Jelly I love it! Team filly, willy or...?

NoMontagues · 15/07/2015 18:54

rufus no, it was the same price.

The Panorama and harmony were both the same price as each other too, although in some places Harmony costs more. I'm still Hmm about how much I paid for Harmony last year.

Some clinics must just put a massive mark-up on it is all I can think.

I had intended to go with Panorama this time, but then I opted for Harmony in the end, just on the off-chance that it was a twin pregnancy, because I was only getting the scan on the day of the test iyswim.

goneswimming · 15/07/2015 19:04

Ooh jelly that set sounds lovely! I'm going to try to hold off buying any baby kit til end of 2nd trimester if I can, but gosh I need some clothes that fit soon! I'm trying to tell myself a new bra doesn't count as mat wear ????

Littleoakhorn · 15/07/2015 19:08

Argh! I posted and then the thread updated by loads. Clumsy I'm glad the docs are looking after you so well. Definitely use us as your worry outlet if you need to xx

I don't know if I'll find out which team baby is on this time. It would be nice to have a surprise but then on the other hand it's a lot easier picking just one set of names!

jellypi3 · 15/07/2015 19:14

The way we see it regarding finding out the baby's sex, it's still a surprise, it's just an earlier surprise than you would have had.

Good luck with all the scans
I bought next to no mat clothes last time as have a uniform work so just got a nice dress some jeans, leggings and tops. A lot of my fat wardrobe fit while pregnant!

Defo finding out gender

Tiredoftiredness · 15/07/2015 20:14

I can't decide whether to find out gender or not, DH is dead against and we didn't with DS until half an hour before he was born thanks to the emergency sonographer

But like someone said above, I prefer the idea of introducing DS to the idea with "you're going to have a baby brother/sister" rather than a generic baby. I also worry that he'd get his heart set on one gender and be cross if I produced the other!

I need to figure out how best to break the news to my boss, although I know he'll be brilliant with me about it I also know that my being off for 9months is going to massively increase the stress levels of a man who already works ridiculous hours, struggles with his MH and refuses to let others share the load. Going to go in with a list of things I can pass to others and bits I can do for home but anyone else got any tips?

fififolle · 15/07/2015 20:23

Is there a Facebook group set up for this thread?

clumsypots · 15/07/2015 20:41

tired I was wondering this too as I am the only one that works in the offce in my department. I am pleased with the timing because at least I will be off in the quiet period though (someone else will have to do my filing mwahaha)

Just been out with the office girls so lots of giggling over a curry helping me to relax

LillianMakesAMinion · 15/07/2015 21:54

Jellypi I'm with you - it's a surprise either way just a little earlier. DH def want to find out too :)

congrats on the latest happy scans nomontagues and rufus SmileSmile

The clothing situation is getting ridiculous ESPECIALLY jeans - why do I only have skinny jeans??

Brummie I'm tiny too at just shy of 5 foot. So I know all about the hemming and rolling - I'm worried I'm going to be wider than I am tall!!

Phoenix80 · 15/07/2015 22:07

Brilliant scan news today. A week today for mine and I can't wait although I'm crapping myself and I've managed to convince myself that something will be wrong Sad. I'm trying to be positive but until I know I'm going to be worrying.

My uniform trousers were getting tight even before I found out I was pregnant and now they're held up by the zip as far as I can get it and a belt. Luckily my T shirt covers it Grin. I've only got all day tomorrow and 2 hours on Saturday and I finish for 2 weeks anyway so if all is well at my scan I think I'll be ordering some maternity uniform for when I go back.

clumsypots · 15/07/2015 22:08

Just found some skirts and trousers in asda with elasticated waists, hopefully solved the problem of not wanting to buy maternity clothes to contain my bloating. Obviously picked up some long tops so no one can see said elastic Wink

Pagerty · 15/07/2015 22:15

Wow, so many pages to catch up on since my last visit.

Clumsy Flowers pleased to hear you have a robust support network around you.

That is fabulous news Nomontagues. So exciting to know the gender so early on.

Lovely to hear everyone else's good news too.

We won't be finding out the gender, well we will try not too as we didn't want to find out last time until we can face to face with his bits as soon as the scan began! They tried to tell me it wasn't what I thought it was but I knew (and spotted his little 'turtle' at a later scan too).

I got my Next sale slot earlier this evening and they had maternity jeans on there for around £14, I didn't want to buy anything before my scan but that is not until Tuesday after next and there will be nothing left by then, so I bought so e but won't wear until I know all is well. I did order two sizes though as my thighs are even more chunky than usual, I need to stop eating cake and biscuits. My sweet tooth is on over drive!

Pagerty · 15/07/2015 22:19

Phoenix I am the same. While I am excited for my scan. I keeping worrying that there is nothing there and my BFB,s were caused by so etching else. It doesn't help that I have no symptoms.

Pagerty · 15/07/2015 22:20

*BFP's

MrsSimkins · 15/07/2015 22:26

Hi Ladies,
Smile just joining the group. Added to stats and very pleased to 'meet' you all xxx

Phoenix80 · 15/07/2015 22:27

That's what I've been thinking too Pagerty. I have even googled what can give false positives. I'm driving myself insane and steering clear of Google from now on!! Dh will go mad with me if I tell him lol.

LillianMakesAMinion · 15/07/2015 22:31

Welcome mrssimskins!

Poetschild · 15/07/2015 22:32

I bought a pair of under bump mat jeans at New Look today because they were on sale. Felt a bit funny doing it before the scan but didn't want to miss the bargain!

NoMontagues · 15/07/2015 22:35

My sister still has all my maternity stuff, I'm going to tell her next week so I should be able to get it then.

I found h&m ok the last time, and asos. I also inherited a lot of things from my other sister who is about 4 inches shorter than me. She had just chopped the ends off all her jeans Grin I just wore them inside boots or did a little roll at the bottom during summer.

rdr15 · 16/07/2015 08:43

Just discovered this antenatal club section can I join?! Roughly think about 8 weeks pregnant due possibly 24/02/16 first scan 11/08. Mother to a 1 year old DD. Really scared about being pregnant again!

QuackQuackers · 16/07/2015 08:46

Welcome rdr. My due date is 24th too!

My daughter turned one last weekend - so we're in exactly the same boat!

rdr15 · 16/07/2015 08:51

QuackQuackers that's fab how are you feeling about it? My daughter was 1 23/6. This pregnancy wasn't planned so have had lots of different feelings about it to last time.

QuackQuackers · 16/07/2015 09:00

Well...it was planned. But it happened a lot quicker than expected! I feel very worried about how I'll manage with two! But it's too late now! I'm sure we'll learn to cope!
