November 2015 ladies! Time to feel the glow!

Are you expecting a babe in November this year? If so, get ready to get glowing. Breaking out in spots, or tears, or both is part of the so called glow. Feeling sick, contemplating births and having the odd good day of eating well is also all glow.

Come on then. Wee in the corner to mark your spot. Have some Brew or Cake or Wine. Then glow.

Anyone else obsessed with looking up baby names like me, I just discovered this site: names.darkgreener.com which is quite handy for seeing how common/unusual a particular name is...

cryingbabymess · 26/05/2015 10:10

Thanks Dixie! I told him he reply was harsh so he's just apologised! I know he didn't mean it that way but meh! Lol.

Oooo I'll need to have a look at that site, we've decided on our girls name (yes I know already!!!Shock) but need to think of a boys name!! We are staying team yellow until November!

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 10:17

crying unfortunately I think that is a man's idea of being helpful! Sounds very much like my OH! So on his behalf I hope you feel better soon, sorry you're feeling shitty and if it gets too much take a sick day go home and rest if you can do x

Dixie I'm name searching all the time! My Mam also texts me every day with ideas (usually the same ones each day!) We have a couple of ideas but will wait to see what he or she looks like before making a decision. We will be finding out the sex though so hopefully that will help me!

gennibugs · 26/05/2015 10:17

I think men just think practically. my DH is the same - always thinking of solutions. We are staying team yellow too but I'd like a shortlist of names for either I think so will check out that site!

Just back from hospital, everything looking ok and the consultant doesn't need to see me again which is good. There was a scanner in the room so she gave me a quick scan which was lovely and so reassuring. lovely to see its little legs kicking about Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/05/2015 10:22

I still feel sick too and am over 17 weeks now Sad I had this last time, much worse sickness in the second trimester, that ended after the scan, so hopefully only 3 more weeks of it maximum.
I've also become ridiculously worried about my placenta growing in my scar. I have no idea why really, I should step away from google. Although my gut feeling about low lying placenta was right in my 1st pregnancy, even though I'm the least gut feeling person ever in non pregnant life!

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 10:27

Ah genni how lovely is that!! Was that at your 16w appointment? I have mine next week but not expecting much from it. Apparently they don't check for a heartbeat anymore in my area which I was really looking forward to!

cryingbabymess · 26/05/2015 10:29

Thanks ladies. I'll tell him off properly tonight! Lol. I'm defo feeling better now! Was just a funny turn! We are 100% set on our girls name but thinking I need a back up just in case! We've agreed to not tell anyone our names....too many people have an opinion and if someone says something to me it'll put me off and I love the name! Envy Also don't want to tell anyone as the middle name was my mums name so want it to be a surprise for my dad and brother.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 26/05/2015 10:30

Dixie and Amy I have a potential names list on my phone and keep adding new ideas as they come up. Boys are much harder, only 2 options we both like, but have loads for a girl! We're not finding out either so will be months of debating yet...

10twinkle10 · 26/05/2015 10:32

Hello everyone
Also been looking at prams and haven't got a clue!! I'm 14 weeks (still sick!) and very jealous of everyone who is 16/17 weeks. These 14 weeks are the longest ever!!!
I bought a dress and dragged myself to the wedding at the weekend, it was lovely in the end but on balance I would still have preferred to be in bed!!! I've turned very boring ha

Frescoed · 26/05/2015 10:39

Cheers rough it's a consumer jungle out there in the buggy world....

Oh Abbey it's amazing how to human brain can find something to fix on, I usually get a new thing to worry about every couple of weeks, and you probably have more reason/experience than me... I've mostly had to ban myself from Google.

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 10:47

Heir We are struggling with both to be honest. Although we did have a longer list of girls names but the more I think about them the more I find something wrong with each one! So at the moment there are 2 maybe 3 girls names and only 1 boys we can agree on!

twinkle I am another clueless about prams. Honestly, I have looked and researched and read all the reviews and still baffled. I think OH will end up picking one!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/05/2015 10:49

Buggy shopping is the worst! I think as it's the most expensive purchase it's a difficult one. I always felt shops were trying to upsell me a more expensive one, and then there's working out the price as sometimes it's just the frame and there's the newborn bit to add on and various bits, colours etc. It's a bit like buying a car, although at least you can try the car for the day first

Frescoed yes my pregnancy brain tends to get fixated on things a lot! I know pregnancy is filled with uncertainty but I'll feel better when I know where that pesky placenta is. And if they let me have a c section or not.
Struggling to find decent information on risks of both after premature emcs without random unhelpful googling. I don't see the consultant until 25 weeks as well, everyone else seems to have seen them already?

Laura7010 · 26/05/2015 10:57

I'm sorry to hear about everyone's sickness still but glad I'm not alone! Ive been off work for three weeks with hyperemesis and all I want to do is sleep. All everyone keeps saying is 'it will pass' but it's still firmly here at present, currently building myself up to have a shower!

