Yes definitely feeling less sick today.
But that's normal - right? It can come and go?

RattyCatty · 20/06/2015 10:27

Hi ladies - some advice please...

I'm supposed to be going to a best friends bbq today. She is lovely & knows I'm pregnant & has even wrapped up some pregnancy books for me in the disguise as a present for my cousin so that others don't suspect I'm pregnant. She called earlier to tell me that & that her 8 month son went to the doc yesterday & has hand, foot & mouth disease. I have done some googling & seems v contagious but adults rarely get it? Nhs website says there's a chance of miscarriage in early pregnancy as you get a fever. Not sure what to do or whether to go? Am I being silly?

purdiepie · 20/06/2015 10:29

Ratty, don't go!

Monty, so many congrats on your success. Lovely.

SweetCharlotteRose · 20/06/2015 10:30

I wouldn't go ratty. Why take the risk?

QuackQuackers · 20/06/2015 10:35

hello ladies! Can I tentatively join you? I got my bfp at 5am today. Bit shocked, bit scared but very excited.
DD is turning one 3weeks today - eek!

QuackQuackers · 20/06/2015 10:36

Oh and I can't believe you've filled three threads already! Must be a great group of chatterboxes!

purdiepie · 20/06/2015 10:42

Quack, welcome and congrats! There are loads of insane fruitbats on here who decided having two tots under two would be a good idea. Me included Hmm

NoMontagues · 20/06/2015 10:55

purdie I meant you, missus. As in, you're nearly 8 weeks Smile

Hi quack and welcome! I'm also (fx) doing the 2 under 2 thing. DS turns 1 in August. Bring it on, I say!

Rufus200 · 20/06/2015 11:18

Ratty do NOT go! It is not worth the risk!

I am feeling so wretched! Last night had to sleep with my bands on, or rather wear them while I tossed and turned all night. Woke up with blocked sinuses, the snot running down my throat is making me gag. Had breakfast, made the mistake of taking my bands off to have a shower. Feel 1000x worse now! Supposed to be driving to my BFs but is a 2 hr round trip and there is no way I can drive right now! Plus supposed to be thunderstorms where she is and I always get pressure headaches. I don't want to end up stuck at her house and unable to get home, so going to have to cancel.

RattyCatty · 20/06/2015 11:32

Thanks ladies for advice - you are right, not going to take the risk. Even if it was fine & I didn't catch it, if something went wrong I'd slways wonder.

rufus that sounds tough! Hope you're ok.

Bosabosa · 20/06/2015 11:45

Ratty-good move.
Quacks-welcome to the club!

Rufus- stay in bed you poor thing.

Rose85 · 20/06/2015 12:17

Happy Saturday ladies and sticky beans.

I have a dear friends birthday BBQ/ party this afternoon and will be a very boozy affair.
The hubby has had to book leave to be my sidekick and help me with drinks.
I'm even poring out the content of my favorite wine (don't worry it's already opened from when my SIL visited) Sad and going to try and tactfully fill it with alcohol free stuff I pick up in Asda this morning, God knows what it's going to taste like.

Brummiegirl15 · 20/06/2015 12:19

Can I ask is anyone else suffering from palpitations? Especially at night? I lie in bed and I'm so tired and I'm really restless but my heart is hammering away and it makes me really breathless. I can ever hear my heartbeat pulsing away in my ears!!

Apparently it's normal as it's my heart working harder to get the blood to me and the baby but it's a bit alarming!

purdiepie · 20/06/2015 12:23

Rose, alcohol in pregnancy isn't completely outlawed.

SmashleyHop · 20/06/2015 12:25

I feel that way sometimes Brummie- It can be a bit scary. I feel dizzy if I get too warm as well. So it's been windows open (even though its raining and cold) and cool showers for me.

I also find myself either put off food or "I will eat ALL the food". No in between. Today I could only stomach a coffee for breakfast, I did manage some cous cous and chocolate milk for lunch. So healthy! Blush

Marsaday · 20/06/2015 12:38

smashley omg i am now craving chocolate milk.

If you want nausea to subside, do not watch a 16 month old eating spaghetti bolognaise. Ashamed to admit that i retched while my little angel was enjoying his lunch.

NoMontagues · 20/06/2015 13:02

brummie I could hear my heart beating in my ears (or blood pumping though my head?) last night sitting on the sofa.

I had it all through my last pregnancy too. The volume of blood in your body increases by 30% during pregnancy, or something.

Just popping in to say goodbye. Not good news for me. I hope you all have happy healthy pregnancies.

Please feel free to remove me from the stats sheet, I don't have the heart to.

Thank you for your company for my journey so far, I hope my experience doesn't add to your anxieties.
