Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

TwllBach · 23/08/2015 08:32

I have to admit I called NHS direct last night because I was panicking BlushBlush

I am waking up between 6.44 and 6.47 every day atm, unless my alarm is set for earlier like today...

My tummy is hard if I press it, is anyone elses? I googled it... it's ok, and I am 5 weeks 2 days today, so in 5 days time my baby's heart will be the size of a poppy seed. It's like magic Grin

MazzleDazzle · 23/08/2015 08:39

Rinnyx, Dexlie, this will be our 3rd too. I always wanted a big family. DDs will be nearly 8 and 5. How are your two?

Congrats to just and feefee! Your BFP must have been such a welcome surprise!

I've bought some loose fitting tops and trousers in a bigger size to see me through the next wee while. My usual skinny jeans have no hope of fastening! I'm also going to pack away anything I won't be wearing in the next year. One everyone knows I can show off my figure, rather than hiding it!

Going to try and limit weight gain in this pg. Came across an article on the BBC claiming that weight management during pregnancy results in less complications. I over-ate during both last pregnancies and all the wrong things too! Determined this time will be different.

Is anyone else itchy? Mine is only mild but still irritating. Slightly worried too as last pregnancy I had PEP (red angry bumps that make you want to tear your skin off!) The only thing that helped was cold baths every few hours. Even though the night! In the last few weeks and I was in tears with it. I really hope it doesn't develop again!

CottonSock · 23/08/2015 08:47

I've had some cramping, probably the stretching going on down there.

I've been waking up well before 6 too. Annoying indeed when I was so shattered yesterday, and starving. Had a massive BBQ (during thunderstorm) then ended up going to American style dessert place and being a pig.

Twll bach I'm about to be a welsh learning so nice to see welsh in your name

Hope everyone else ok

TwllBach · 23/08/2015 09:06

We can practise together CottonSock Grin I'm not Welsh but have lived here for the past decade and teach here so need it to get by! DC will be brought up as Welsh as possible, despite DP's protestations...

I am feeling really nauseous today but eating makes it worse Sad

Feefee45 · 23/08/2015 09:10

Thanks Mazzledazzle

The itchy thing sounds awful I hope you don't suffer from it this time round.

The worst thing for me so far is that if I get disturbed from my sleep ( like at 1.30am this morning by my nephew who was staying over or when dh comes to bed) then I can't get back to sleep for 2-3 hours. Hope it doesn't continue as I have early starts back at work next week.

CarrotVan · 23/08/2015 09:31

I'm feeling really sick today. MrVan starts a new job tomorrow that involves working away for the next couple of weeks leaving me with a very active toddler to look after. Plus I have my early scan tomorrow so am anxious about that, needing to commute by car for the first time (I hate driving) and my rather stressful job

Ugh

Dontfearthesleeper · 23/08/2015 09:48

Morning everyone, another night of waking needing a pee then lying unable to sleep! Is anyone else having crazy dreams, my hubby thinks I'm mad with mine :) This is going to be a few long weeks! Trying not to tell anyone until after scan but not sure how quickly I'll show with no.4? Mazzle Dazzle I'm going to try to eat really healthily this time too, last time I had terrible cravings for choc oranges and ate -hundreds- a few

pingoose · 23/08/2015 09:51

Congrats just and feefee!!
Do we have stats for this group? I'm happy to collate them if we don't and people are interested?

My boobs have started growing already. Of course, I just bought two fancy new bras the week before BFP that I'll probably never fit again :(

TwllBach · 23/08/2015 10:13

My boobs have been shrinking! I've been working really hard on weightloss and trying to be healthy... it is just beginning to occur to me that I am going to get big Grin

I am going to go to my gym tomorrow and ask one of the women there to go through what is safe for me and what isn't. I have just started using the weight machine and was enjoying that and don't want to let myself go tooooo much over the next few months.

Stats pingoose? I like stats but wouldn't know where to start...

I am feeling rather poorly today but I think it is probably the lack of sleep last night coupled with a touch of morning sickness.

Good luck with your early scan 8CarrotVan* Smile

woundbobbin · 23/08/2015 10:29

There is an existing spreadsheet for stats etc sorry I can't link (on phone and a bit stupid)
I'm in Wales does that make three of us?
Carrot that sounds like hard work do whatever it takes to get through.
DM took dd last night so we could get some rest (we've all been ill this week) we caught up on GOT and watched the Athletics it was amazing only downside was I couldn't eat DH's pizza! 8weeks tomorrow 4 weeks to go till the scan!!!

CottonSock · 23/08/2015 10:39

twllbach bobbin I've been in Wales 10 years too, dh also English, but we are keen on welsh culture and language. DD will probably go to welsh school, so I need to learn fast :) she's 23 months and in welsh Nursery so knows more than me.

I'm a natural insomniac, last pregnancy was a killer at the end. I might finish work early to cope.

carrot can you practice the journey maybe?

TwllBach · 23/08/2015 10:41

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19_oJAqbUcG6rkYeIhNviPagpQ4BSbWYHZtzYI0Yi4L4/edit#gid=0

I found the link Grin I typed my stats in but don't know if it saved.

ashboo76 · 23/08/2015 10:52

Talking of stats is it possible that someone can add my booking in on the 11th sep (9 weeks exactly) and my scan 2nd oct (12 weeks exactly) please I can't seem to do it on my phone Confused

MsGlitterJunkie · 23/08/2015 17:12

Good luck with the scan tomorrow carrot you'll feel so much better when that's done. Do you have any friends or family that can help you out a bit while MrVan is away? Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it and be kind to yourself over the next little while.

