Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 28th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 46th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oLJqpadAb2givKYq8OJfGCti3s6xzsTGlI-GoaBfM_M/edit?pli=1#gid=0

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 05:46

Oh and fuck Gina ford.

Fleurchamp · 25/05/2015 07:24

Oh and flying at 31/32 weeks was fine for me. 2 hour flight, aisle seat for easy loo access Grin

No one even asked for my fit to fly note, was I supposed to offer it?

Could be a pain having to keep getting a note though ( I think some airlines need them dated within so many weeks) and my GP charges £25 for them.

Only good thing to come out of the books is I have decided to get a sling/carrier. Was thinking about the caboo close, any good? Also will it be too hot to baby wear if we get a decent summer?

jellypi3 · 25/05/2015 07:37

DP just kind of coughed in an embarrased way, and I reacted with a "YES!" I don't think they meant it in a harsh way but seriously!!

I had a dream I MC'd last night, wasn't pleasant :(

Also, my boobs have ramped up to painful level 1000 today!!

How's everyone spending their Band Holiday?

Hobbit19 · 25/05/2015 07:39

Ha ha thanks Pixie, I did get fed in the end. I had two bites of a delicious burger and was then really full and looked like I was about 6 months pregnant. WTF?!

Jelly I can believe your in laws said that!! I hope you replied with 'Yes actually, in fact we have been Shaggers of the Month for ten months straight on Mumsnet. Boom.' Grin

Jcandy · 25/05/2015 08:13

Morning all Smile

Got my fingers crossed that all these pains are heading somewhere and quickly for you Tee

jelly strange dreams are part of the pregnancy package, I wouldn't read anything into them but it must have been horrible

Well I've managed to not vomit over the previous 2 days (touch wood) still felt nauseous and still fallen asleep in the afternoon but kept all food eaten down. Hoping this is a turning point. It's my birthday tomorrow and I'd really like to be able to go out for a nice meal. Here's hoping!

DulcetMoans · 25/05/2015 08:16

Oh I remember that dream jelly, it's a tough one to shake off. Hope you can try and push it from your mind though! Just a dream, not a premonition, doesn't mean it will happen.

I'm planning a sling too fleur, I think most of us are. la has the caboo close I think. Hoping it won't get the baby too sticky - some nice breathable material will help.

Hope the holiday was good deeply! Are you all relaxed and ready to get planning now? Oh, and we found an egg just under a nest in the draining pipe of an alley once and tried to keep it in the airing cupboard to hatch but no luck.

gaggiagirl · 25/05/2015 08:35

We've got an egg incubator!

jellypi3 · 25/05/2015 08:49

Aww poor little egg :( I've never found an intact egg, only baby chicks before.

I'm trying to ignore the dream but it's not easy is it. These next few weeks are going to drag.

Any news tee?

Pisghetti · 25/05/2015 08:50

I think the caboo would be a good option for summer - it's cotton and the design means there isn't masses of fabric all around you and the baby. I have a Moby stretchy - I love it but it's not one for hot days! A ring sling or mei tai would also only have one layer over the baby and not too much over you if you wanted to try out some different options.

Pisghetti · 25/05/2015 08:51

Jelly yes these will be longest few weeks of your life! Then you end up at the top of La's spreadsheet and wonder how the hell you got there so quickly Grin

Purpleball · 25/05/2015 08:57

I've had the weirdest/scariest dreams of my life since being pregnant. A few have totally freaked me out. The MC one is horrible though

I won't be reading Gina Ford.

I'm flying to Belfast about 25 weeks. And not again after that Angry

Hobbit19 · 25/05/2015 09:16

Yey for not bring sick for two days Jcandy! It may still come and go but at least it is no longer incessant. Happy birthday for tomorrow. 1 week until scan day for us - how did it go so quickly?! Jelly you will be at this point in no time!

