Flowers Brummie, be gentle with yourself lovely.

Clara I was just saying to DH this morning that my nausea seems to have switched from being at it's worst in the mornings to the evenings in the last couple of days and I am 9+3... maybe this is the start of the nausea calming down (crosses everything).

I just wanted to say a huge THANKYOU to everyone who helped me yesterday. I was so hormonal that when I got home from work I had an enormous sobbing cry on DH (who looked totally confused but hugged me anyway) and then I felt a lot better. You all really helped me to realise that it's natural to have doubts about something so damn huge and that my hormones were making it SO much worse. You all deserve a gold star each -> Star

birdbrain my scan's in 2 weeks time and DP is a bit disappointed that I'm not excited about the pregnancy yet but I can't get properly excited until after the scan.

Hope your scan goes Ok today Smile

monkerina · 17/07/2015 09:57

Dammit, I miss Purdie already.

Brummie, totally get the fear. Still terrified there's nothing in there/stopped growing/whatever; it's not the same I know, but all we can do is stay strong and trust that it will all be OK! The other ladies have said it well- the risk is still miniscule Flowers

monkerina · 17/07/2015 09:59

Gluck today Birdbrain! Can't wait to see the pics Smile

primarynoodle · 17/07/2015 10:28

ooo i love scan days Grin cant wait to see the photo birdbrain

Littleoakhorn · 17/07/2015 11:23

ohjelly I'm 8+5 too. Last time around my absolute worst day was at 9 weeks, so I'm hanging on to the fact that things will get better very soon. At ten weeks I had a day with no nausea at all, which freaked me out no end!

Good luck today birdbrain

NoMontagues · 17/07/2015 11:26

banana glad you're feeling better Smile

monk I'm the same, especially now that the sickness is pretty much gone.

NoMontagues · 17/07/2015 11:27

Fab news birdbrain!

Phoenix80 · 17/07/2015 13:36

My sickness has got worse since Tuesday, not been sick just feeling sick. The only time I have been sick is after that weird dizzy spell thing yesterday. I still don't have a clue how far I am though till I have my scan on Wednesday Grin

Phoenix80 · 17/07/2015 13:38

I didn't catch up as far as your post Birdbrain fabulous scan news Smile

NoMontagues · 17/07/2015 13:58

Yay birdbrain congrats!

Mine was changed to 27th Jan so I'll be your partner in naughtiness for now. I'm too invested in this thread to even consider moving!

RattyCatty · 17/07/2015 14:04

Yay birdbrain!

clarabellski · 17/07/2015 14:14

Eugh, post-lunch slump.

Great news on your scan birdbrain! Not to put a dampener on it for you or Montague but chances are you'll be giving birth in February anyway!!!! Wink

I know its early days yet but is anyone who is currently employed thinking about what they might do re maternity leave etc? OH and I are quite keen to take advantage of the new shared parental leave rules but I'm a bit apprehensive about how it might affect OH and his relationship with employer/career for him to take a few months leave.

LillianMakesAMinion · 17/07/2015 14:46

rebecca I had to force myself to walk past the baby GAP store yesterday without buying anything!

brummie Flowers hope you are reassured by the ladies here - last thing you need is another thing to worry about. I'm 36 myself.

Called the booking centre and they confirmed my 12 week scan is next Monday but it's too close to when I have to leave for my holiday. I don't think I could deal with having to fly overseas if the news was bad Confused. So I bit the bullet and booked myself in for a private scan tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!!!! So excited and so scared at the same time. It's only a scan (no bloods and no Nuchal assessment) so I will still attend my 12 week one with NHS.

LillianMakesAMinion · 17/07/2015 15:22

congrats birdbrain! You must be so happy! CakeCake

monkerina miss purdie's support and clever wit too. Hope she decides to come back as purdiecomesback

birdbrain21 · 17/07/2015 15:24

clarabellski I know that's likely I had to be induced with my dd because she didn't want to come out. Had a sneaky tour of the midwife unit while we were anyway there for the scan and it's lovely so determined to not be induced this time that I can go there. If I'm a week late naturally though it'll be a feb birth so we'll wait and see. Probably some people with feb due dates wi be a bit early anyway...

RattyCatty · 17/07/2015 15:30

lilian good luck with the scan tomorrow

StockingFullOfCoal · 17/07/2015 15:55

Anyone else wanting to peel their own skin off today?! I just feel disgustingly bloated, sweaty, sticky and gross. And its only the first trimo, I'm gonna get bigger and grosser.

I am not liking how much my stomach is sticking out, some twat I don't know, who was stood with one of the Mums I do know and was talking to at school told me "You look massive, no way you're only 9 weeks." still thinner than you, dear stranger who will soon meet my fist should you call me massive again Angry Angry Angry

NoMontagues · 17/07/2015 16:07

Good luck tomorrow lillian !

clara February is a distinct possibility. My other two were 39+1 and 39+4, but every pregnancy is different!

I'm employed but DH is self-employed, so I'll be taking all the available leave. I don't think we even have an option for employed dads to take much leave here in Ireland. I know they can take parental leave, but only with employer's consent.

clarabellski · 17/07/2015 16:41

Some of us might not even pop until March but I can't even bear to contemplate that possibility just yet Confused

Whoops montague, I forget we're not all based in UK! Blush

Have a lovely weekend everyone and I wish all of you with scans over the next few days well Flowers

The weather is shocking here over the weekend, and I have Monday off, so I will mostly be wearing my duvet, can't wait!
