Hi everyone, really sorry to hear about the bad news some of you are having- and Lily, really glad you are feeling calmer .

I had a scan today and I am proud owner of a 6 week and 3 day Smudge with a heartbeat!!!

I am very excited-my first ever scan! Mum was with me and v excited too!

All starting to feel a bit more real now-and whoever said they have the lowest ever pain threshold...hmm that may actually be me ....

Bosabosa · 23/06/2015 22:41

Stocking, thanks for not going into detail!!
Intrigued by hypnosis- did you do hypnobirthing? Am thinking of looking into that
Night all

Tiredoftiredness · 23/06/2015 22:43

Congrats bosa that's great!

StockingFullOfCoal · 23/06/2015 22:53

Natal Hypnotherapy. Best £40 I ever spent. Will be buying it again. Put it on my iPod shuffle, perfect size for holding crushing in the palm of your hand! It was fabulous. But it was my third birth. Mostly I just used it so I didn't have a massive panic attack whilst in labour like I did with my second, and it worked well!

It was, thankfully, an incredibly rare situation and tallied with some serious negligence, I haven't step foot in that hospital since. If my waters broke outside that hospital I'd walk the 20 miles to the next one!

Curlywurlies · 23/06/2015 23:08

Trying to catch up, sorry to everyone who's going through bad times, hope you're all being well looked after.

Hi ratty and others with crampy feelings, am also 8 weeks and feel like my period's coming. Trying to stay upbeat even though my swollen sore boobs suddenly seem totally normal and I'm wide awake when I've been passing out at 9pm every day! Stupid to wish for sickness when I know how horrible some have it. As we say, today I am pregnant. Smile

Rufus200 · 23/06/2015 23:20

I'm 7 weeks and up until yesterday had just had mild cramps in the evening, all day long today I've had really painful AF like cramps that have just gotten even worse in the last hour but (touch wood) not had a bleed in a week!

WouldRatherHaveCake · 23/06/2015 23:39

stocking is there any way you could PM me with what happened pretty please?! I had a traumatic first birth with similar issues after but I want another vaginal rather than a section so would be great to hear your experiences if you wouldn't mind? I know I'm being massively cheeky but pure the first I've come across!

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 24/06/2015 07:57

Woke up with very heavy bleeding. Off to hospital. Very scared.

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 24/06/2015 09:29

Thank you for wishes everyone. They just did a preg test on urine and it's negative. How can I feel implantation for days and it be a chemical pregnancy? I'm so confused. They're doing a blood test but pretty sure it's going to be negative if urine one was? :(

Ohjellybelly · 24/06/2015 09:38

Morning all.
Congratulations to all of you with happy scans. My thoughts are with everyone that have suffered losses or that are worrying about it. I've been there - it's not nice.

I have a question. It's been 9 years since I last done the whole pregnancy thing but I'm wondering just how much things have changed.
Yesterday, I had to complete a pregnancy registration form at the GP's (no gp appointmnent), this would then be passed on to the midwife team who will then make my first apoointment. When I asked the receptionist how long the wait is, he advised that I won't be seen until after the 12 week scan. Is this usual?
The form requested nothing other then name, address, d.o.b and lmp. No mention of history.
I've had three miscarriages, one loss at 21 weeks and pre eclampsia - I would have thought that a booking appointment be made sooner?

Please could you let me know whether this is normal practise now, or should I try and contact the midwife directly to get a sooner appointment?

Zookeeper73 · 24/06/2015 09:43

Oh no Teddy, sending you hugs

BananaRaces · 24/06/2015 09:45

Oh no Teddy! Thinking of you Flowers

AbFab86 · 24/06/2015 09:49

I'm sorry teddy. Are you still very early on? I don't know how sensitive the urine tests they use are.

haquoi123 · 24/06/2015 09:50

teddy the blood test will tell you exactly how much hormone there is, whereas the hpt has a threshold of sensitivity. I had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before this one and my blood test came back as 2. You need 5 to be pregnant, but it at least showed i had been pg. I also had so many symptoms and implantation pain. I'm really sorry you're having to go through this.

jellybelly you're right you should definitely be seen sooner than 12 weeks, especially with your losses. Even low risk pregnancies should touch in with a midwife before ten weeks. Can you make a GP appointment? It's worth being very upfront with them and getting consultant led care. I lost my son at 19 weeks last September and so they're keeping a close eye on me, which is good for the stress.

rallytog1 · 24/06/2015 09:51

Oh Teddy Thanks Is there any chance you ovulated really late? Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Jellybelly I would definitely think you should be booked in sooner with your history. Is it worth you making a GP appointment to see if they'll get you in sooner? Or is there a number you could phone for the community midwives to explain your situation and get them to book you sooner?
