimey!' Kind of way.

loveulotslikejellytots · 14/08/2015 13:44

Yes sleepy! DH got his shifts through for December and it looks like he'll have to work either Christmas Eve night or Christmas Day night, possibly Boxing Day. I said that it sucked a bit, but he rightly pointed out that if he did a lot this Christmas they would be more favourable for next Christmas. It took me a minute to work out it would be baby's first Christmas!!!

I still have trouble believing it!

tinyme135 · 14/08/2015 13:45

I'm still shocked by it. Even seeing my bump and scan pics and keep being told you're going to be a mum I still don't believe it.

Oh and I'm having a pregnancy spa day tomorrow. I think I need some tlc with how I've been feeling and my OH grieving and all that. Stress isn't good on your bags haha. Plus my chest and belly seems to be attacking my back.

fishermanswife1 · 14/08/2015 13:50

Struggled to login to mn this morning.
Congrats on your girlie night. Sounds like the consultant is confident and great it won't affect the birth.

I'm another one planning to work til 23rd Dec, and take annual leave after Xmas til 9th Jan due date.

I keep waking up between 4 or 5, then can't sleep until 7, then just want to sleep 7-9. So daft!

Totally eating a choc brownie right now!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 14/08/2015 13:56

Totally sleepy, but my bump had just grown again suddenly and so since last night I've been able to feel like it's a bit more real.

Valancy I just re-read your post about specsavers. First time around I thought you had lost it with that annoying man!

Does anyone else find that their brain just doesn't work properly? Mine seems to be mostly mush most of the time Confused

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 14:05

B&W I had to read it twice as well as I thought the same lol!

loveUlots I totally get that! DH pointed out he'd be the first one of us to 'get something' from baby as his bday is May... Part of me felt really giddy at buying him a Daddy card part of me felt jealous!! Lol!

I'm sitting on the sofa surrounded by the sleep suit, a snow suit, the swing chair, my scan pic, the milk machine with a pretty huge bump that's fluttering away still feeling as though none of its real lol!

hotcrossbun83 · 14/08/2015 14:12

First time round I didn't really believe it was real until I was holding a baby! This time it's easier as I know what to expect, although I'm dreading the first few weeks a bit, I have no idea how I'll manage a newborn and ds

loveulotslikejellytots · 14/08/2015 15:08

I have just had a good laugh. DH knows nothing about babies (I've learnt the little I know from mums net and friends over the years). He has to put blocks of leave in all at once for his work. He can then take odd days and swap shifts of needed but he has to put four blocks in around September time for the following year.

DH called me on his lunch break, he's going to put a block of leave in around my Birthday (beginning of feb) he thought we might take the baby to Wales to visit his Aunt Shock.

He was genuinely surprised to hear that it might not be a good idea. And that if the baby is late it will be about 4 weeks old, depending on the birth/c section there is no way I'd be able to sit in a car for 4 hours - there and back. And I might not want to be away from home yet. Bless him, he did realise after how silly it sounded! To be honest if I felt ok I'd probably go but it's not knowing how you'd feel/cope with a newborn that worries me!

I've said book it in for the middle of March, baby will be at least 8 weeks, we'll give that a go!

ValancyJane · 14/08/2015 15:26

Haha black and sleepy I'm not quite that bad yet! (Might have just cried at a photograph of an orphaned wallaby hugging a teddybear, my hormones are definitely going crazy this week!)

Sleepy Yep, I still have those moments of disbelief. When I heard the heartbeat the other day it was lovely, but a part of me did think 'bloody hell, there's a baby in there!' I also have the odd moment of 'what have I done?', not because I don't want this, but because it all does just seem so surreal.

love Bless him!! At least he mentioned it to you first!

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 15:50

Ah loveUlots that did make me chuckle! Our first 'holiday' will be in June with DM, MIL, FIL,SIL,BIL and nephew. We've hired a big cottage so everyone can muck in and help lol!

Just had the fright of my life, was tidying round kitchen and get my foot on one of those gel ball things you put in the washer, God knows how it was on the floor but I nearly went straight ar$e over t!t... Never been so scared of falling!!!

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 15:51

Valancy yes to the 'what have I/we done' feeling!

MiniTickle · 14/08/2015 16:03

I'm Team Blue!
Eating a homemade salted caramel brownie whilst looking at my 20 week scan picture. The sonography said that he was really active and the feeling that I thought were wind was probably baby. Definitely going to be a rugby player no inhibitions already.

SleepyDragon · 14/08/2015 16:08

Congrats Mini lovely Blue news and piccie!

I feel very responsible for all these 'Brownie* moments....

tinyme135 · 14/08/2015 16:15

Congratulations on team blue. Such a lovely picture :)

lilyb84 · 14/08/2015 16:42

Yay mini, congrats!

It doesn't feel even slightly real to me yet. I'm loving looking and feeling a bit more pregnant, but I don't think my mind has made the connection yet between 'pregnant' and 'there's a real life baby in there'.

Was crouching low to the ground earlier to try to fix my car's bumper and when I went to stand up had a super sharp pain right under my bump, almost like tearing a muscle Shock A little like I've had in bed when turning over or coughing, so assume it's something growth/ligament-related... Anyone else getting that? I'm having a few general pains in my abdomen anyway but given that my bump seems to have appeared in the last 3 days I'm not surprised!

Definitely no early mornings for me, at least any more than usual as I often wake in the early hours then go back to sleep and generally sleep through my alarm Grin

jmac88 · 14/08/2015 17:05

Amazing pic mini and welcome to team blue!

Is he suckling his thumb???????!!!!!!

mrschatty · 14/08/2015 17:26

mini congratulations! Team pink/blue seems to be evening out! About to tuck into a whooooole pizza and got some non alcohol wine...just like old times!

FizzyPinkWine · 14/08/2015 17:34

Great pic mini!
I've got my 20 week scan next Friday too - excited and nervous in equal measure!
I seem to be waking up super early too. DS has always been an early riser, but even he is sleeping til 6 now. I'm still waking at half 5, at the latest!!!

MissSMartin · 14/08/2015 17:47

aww congrats mini I can't see the pic till later though cz I'm on the app Grin x
sleepy try thinking of this then...this time next year we will have 7.5month old haha! ! I'm so excited to be a mum lol

mrschatty · 14/08/2015 18:02

Ladies your really hammering it home to me....A 7 month old. Crazy!

AlohaMama · 14/08/2015 18:05

That's a great pic mini really clear.

I wasn't that fussed about the brownie discussion but now that salted caramel brownies have been mentioned I'm drooling. DH just made me a cherry and almond cake though, so that will do instead.

Had consultant ap this morning. It was very quick but she said that unless cyst twists, it won't interfere with pregnancy, and if it is still there 6 wks after I'll have an op to have it removed. Relieved as that means I am ok to go with the midwife led birthing centre, as long as there are no problems.

MissSMartin · 14/08/2015 18:39

aloha that's great news! Smile
mini oh I see the picture finally! Aww cuteee Lovely and clear Grin x
