Well I went maternity clothes shopping today.

Hmm this will be hard work. Mamas & Papas didn't even stock maternity clothes. Mothercare and New Look had literally 2 racks. Was dismal.

Bought a skirt from JoJo Maman and have ordered 2 x pairs of jeans and 1 x leggings from Next online.

I suspect though whilst my trousers don't fit, I'm not sure maternity stuff will..

In a strange limbo at the moment without a real bump but am so uncomfy!!!

So sorry Lillian Thanks

Tiredoftiredness · 20/07/2015 21:58

Forgot to say - I'll also probably look into the Facebook group after my scan, bit too nervous before that! Daft question but how does a Facebook group work exactly...? Bit of a Facebook novice!

Mumof1sofar · 20/07/2015 22:11

Tired if you're interested pm twins once you've had your scan & she can add you. It's a secret group so won't show up anywhere on your wall or to your friends that you're in it or if you post in it.

Mumof1sofar · 20/07/2015 22:12

Twins I hope that's ok!Smile

Does anyone know if you can get sciatica (sp?) going up the front of your hip rather than down your bum? I kept having to jump out my chair at work today and it felt like my normal sciatica pain but in the wrong place if that make sense. I did manage to convince dh that I can't cope sitting on beanbags anymore though so he has bought me a chair from ikea (as this is cheaper than multiple chiropractor appointments) while the great sofa debate continues...

Pagerty · 21/07/2015 00:32

Lovely lovely scan pictures today Smile

QuackQuackers · 21/07/2015 05:24

no idea clumsy With my sciatica I do often get a pain the seems to twist round the side of my thingy and ends up crossing over my knee and finishes down on the inside of my calf. No idea if it's technically sciatica, but definitely not a pain I had before I got sciatica so I always assumed it was linked somehow.

QuackQuackers · 21/07/2015 05:24

hehe. not my 'thingy'. my thigh!

overreactionemoticon · 21/07/2015 08:02

Goldmaple when I had Ds there were two ultrasound rooms in the hospital in different departments. It depended which one you got sent to as to whether they told you anything - one was specifically for baby scans and they talked you through what they could see etc and the other was for general ultrasounds and they just scanned you in silence and sent you off! I had fortnightly scans with Ds and used to hope my appointment would be in the 'right' one.

haquoi123 · 21/07/2015 08:06

Has anyone got any suggestions for pregnancy pillows? I'm currently sleeping with three: a v shaped one that supports my back, normal one under my head and another to go between my knees and to hug. It's the only way I don't feel squashed and horrible! But I think I need a proper pregnancy one for when my bump gets bigger...

Congrats on all the scans! brummie I'm so pleased for you :)

overreactionemoticon · 21/07/2015 08:07

This was my 'bump' yesterday at 9+5.
God knows what it's made of I've been so sick and hardly kept much down!

I don't want to buy maternity clothes til later as what I buy now won't fit then so think I'm going to buy a few cheap maxi dresses and leggings to wear with loose tops for now.

clumsypots · 21/07/2015 08:07

Thanks quack sounds like it might be quite normal then. sickness has returned with a vengeance today, had 6 days of not being sick and thought I had got over the worst of it...obviously not!

Goldmaple my hospital also has two separate scanning departments. I had an ovarian cyst during the last pregnancy and neither scanning department would scan the other ones 'bits' even though they both directly effected each other! It was a nightmare especially when I had appointments with each on two consecutive days. You never know though. You may be luckier than me!

As for me, no more spotting today, trying to remain positive that it is as common as the midwife says. Scan is next Tuesday. Already nervous.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 21/07/2015 08:40

Great bump overreaction Smile

I'm having a clothes nightmare at the moment. I've lost 10lbs so far but have a bump. All my jeans are too big and my tops are too small but I dont want to buy anything until after my scan next week and then I don't want to buy too much that I'll just grow out of

rallytog1 · 21/07/2015 08:47

haquoi the dream genii pillow was good for me last time. They're expensive (about £40) but I felt it was worth the investment (sometimes you can get them second hand on eBay a lot cheaper). I also got a memory foam v pillow last time, which was a godsend behind me in late pregnancy and was great for holding and feeding my dd while making my cs scar feel protected.

BananaRaces · 21/07/2015 09:52

clumsy I've been getting exactly what you describe every now and then for the last few days but I had assumed it was round ligament pain (I don't really know though because this is my first). I'm getting it kind of along my bikini line (if that makes sense), but it's a shooting crampy kind of pain. Does that sound familiar?

clarabellski · 21/07/2015 09:57

Good morning everyone, just catching up after a long weekend.

It is strange to read 5/6 pages of updates in one go. There was Lillian's sad news but then happy news from Brummie, Jelly and others. It is hard to process sometimes...

I'm also another one of those people that cry at adverts even before I was pregnant. There's a new Lloyds bank one that got me over the weekend with horses. I'm not even a horsey person!

Also, new symptom alert! Apparently I did a bit of sleepwalking last night. Not sure if DH is pulling my leg or not (if he is then that leg is going to kick his nether regions pretty hard). I've never done this before (that I'm aware of). Anyone else sleepwalking?

Stepawayfromthezebras · 21/07/2015 10:05

banana I've been getting pains like that too - also my first pregnancy - and a few where they feel like they're going down into my cervix

BananaRaces · 21/07/2015 10:37

Stepaway it's reassuring that you're having the same thing, it's so odd when you get pain you've never had before and you don't know if it's normal Confused.

birdbrain21 · 21/07/2015 12:31

banana sounds like ligament pain to me.
Last week I had a few awkward questions at work that I had to lie because I hadn't had my scan now I've had it and am happy to tell the world no good opportunities seem to be coming up in conversation!
3 days till summer hols! Any other teachers still at work?

SurreyBunny · 21/07/2015 13:10

Hello!
Please can I join? I am currently 8+6 with my 2nd DC but this one is an IVF baby. I was waiting until I had a good scan to join which we did on Sat - it was amazing to see.

I am having a lot of stitch like pains, electric shock like feelings from my bikini line going up and down at the same time, nerve pain in my bum and aching in the front of my pelvis so it's nice to hear I'm not the only one!

Can someone please add me to the stats? I tried but couldn't edit it -

This will be DC #2
Am based in Surrey

Don't have my booking apt or scan dates yet and I will definitely be finding out the gender. Can't wait until my 12 week scan so I can come off these IVF meds and tell everyone though seeing as I look about 6 months I'm sure they've guessed although no-one other then parents know we went through fertility treatment and we wont be telling them either...