I had a dream last night that La was an undercover police officer trying to infiltrate Mumsnet ha ha ha! creepy

PixieChops · 25/05/2015 09:21

Candy hope you have a lovely birthday tomorrow!
Jelly I had the most horrendous dreams when I was pregnant too. Just try not to dwell on them. I'd wake up regularly furious at Dp because in my dream he'd cheated on me, a couple of times I'd had dreams where he'd left me as well and I had the dreaded MC one. Along with ones where I'd given birth and then I couldn't find my baby!
All in all dreams aren't fun when they are horrible but think it's because of all the extra hormones we have at the moment and our subconscious enjoys playing on our weaknesses sometimes and stuff your isn't think you were worried about suddenly rears its ugly head.

batfish · 25/05/2015 09:35

Aww jelly hope you can get it out of your mind, back when I was majorly stressing in the early weeks I had a totally realistic other than the nurse being Donna from Suits and the doc having a cat in his room dream that I went for a scan and was given bad news, it was awful especially as I was thinking that was definitely going to happen! But all was OK and I'm sure it will he for you too Smile

Found out last night another one of my good friends is pregnant with her second, how exciting! So that is my cousin in Sept, me and a friend in Oct, another friend in Nov and another in Dec! None of them living in the same country as me sadly Sad

Purpleball · 25/05/2015 09:39

Hurray for not being sick JC, hope you have a lovely birthday Smile

jellypi3 · 25/05/2015 09:45

aww bat that sucks that they aren't close by to you :( will you make lots of mummy friends at antenatal classes?

Hobbit19 · 25/05/2015 09:52

Batfish, maybe we can have a Viroids holiday to come and visit you, for purely selfless reasons in order to keep you company of course! Grin

jellypi3 · 25/05/2015 09:55

thanks for the reassurance folks on the dream, it was a bit scary when I woke up. Keeping my thoughts positive!!

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 10:09

Morning crew!

Happy bank holiday Monday! I'm working (boo) but it means I get to keep one of my A/L days for maternity that previously was going to be swallowed up.

It sounds like we might have another grads baby this week - who's going to be first out of cym, tee or before? How exciting! gives practise wave of pom poms

Arse rain def a good sign cym! our midwife was telling us about that the other day.

Honestly purple try not to worry about what books/other folk say to you. You will know your baby best and you will hopefully have people around you like your dm or the midwives to help if you get stuck :) I've heard the NCT bf line is very good, my friend rang them in tears once and they put her mind at ease and helped her to get back on track. We have bf cafes in our area - women can go there, have a coffee and chat with other mums and there's a midwife or someone else experienced on hand to help with any problems youre having bf. Perhaps just don't read the books if they are upsetting you. I've only read three pages of the LLL book so far. TBH I've got two days of bf workshops - one nct and one hospital, so I'll probably just wait to see what they are like.

We bought this mattress which is only £33 include postage www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0089A7EFC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 dh found it online.

pixie saw the photos of you and your dd at the fair - very cute and you look amazing!

We went for dinner last night - thai restaurant in town. It was lovely food but the service was disappointing. They just kept forgetting about our side of the restaurant and we were all getting fed up. Having worked for years in hospitality managing large luxury hotel/restaurant/bar I find poor service so lazy and frustrating - it's such an easy thing to get right, but in the town I live in just now it's very rare to find. It can totally put me off visiting a restaurant again.

I've got a new shed! I know this isn't exciting to anyone else, but our shed was totally run down and our stuff was getting damp. Our landlord is so nice and said no problem we'll just buy you a new one! He came and put it up yesterday and he's coming back to paint it today. DH spent yesterday sanding down a pine chest of drawers for the nursery. Bought it off eBay and it was covered in that yellow glaze stuff. DH has got that off and is going to stain it to match the cot.

dulcet you're going to be absolutely fine - I know it's utterly overwhelming sometimes but you WILL be fine! And who cares if the house is messy? It's not like the baby's going to care. S/he will just want cuddles and food!

I did wonder at the sensibility of someone moaning about our titles who is dealing with prostitutes and worms in RL. I actually PM'd her to give her some advice about worms (I had them loads when I was younger - yuck!). That's how nice us viroids are! Imagine though - the word 'erection' being offensive??? On a site about people having children????

The 'attention grabbing' accusation really smacks of jealous high school girls being bitchy about other girls. Its untrue and it's nasty. I reported the post to MNHQ to complain that we were being picked on and asked them to step in to stop it - I think that's why MNHQ posted something. Olivia is usually very nice about our threads, so hopefully she'll back us up again.

We were told at NCT that you're more likely to go into labour somewhere you feel safe/comfortable. Perhaps the garden centre is that place for you tee??? :) That's why so many women go into labour in bed at night.

gaggia I'd love it if you dropped the c bomb! I think though that the best thing to do is ignore it and hopefully they'll wither off back to their dull unimaginative lives.