I'm not the only one either with a name list on my phone Smile lots of my names got crossed off by the OH and we can only think of one boys name (amongst lots of girls names).

Hope everyone has an ok day Smile

Amyyy27 · 26/05/2015 11:06

Laura I'm suffering from hyperemesis too. My heart goes out to you. No one truly understands how bloody awful it is unless they have been through it! Everyone said the same to me and I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and still very ill!

Laura7010 · 26/05/2015 11:19

Oh Amy, I'm sorry to hear that I wouldn't wish it on anyone! Do you have some anti emetics? The second lot they gave me seem to work much better but it can be touch and go at times. I'm 14 weeks, nearly 15 and just can't see any signs of it stopping.
Sorry everyone that's a little bit woe is me isn't it?! I will pull myself together.

TwoBeesInTheHive · 26/05/2015 11:20

I have a names list on my phone too lol. We are set on our boy name, haven't decided middle name yet. We do have a girl name we both like, but I'm not 100% set on it yet. Based on the scan everyone seems to think boy anyway so if they are right we won't have to worry Smile

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 26/05/2015 11:24

Hope those of you with hyperemesis feel better soon. Normal sickness is awful so can't imagine what that must be like.

I'm finding boys names really hard. Girls we have been sorted for years on! SIL is having a boy a few weeks before me (in theory) so I bet if we find one then they'll use it, just because we have similar tastes. So we need at least 2 on the shortlist

SnozzberryPie · 26/05/2015 11:37

I've got a list of names in the back of my diary, I add new ones when I hear one I like and have crossed the odd one off if dp pulled a face at it. We'll find out the sex at the next scan then will try to whittle the list down to one or two names we can agree on. We won't make a final decision until the baby is born, and definitely won't tell anyone else until then.

BowiesJumper · 26/05/2015 11:50

Morning all. Sorry to those of you who are feeling poorly. I can't imagine feeling sick all the time like that.

Thanks for the bumper bar advice! Think I'm swaying towards the Armadillo Flip XT again! Haha.

Names wise, we have a girl's name, but still undecided on a boy's!!

MademoiselleG · 26/05/2015 12:04

Same here: tonnes if girl names but none I absolutely LOVE fit a boy. Also wondering whether to go international or with our mother tongue (my NN gives away my nationality Wink). We went very non international for dd bit weirdly, her name is becoming very fashionable, albeit with a more anglicised spelling. The one boy name I like us really long and really NOT international....Hmm

Thanks Guybrush for that link. I read it v quickly but do I understand this right: they will deduce the childcare vouchers from your SMP if that sum is higher?

Gennii so good to hear you had a good appointment! So you've decided to remain team yellow? I'm cknhknced we're having a boy because the consultant asked us if we wanted to know from our first scan at 11+4 and every single time since, which makes me think there was 'something' to see, otherwise he wouldn't have necessarily mentioned it? Plus I feel SO different to the last two pregnancies (which makes me think our little G must have been a girl as I felt just as horrendous as for my dd!). My dh really wants to find out. I'm quite contrary (!!) so thought I didn't, but the more I think about it, the more I think we'll be able to prepare dd better, especially if it really is a boy, as she's set on having a sister...uh ho!

Dixiebell · 26/05/2015 12:20

The namehunter on nameberry.com is quite handy too, you can search for names based on inspirations, i.e. names you like and it finds similar types. A bit American, but quite fun for generating ideas.

Alittlebitofeverything · 26/05/2015 12:26

After my first scan this morning (technically my second I had a private one at 10 weeks) I have now been told I am due on 29th November so can I join in..?

First baby, pretty easy pregnancy so far, nothing but a bit of extra tiredness so long may that continue. Am I now allowed to start buying things.. I feel like I've been sat on my hands for a while now, pram has already been chosen!

Karmanna13 · 26/05/2015 12:36

We've actually got more boy's names than girl's names on our shortlist this time. Although admittedly a lot of the names on our boy's list are unisex, as is DS1's name - he's called Phoenix. I'm finding it harder this time as rather than just finding a name we can both agree on, we need to find one that doesn't sound odd with his big brother's name. Glad we have a few months to make our minds up!

Karmanna13 · 26/05/2015 12:37

Welcome Alittlebit :D

Focusfocus · 26/05/2015 12:48

We found out we are having a boy, and have found a name which is First Name (from my racial/cultural background) Second Name (from western mythology) - and double barrelled last name. We really love it!! But yes, mnot telling absolutely anyone :)

Now all that remains is to see how the Asian-Indian/white-British is going to come out in his looks! I've got very brown skin and jet black hair and eyes. DH, in his own words is "pasty" white :P with very blonde hair and light hazel eyes. I have absolutely no idea what the wee man is going to look like!

My family who lives in a mono-racial society back home don't really understand what the mixed race thing is, they probably think DH is just quite a bit fairer than me, not that he is from a whole different race!!!

crying your hubby wasn't being harsh! But if mine does that, and he does all the time, he gets tears thrown at him these days!
