Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

Just been offered a scan in morning at 9.10. Nightmare time, hubby having to make excuse to get off his on call work to have kids and I'll be going on my own but hopefully it'll be ok!

Ooh good luck Kitty!

I've been given some drugs for the morning sickness... they say in the leaflet "not recommend for use in early pregnancy". What the hell?!

Indomitable · 29/07/2015 16:01

Beautiful that will be to absolve the manufacturer from any problem and put it into the prescribing doctor. It's probably still fine. What's it called? I'm sure there will be plenty of people on mn that have taken it if it's ok.

Indomitable · 29/07/2015 16:34

Omg I really want a nasty cup-a-soup. Hope this isn't like when I wanted a pizza, then immediately didn't. DH thinks this is hilarious.

Trinpy · 29/07/2015 16:38

Beautiful its because they can't do actual tests on pregnant women to see whether the drug caused any damage to the baby. So they have to say not to use it to cover themselves. However there are lots of medicines which are commonly used by pregnant women with no known problems. I hope that makes sense? What is it you've been prescribed?

MyNameIsSuz · 29/07/2015 16:41

indomitable, do it! I still haven't found what exactly my body wants, utter food failure today.

BeautifulLiar · 29/07/2015 16:45

Thanks girls, it's metoclopramide...

Indomitable · 29/07/2015 17:13

That's the one that was compared to ginger in the nausea trials. In those studies it had been used in pregnant women (though I didn't read enough to see where they were in pregnancy).

Poppins27 · 29/07/2015 17:14

Beautiful...what a ridiculous thing to put on there though, obviously to cover the manufacturers back but hey do we not have enough to worry about as it is in early pregnancy!! Hope they work though, sickness is horrific!!

I had my scan this morning and pleased to report there is a definite blob shaped thing with a heartbeat in situ!! They have dated me at 6+6 (give or take 5 days) so earlier than the lmp date but I actually expected that tbh. So relieved!

Exhaustion had massively overtaken, my poor Dd is being so good entertaining herself. The house is minging and foods are completely random right now but giving myself a break and repeating the mantra 'it's not forever!!'.

Cannot believe only 1 week ago I was still at the gym 3-4 times a week, can barely be bothered to walk upstairs to bed this week!!! ????

Me624 · 29/07/2015 17:23

Pleased to hear your good news Poppins Smile

Kittykitty05 · 29/07/2015 17:28

Beautiful, probably like my son's 12 year birthday badge that said not for under 3's, or my bag of peanuts which 'may contain nuts' - bloody hope they do!!!!
Indomitable I'm the same, I fancy things till I've got them then I don't want them. My dh still finds it amusing, at the mo!!!

Pleased all is well Poppins

dobbythedoggy · 29/07/2015 18:25

All went well for me with early scan yesterday. Baby looking good. A small almost healed bleed seemed to be the cause of spotting. Thankfully it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.

Booking in with midwife tomorrow.

beautiful the stuff I'm taking for sickness says the same. But gp was really reasurring about it being safe to take. Hope what you've been given helps ease the sickness soon.

LaraNotCroft22 · 29/07/2015 19:12

Glad you have goodness popping and dobby. So nice to see a little blob isn't it!?

I'm having a good day sickness wise, yey! I've even put a chicken casserole in the oven and that's the first time I've managed to cook in two weeks!

Whether I'll be up to eating it is another challenge haha x

LaraNotCroft22 · 29/07/2015 19:13

I mean glad you have good news!! Can't bloody type.

Cherrytoes · 29/07/2015 19:22

Indomitable, erm im ashamed to say that it was me who took the rather dubious course of action of starving myself to check I still felt nauseous when hungry!
My nausea is very intermittent so it's worrying me, past few days ive had nothing. But my rational head says that ive read many stories of ladies with changing symptoms with perfectly healthy babies so I'm pretty sure this doesn't mean anything conclusive.
I also read 'morning sickness' refers to intermittent waves of mild nausea right through to constant throwing up so can be anywhere in between!

Sorry I forget who mentioned heart and lungs working overtime, but I think your body has a lot more blood flowing around it when pregnant so it's common for heart flutters etc, im certainly getting loads of those I feel breathless a lot! Hope that's what it is anyway!