I am so bloated it's unreal, terrible water retention and constipation! Bras and clothes are now tight and I'm starting to get paranoid about how big I'm going to get, I'm only 7+3.....gah!

Rinnyx · 23/08/2015 17:25

Glad I'm not the only one having a 3rd even tho unplanned
Told DP he needs the snip and I, my tubes tied as I fell before on the pill but MC a week after I found out (this was back in 2009)

My DD is 13 next month and DS will be 5 in a few months
I've got to try sort a GP and midwife tomorrow and push for early scan as I have no idea how far along I really am and DP thinks I should tell work right away rather than hiding it...what a way to start a new job Hmm

Expectantrobot · 23/08/2015 17:27

Have been a bit quiet recently as not been feeling great. Had a week off work with what I think was super low iron levels, and then this last week made it into work everyday but a real struggle with the extreme exhaustion and also nausea and lots and lots of retching. Now actually being sick a bit, which strangely helps more than before when I wasn't actually vomiting.

Am getting a bit stressed about telling DH's family. They can be a bit difficult at times - not good at acknowledging we have our own lives / are adults capable of making our own decisions (we are 29 and 32 with decent jobs, nice house etc so it's not like they have any reason to think that...) and just generally a bit pushy at times because they have a "way" things should be and can't compute any deviations from that (e.g. didn't like us living together before we were married, will struggle with the concept of me going back to work after the baby is born). I'm sure they will be excited and fine, but I am just getting myself all prepared for lots of negativity and difficulty and fussing - three things I really don't need right now - which is making me a bit miserable.

Think hormones are a bit all over the place to be honest - had a good old cry watching Calendar Girls on telly last night!

Hope everyone else is having restful weekends.

Oh - and I have my booking in appointment for 1st September and then have booked a private scan for 3rd September, when I'll be 10 weeks. We go on holiday that day so would like to go away feeling a bit less anxious about everything!

Dexlie0806 · 23/08/2015 17:40

Mazzle by ds's are 7 and 3 (7 and 4 when baby will be born)

Don't fear the dreams are mad. A few nights ago I went into labour in the middle of our shopping centre. No dh with me I was on my own. Joe hart delivered my baby which looked about 9 month old. A little girl with lots of curly hair!!! Very very strange Shock

Sophia1984 · 23/08/2015 20:08

Over at my parents tonight but without OH. So so hard not to tell them! Have had to turn down both caffeinated tea ('I've stopped drinking it in the afternoon') and wine with dinner :-) Still not feeling real at all..

ashboo76 · 23/08/2015 20:27

Feel your pain Sophia had lunch out with my dad bro and sil today ... Didn't have wine ... DH thinks he heard my sil whisper about it. I don't want to say til 8 weeks at least (2 more to go) so just feel like a fraud. I'm dreading telling my bro and sil as they can't have children themselves .... Never thought something so happy could be so upsetting Sad

PallasCat · 23/08/2015 21:07

Good luck carrot tomorrow!

Dexlie your dream made me laugh! Hope it wasn't stressful for you though!

I'm weighing up who to tell and when as well...

I have an event (sorry to be obscure - don't want to out myself) tomorrow where for health and safety reasons I have to disclose. So far only me and DH know, so 3rd person to find out will be a complete stranger. Hmm It's also going to be really hard to disclose without anyone overhearing. Really don't know how to play it. We'll see...

I just feel like I'd like an extra week or so before telling nearest and dearest. But again for health and safety reasons I'll have to tell my employer early next week too I think. Slightly feel like my hand is being forced on this, but in both instances I'm having to tell for safety reasons so there's really nothing else I can do.

pingoose · 23/08/2015 21:42

Thanks for linking to the stats TwllBach, you've got better eyes than me!

I have to go to a conference abroad next week, and I'm dreading my coworker realising that I'm not drinking at night. Might have to use the old antibiotic line.
So far only me and DH know. I'll be telling my two best friends this weekend, as they knew we'd been trying and keep asking for updates. Other than that, I'm going to leave it until after the scan. Both sets of parents live in other towns/countries, so we can hide it!

Dontfearthesleeper · 24/08/2015 04:08

Good luck carrot!

Ashboo I have a similar situation with my sis and it's been hard telling them every time but she's always been fab, I've always messaged her first so she has time on her own to react before calling.

I was out with some girlfriends yesterday and they were all ribbing me for driving but I don't think they sussed as they think we are all done with kids-can't wait to tell them!

Dontfearthesleeper · 24/08/2015 04:12

Pallas could you hand whoever needs to know a note tomorrow so no one need hear?

I had the worst pains yesterday when out and was worrying but it turned out to be wind/bungled up - Oh the joys!

Dontfearthesleeper · 24/08/2015 04:13

Bunged up not bungled ! Haha

ashboo76 · 24/08/2015 08:50

Don'tfear thank you yes was going to call my brother (as he is the less sensitive) to tell him then let him tell her. Her sister has a DD and it broke her heart when born but she dotes on her now they always have her.

As for the wind totally the same! Confused
