brooke Grrrr! I was discussing this the other day .. my friend was literally abused at work as she was heavily pregnant and was always in the smoking shelter, it's disgusting. I understand it's an addiction but some people don't even try and cut down!

Brooke113 · 12/08/2015 18:06

I'm not a very confrontational person, and understand it's every woman's choice. It just hurts me a little bit, I think it's because the unborn child doesn't get a choice. My asthma is so bad that just passive smoking can bring on an attack for me :(

SleepyDragon · 12/08/2015 18:08

Another random rant here....

Really annoys me when you see young girls (read 5/6) wearing crop tops, make up and stilleto style sandals out as every day wear. Playing dress up is one thing but making them older than they are is another entirely....

Apologies if that offends anyone!

Tiny let me know if they come back with anything you're not sure if, I'll help where I can based on my DPA work.

Ladies, tip of the day - Foxs chunky chocolate chip cookies.... Nom nom nom

I also think my little Bumble is awake and playing, I've had fizzy/tickly like feelings in low left abdomen for last 10min Grin

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 12/08/2015 18:20

Brooke and sleepy I agree with both your rants!

Re: finding out I'm leaning more towards finding out now. I thought I was a firm yellow! DH seems to be making me change my mind! I still want the special moment when he/she is born of 'it's a boy/girl!'. I really don't know what to do Confused

Hope everyone has had a good day of scans and appointments. I loved hearing the heartbeat on monday. Was lovely and strong. DH couldn't be there so I recorded it for him, Can't stop listening to it now Smile

Oysterbabe · 12/08/2015 18:25

Stay strong Maybe Smile
It's difficult when so many people are finding out but I really want that big surprise too, it'll be worth the wait!

Smoking when pregnant is absolutely disgusting, there's no excuse.

tinyme135 · 12/08/2015 18:37

Thanks sleepy :) I think it's gonna be a few weeks but I'm happy to wait a few weeks if it means they sort it out.

And about the smoking rant. My OH and his friends smoke but not once have they lit up around me and when we're out if one of them wants one they go as far away as they can for me. None of them have to do that but I think it's nice of them. Also working in a pharmacy you deal with a loy of pregnant women abs some of them are not only smoking but they're also smoking weed and other stuff. I hate having to bite my tongue as it's their choice but still.

moonshine25 · 12/08/2015 18:53

I'm a team blue too!! Got so many baby boys in our family recently that I'm quite relieved - feel like I'll know what to do more - if that makes sense?!

Coffee I'm so sorry about your friend but I guess it's good they caught it and can treat it?

I woke up randomly in the middle of the night and felt so so sick so had to rush to the toilet but then after a wee I felt better - random or what?!

MissSMartin · 12/08/2015 18:56

awww that's great!! moon Grin Congrats

melonface · 12/08/2015 18:59

congrats moonshine ! lovely to have some more boys in this thread.

SleepyDragon · 12/08/2015 19:16

Congrats Moonshine!!

Sorry but another rant, I feel red mist tonight...

DH comes home from work, whilst chatting I mention I've ordered a lovely winter maternity parka coat.
'Why did you buy that?'
Me: what do you mean
'Well you give birth in January why do you need a winter coat
Me: what about November, December and after I've given birth
'Wear your normal coat'
Me: hardly likely to be possible consider they're tailored to me pre pregnancy figure
'Well I think it's a waste of money and no point'

Seriously!!!!! That man!!!!! Angry

hotcrossbun83 · 12/08/2015 19:53

maybe not to try and sway you, but finding out at ds's birth was not quite the big reveal I thought it would be - I was so exhausted and worried that all was ok and 'holy shit it's a baby' that I barely gave it a thought. That's why in finding out this time. However I did love how everyone was so excited for the birth to find out, and the endless speculating (love baby chat)

lilyb84 · 12/08/2015 20:03

Congrats moonshine!