My sil is all about Gina Ford and tried to tell me it was 'the best idea' right at the start when she got pregnant. But she's never been around babies - none of her friends have any, so I just smiled and said 'ok no problem' and I'm now waiting for her to pop to see if GF lasts even a day!

She and my dbro sent us a rainforest Fisher Price mobile. I love it!

I thought the 'show' could be bloody or not? we were told on saturday to look out for a ball of snot-like-stuff and it may or may not have blood in it.

jelly loving your in-laws! You can't beat an inappropriate pregnancy announcement reaction! I'd have loved it if you'd said something like 'No - I'd thought if we were doing bumsex too it cancelled it out'

I have the caboo fleur - once you've got the hang of it it's really comfy! I've heard from people that it is fine mostly to use in warmer weather as it's breathable, but that you just have to keep checking baby's temperature (you can kiss them or feel under their clothes to see if they are too hot). We learnt lots at NCT the other day about helping to thermoregulate babies using skin to skin contact - if they are too hot your body dissipates the heat, if too cold then you warm them up and also how to check temperature without thermometer. You need to just think about what you're wearing and make sure that your clothes are not inhibiting heat loss when needed i.e. a cool T-shirt or something would be good in hot weather.

Ask the grad grads about slings too - boo is like a stretchy wrap guru, she has loads of them. popz has a carrier, so does minion. pis uses a sling too so can probably help with some tips.

Hooray for lack of vomit candy! I remember having to go on a train to my dms in York with MS. Oh god it was awful, I don't envy you.

Unfortunately once eggs have cooled they are genearally not viable - don't feel badly though as it's all a learning curve for mum and dad birds, they will likely lay more and in a better location to prevent them falling out or being predated. Wild birds are clever things and are adaptable parents, just like we have to be :)

OOOOOOHHHH I love the idea of being an undercover police officer - did I have a cool hat? Oh...it just dawned on me that 'undercover' would mean no to that... Dammit. I like hats.

Pregnancy dreams are WEIRD! I've cheated on dh so many times in mine!

teejayem · 25/05/2015 10:17

We got a Caboo close too! It's Purple after doing lots of reading and comparing it seemed like the best wrap style with lumbar support (for me) and the least fiddly to tie up (for Mr tee) I got him to model it with one of my teddies over his dressing gown and I think it looks awesome, the fabric seems really high quality and not too heavy either.
I'm going back in the garden to finish planting today, I had 46 leftover plants and had to get more tubs and compost but then it rained when I got back yesterday so I stopped for the day. Other than that, bacon rolls and cream cakes are on my to do list :) might make a risotto later. Feel totally fine this morning, baby has his legs stretched so I've got little feet in my ribs, but in spite of both of us giving him a talking to and reminding him to get a wriggle on, nothing happening so far...Sad

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 10:27

Don't feel well at all today - really spaced out, dizzy, feel sick and like I've got no energy at all.

Got so much work to do, I need this feeling to go away!

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/05/2015 10:29

pud I can't believe your scan is in a week I remember when you got your bfp on the JS thread!

jelly so rude of your in-laws! Are they normally insensitive knobs or was it just a knee-jerk reaction (my sister who I get on well with also said the same thing out of shock; when I told her DH and I were engaged over two years ago she said "why?" Hmm ). Also I'm so sorry to say but I second the time going slowly thing. I'm 8 weeks today (yey) and got my bfp four weeks ago, feels like an absolute age and I can't believe it's not longer! So I'm fully expecting these next 4 weeks until the scan to go just as slowly.

jellypi3 · 25/05/2015 10:39

they aren't normally that bad looking they are normally just devoid of emotion, they were really happy after it was just their initial reaction that made me lol a bit!

la sorry you're not feeling too great :( can you go home and chill out?

Niffertiti · 25/05/2015 10:42

Jelly I've found the flip side of the weird dreams thing is waking up like a horny teenager. I've not felt this frisky for years...

Having terrified myself with orgasm-induced agony yesterday i might not be doing anything about it for a while but I'm going to carry on enjoying the wuuude dreams for now!

LaLaLaaaa · 25/05/2015 10:52

Hooray for scans! But yes the time does go ver....y.....sl...owwwww....lllly.... in first trimester unfortunately.

I'm working from home but having to totally make myself concentrate.