Oh and I'm another 26yr old without facebook :)

julesldn · 29/07/2015 19:42

Poppins and dobby - great news about the scans! Smile

I got my blood tests back and after 2 days of worrying about the results after the text they sent me, all was fine! She said they mucked up my blood group test (which is common) and that I hadn't had my MMR jab so will have to get that after baby but otherwise all good - so relieved!

Also got a prescription for anti sickness meds too. Finally. So fed up of feeling sick!! Took one this eve but then threw up haha but not because of the tablet. Can't wait to not feel sick anymore! Mine also say the thing about not taking when pregnant - hilarious!!

shieldbug · 29/07/2015 20:45

Poppins, Dobby and Jules so glad you all had good news. Kitty Thinking of you. Good luck for tomorrow.

I'm also feeling freezing at the moment; was actually glad when ds1 popped into our bed last night as he was a nice hot water bottle. I'm sitting here in my normal clothes with a dressing gown on top.

Still feeling rubbish but had a few good hours when I was able to take the children to a cafe with a play area, so they at least got something interesting to do today. Ds1 is also going to a holiday bible club at our church in the mornings and my mil, bless her, is taking him and picking him up. I don't drive so this exhaustion and nausea is really hitting me hard. Glad some of you are managing to get anti-sickness meds. I agree how silly it is to say "not suitable for early pg"; like kitty, I had a strange b'day card for a ds, in this case a card for a 2 year old that was not suitable for under-3s due to small parts.

Londonlady2015 · 29/07/2015 21:17

Hello there can I join? Thanks to shieldbug for pointing out this thread when I was stressing over random symptoms on the other forum!

Londonlady2014, age 31, Edd 31st March so only just on here to be fair!

Had GP appt Monday to confirm all and awaiting paperwork for midwife appt etc.

lilmisshopeful · 29/07/2015 21:42

Welcome londonlady!

Sorry only just catching up on thread and am soooo tired so not sure exactly what's been happening. Congrats to everyone who's had good scan news. kitty sending you best vibes for tomorrow :-)

Boo to sickness and tiredness. I am aching for 12 weeks when (all going well) I can tell the world and get some sympathy on my commute. Sooo want to dig out my baby on board badge so that I'm not on the verge of fainting from standing up on the tube whilst feeling grrrrim. But I can't run the risk that someone from work will see me! Actually I've already told my boss and jobshare as they needed to know why I've been in bits but don't want it known more widely until 12 weeks. I forgot how tough the first trimester is!

JanineMelnitzGlasses · 30/07/2015 06:59

Is anyone else experiencing insomnia? I keep waking at half 3 for no reason.

BeautifulLiar · 30/07/2015 07:37

Insomnia here too janine. It's so annoying! I usually have it in third trimester too. At least it prepares you for the baby I guess?!

I HATE FIRST TRIMESTER!! Honestly I'm so grateful I'm pregnant but it's the one with the worst symptoms, plus you can't tell anyone.

It's crazy how you can change overnight too i.e. "I'm worried I've got no symptoms" and then the next day feeling like death! Hopefully it'll work the other way too so one day we'll wake up and feel good again.

This is the worst cold I've ever had too... stupid suppressed immune system!!

JanineMelnitzGlasses · 30/07/2015 07:48

I had a day of no symptoms yesterday and then I woke at 3am & have really sore boobs! I don't get morning sickness though so I find it reassuring when I feel a bit off. Roll on second trimester nirvana Smile

First trimester is definitely the worst BeautifulLiar, hope your cold clears up.

Indomitable · 30/07/2015 08:43

Janine, I'm with you: I've woken up with mega-boob. It's very reminiscent of post-birth engorgement, at the tops. Though not quite to that scale. But, ouch!

I'm 5+6 today. Expecting proper ms to arrive in the next few days, along with a friend visiting.

LaraNotCroft22 · 30/07/2015 09:11

Morning all! Welcome londonlady and so happy it was nothing to worry about Jules!

Totally with you ladies on the first trimester being the worst. I found even though the third is tough, you have all the excitement of impending baby and maternity leave making it better! Plus with many of us having Xmas at the beginning of the third hopefully it will fly by! Smile

X Factor starts next month and that's the countdown to Xmas anyway haha.

Anyone else had headaches as an early symptom? I've have the last few days and it sucks! Had to take paracetamol but trying not to!