Sweetpea80 · 12/08/2015 20:16

Congratulations moonshine. Another lovely baby boy. GrinGrin

I agree with the rants. People abusing their bodies while pregnant makes me mad. I worked in a hotel years ago. We had a wedding once where the bride was heavily pregnant and spent all day smoking and drinking. How people can be so selfish astonishes me. ????????

mrschatty · 12/08/2015 20:29

Aw smoking. It's never bothered me people smoking near me then on sat at a bbq people started moving away from me to smoke then as the night wore on..(they got more drunk...people were just lighting up right next to me! Inc girlfriends who have just had babies dh kept moving me away bless him I felt rude!!!!

MissSMartin · 12/08/2015 20:53

dp just felt the baby kick 4 times in a row he was like.. woah!!Grin it was a really nice moment... im starting to feel movement in lots of periods throughout the day.. must feel her move about 100 times a day no exaggeration lol .. especially after I've ate my tea Smile
sleepy Aww I think it's a good buy ignore him haha. . men don't understand Grin

lovelylara · 12/08/2015 21:03

Lookingforadvice and Yok - I'm another scan twin as my appointment is AM on Monday 17th August.

Feeling pretty nervous! We already know it's a girl from the Harmony scan so fingers crossed she's alright in here Smile

Blackandwhitecat3 · 12/08/2015 21:06

Congrats on team blue joiners! We're in team yellow as DH wants it to be a surprise, but he's started making noises about not being able to go to the 20 week scan because of work, if I go on my own, I'm tempted to find out and not tell anyone!

Hmm....I'm so tired I think I might have posted that already this week. Oops!

Got home a short while ago after 11 hrs at work (eek! That was a shock to the system after 4 weeks off) to find a note from DH saying "can you tidy up a bit before cleaner comes tomorrow?" When he was working from home for most of the day before leaving the country, and house is a tip with his mess. Red mist! Angry.

Saw some more colleagues today - "apparently" everyone thought I as pg at the end of term. Ha ha. There's always a rumour.

Tiny glad to hear your bump has made it past your chest. Mine has a way to go yet before becoming visible beyond these two mountains!

MissSMartin · 12/08/2015 21:17

Obem is on ladies Grin

Yokyil · 12/08/2015 21:19

looking and lara mines at 11am...cannot wait for Monday! Have had no scan since 9+6 so it's been a long 10weeks!! Have heard the hb twice inbetween. Dh def doesn't want to know-he wants the surprise, so unless something changes between now & Monday I'd say we're still firmly team yellow Smile

lilyb84 · 12/08/2015 21:39

Oh no, missed the start of OBEM! Will have to watch it on channel 4 + 1 Smile

Saw Saint Agur crème cheese (the spreadable version) on offer in Sainsbury's and noticed it's made with pasteurised milk, so bought it... and to be totally safe I've cooked it into a tasty sauce with gnocchi. First blue cheese in over 12 weeks - heaven!!

Oysterbabe · 12/08/2015 22:01

I'm totally going to be like that hypnobirthing couple Grin

MissSMartin · 12/08/2015 22:02

wow! I want a birth like that last lady! I've convinced dp to get in the birthing pool with me. . she had such a serene birth! I'm definitely looking into hypnobirthing Smile

loveulotslikejellytots · 12/08/2015 22:03

Without wanting to sound really soppy, that last birth on one horn was beautiful! I'd love to have a birth like that, but no way can I afford the £400 hypnobirthing course local to me. Plus I'm consultant led. Do you think there is a compromise or middle ground between the two?

loveulotslikejellytots · 12/08/2015 22:04

One born obviously not one horn!

moonshine25 · 12/08/2015 22:25

I still haven't watched one born - am I missing out? I don't know but I have a thing about not watching it - is it quite a realistic portrayal? Maybe I should watch as research?!

Oh missmartin I'm so jealous of all your movements you can feel - I've only felt little flutterings and can't wait for full on kicks!!

Oh and I completely agree on the red mist and smoking thing... We went out last weekend to the pub and we were sat by the door and lots of people were smoking just outside which meant lots of smoke inside. I actually had to go to the toilet and throw up which was weird - I think our bodies are just much less tolerant as we know it's bad for our babies?
