As for home births... I could have had DD2 at home no problems as the labour was easy (even though she was over 10lbs) BUT I would have been red lighted to hospital afterwards as I had quite a large PPH. Nothing that wasn't easily controlable, but would have been far more stressful at home! I live too far away from the hospital for me to think about it anyway Wink

I agree a scan is only reassuring for a short time! Even after the 12w one I was quite nervous something had happened before the 20w one! Pregnancy is nothing but worry sometimes Wink Then having kids is not much better either! Always worrying about doing the right things for them, that they are healthy, everything is normal etc.... essentially once you decide to have kids your nerves will never be the same again Wink Wink

haquoi123 · 22/06/2015 09:40

Oh mawsy I'm so sorry to hear that! Thinking of you and hoping it's ok xx

raviolig · 22/06/2015 09:42

Mawsy fx everything is ok xxxx

Marsaday · 22/06/2015 10:25

mawsy fingers crossed for you.
haquoi thats is really frustrating about the gp. Hopefully they will be helpful on phone, might end up telling you to come in.
I've just tried to book a private scan. There are about 6 clinics in my area - many only offer scans on a weekday morning, (no use as im a teacher) and all those with weekends and evenings are booked solid for 4 weeks. Which means I'll be nearly at dating scan anyway, so pointless.
I know it's ridiculous to be upset, but I'm gutted about it.

rallytog1 · 22/06/2015 10:39

Oh mawsy, hope you're able to get someone to come and support you. Keeping everything crossed it's just the bleed you were told to expect Thanks

BananaRaces · 22/06/2015 10:43

Purdie, I've also had no spotting and only a few minutes of cramping, generally in the evening. Mainly just had sore boobs and my appetite has gone through the roof in the last few days!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 22/06/2015 11:21

Mayoforsam that sounds rather alarming, I hope you feel better soon.

I have discovered that MSG doesn't agree with me in pregnancy, after a busy weekend we had a msg-tastic chinese takeaway last night and my heart started going 10 the dozen, will definitely be avoiding it for the foreseeable future!

And my midwife's arranged my booking appointment for 13th July when I'll be 10 weeks - it feels like aaages away!

haquoi123 · 22/06/2015 11:21

marsaday I spoke to the GP and he said they didn't give out medication for nausea unless you were vomiting. I listened to him spiel about eating little and often, blah blah and eventually i just said that if i couldn't get out of bed and couldn't work, therefore couldn't get paid, what could he suggest?! He said to come back in a few days. Oh well!

haquoi123 · 22/06/2015 11:23

Wow mayo, hope you're able to take it easy today x

IslaMann · 22/06/2015 11:24

Does anyone know what's happened on the stats? Loads of the info is missing.

Rufus200 · 22/06/2015 11:28

There is a reason the NHS is on its knees and that it because of stupid waste of time appointments. I have spent the whole morning on the phone going between my GPs surgery and the midwife team. The midwife team won't speak to me on the phone unless they have a referral form from my GP but I can self refer online, except their online form is faulty and won't work. My GP wants to waste hers and my time and make me sit in a reception full of sick people as she won't take my word that I am pregnant and that I've already had a scan. I'm not even going to be under the NHS care but will be private but been told I have to have a 1st midwife appointment to be in the system. I don't want to have to drive to the GPs in the next town when I'm nauseous, so cross right now!

I know exactly what is going to happen now because of my past history of mental health problems, that my NHS local authority who was no help and left me for 4 weeks with suicidal depression with no care, they are going to now interfere and cause me problems, despite the fact I have been clear of all symptoms for 3 years now. Why did I bother calling them???

Sorry NHS rant over.

StockingFullOfCoal · 22/06/2015 12:09

rufus is there a Peri Natal Psych team in your PCT? But then if you're private anyway I suppose it doesn't matter much! I have BiPolar disorder, I had PTSD after my first birth and full blown Post Natal Psychosis. That was 10 years ago. They were utterly useless (I was also 18) but when I was sent to the Peri Natal team with my 2nd and 3rd they were fab. I'm currently medicated for severe anxiety. Must admit I'm dreading booking appointment as I hate going over it at all again.

haquoi123 · 22/06/2015 12:38

Eurgh, puking when you haven't eaten enough is gruesome. On the hand my body wants to prove that GP wrong!

Mawsymoo · 22/06/2015 12:45

Thanks ladies. TMI alert.

Nightmare morning for me but was seen in the hospital quickly (arriving into the antenatal clinic dripping blood helps with that) and I'm settled now and cleaned up and have those big green maternity pads to manage things. It wasn't just the fear but also the loss of dignity and not knowing what to do - it was so horrible. I was on my way to work and had to go into a random office block and ask to use their toilets and then I sat on the steps outside crying and afraid to move.

Anyway they did a scan at the hospital and they could see the heartbeat but also the bleed so it's just a case of wait and see. They can't do anything for the bleeding or the baby at this stage. I'm feeling quite down in the dumps...

Hope everyone else is doing okay x sorry for being so miserable.

jellypi3 · 22/06/2015 12:51

mawsy sorry you are going through this. Did they say what caused the bleed? Good that they saw a HB though.

I had a double combo of vomiting and dire-rear today, isn't early pregnancy attractive Hmm
