banana I have been having what I think of as stretching pains round my bikini area on both sides for about a week. This is like a shooting pain going through my hip, I think it is back related as I have wonky hips and a curvy spine and have been sat on a beanbag at home because we have no sofa. I may call my chiropractor and see what she says although my midwife doesn't approve a chiropractor in pregnancy.

clarabellski · 21/07/2015 13:38

Welcome to the thread SurreyBunny, congratulations on your successful IVF. I've added your details to the spreadsheet.

clarabellski · 21/07/2015 13:45

Jellypi that's a really clear scan, amazing!!! Congratulations! Cake

RattyCatty · 21/07/2015 14:33

jellypi lovely scan! Smile

Phoenix80 · 21/07/2015 15:40

Congratulations jellypi, lovely photo Smile

Welcome to the thread Surrey Smile

I've been to Meadowhall today with my boys' had a quick look at maternity sale stuff in Mothercare but not buying til after my scan. I looked at maternity bras but they don't do my size Sad do they think that women of the big boobed variety don't have babies Grin.

QuackQuackers · 21/07/2015 15:47

clumsy my chiropractor was the only thing that kept me moving last pregnancy! By the end I was going twice a week just to get some relief!

Make sure the person you use has some experience in antenatal clients though. A good one really can work miracles. I;m worried I won't be able to afford to go as frequently this time which is already worrying me!

BananaRaces · 21/07/2015 15:59

Phoenix I have enormous norks and have spotted some likely looking maternity bras in Bravissimo - there is hope! I won't get any until after my scan though. I have difficulty finding my size at the best of times - I was a 32GG before pregnancy and have gone up to a 34H already... I dread to think what I might be in a few months time!

clarabellski · 21/07/2015 16:19

Sorry for silly question, but what is difference between a maternity bra and an ordinary bra?

Is a maternity bra the same thing as a nursing bra?

Cheers!
Clara

clumsypots · 21/07/2015 16:26

Thanks quack I love my chiropractor when I was pregnant in November she said some manipulation was fine but there was some she would avoid until
I was out of first trimester. I haven't had to see her yet so far this pregnancy but I know the bigger i get the worse pressure will be put on my back.
What a fab pic jellypi and hi surrey

Happytimes2 · 21/07/2015 16:28

Nursing bras have some kind of hook/latch to Bob u boob out for feeding. Not sure what the difference between maternity or normal bras think they might b softer or something. We'll probably need a bigger size when it comes to nursing bras x

BadgieBear · 21/07/2015 16:35

What a great scan pic jellypi!

And welcome surrey.

No news here, the vomiting continues much the same as ever. Loving the scan pics - they remind me that all this hanging out in the bathroom is for a good cause!!! Smile

Littleoakhorn · 21/07/2015 16:43

Congratulations Jelly! Hello Surrey Smile

Maternity bras are usually awful, non-wired bras with extra hooks at the back so that you can still wear them when your rib cage gets expanded by your baby towards the end of pregnancy.

Nursing bras are the same, but they've got hooks on the shoulder strap that you undo to expose a book for breastfeeding.

You can sometimes get soft wired versions and you can also buy back extenders for your normal bras. Converter kits to turn your normal bras into nursing bras are apparently available on amazon.

personally, I'll be in sports bras until the birth, then Emma Janes afterwards. They aren't pretty or shapely but I found them comfortable enough last time.

Littleoakhorn · 21/07/2015 16:44

Book. Yep, that's exactly what I meant. Thanks phone.

clarabellski · 21/07/2015 16:58

OMG, what's going to happen to my ribcage?!?!? Shock

I really need to buy a pregnancy book or something...

Thanks for the info ladies x

RattyCatty · 21/07/2015 17:08

I'm with you clara what happens to your rib cage?!

BlueKarou · 21/07/2015 17:09

Hi, a bit late to the thread(s), but I'd like to introduce myself.

I'm Karou (not my real name! :p) and I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow with my first. It's an IVF baby, so I have been lucky enough to have already had a scan at 7.5 weeks, where I saw a tiny blob with a flickering heartbeat. (and breathed a big sigh of relief!)

Waiting for my scan appointment and desperate to see what the blob has grown into.

Now, to add to the spreadsheet!

jellypi3 · 21/07/2015 17:26

Welcome and congrats karou :)

Lovely scan picture jelly
Congratulations karou must have been fab seeing your little bean with a heartbeat.

BlueKarou · 21/07/2015 17:42

Thanks jelly & rdr

The scan was lovely. I went in half expecting to hear that I'd somehow messed up the POAS and it wasn't real. So to see it and hear that everything looked good was such a relief!

primarynoodle · 21/07/2015 17:49

had my scan today, baby is fine but they couldnt find the source of the pain so said its probably stretching pains and i must have slept funny on saturday night.. think i might need to invest in a preggo pillow too!

they also moved my due date back a week so im back to 10 weeks now - i feel cheated! thought i was nearing the end!!

primarynoodle · 21/07/2015 17:50

the end of the first trimester that is... obviously weve got a little way to go yet!

primarynoodle · 21/07/2015 17:50

congrats newbies and fellow scanners Smile

Phoenix80 · 21/07/2015 17:56

primarynoodle · 21/07/2015 18:26
