Thought I'd start a new thread as the other one's about to run out.

I'm a mere 5mths late, but please can I join in?!

I'm 40 (yikes), due 5 March, have one DD (2.5) and a DH Don't know what flavour no.2 will be, but fairly convinced that it'll be another girl.

Planning on spending lots of time tomorrow morning reading through the (huge!) March thread while DD is at nursery

I'm very lucky with this pregnancy malarky - touch wood - felt fine all along just like last time, til the full-on emergency section under general anaesthetic that is! Hoping for a more positive birth experience this time

Looking forward to getting to know you all

harktheheraldfoxessing · 19/11/2006 21:41

Hi Amazonian woman - what a fab name!

I'm 43, so you're a young filly in comparison . We have a stats thread somewhere, so you can add yours too

Welcome!

Rosybumpily · 19/11/2006 21:41

Welcome amazonian! I'll be 40 by the time I pop! Good way to celebrate turning 40 I reckon!

msrlmoss · 19/11/2006 22:27

Hello amazonianwoman - love the name!!!

Rainbowgirl so to hear your dp's parents haven't even been in touch. Do you have friends around you to help out and to be a bit more positive?

kittywits · 19/11/2006 22:35

Hello Amazonianwoman, cool name

harktheheraldfoxessing · 20/11/2006 09:09

Kitty - BTW thanks for downloading that DVD - forgot to say that . Maybe it'll convince me to try a home birth!!

...or not, as the case may be..

AmieR · 20/11/2006 10:13

Happy Monday Morning everyone...

Spent the whole weekend doing nothing (well, I stuck a coat of paint on the ceiling with this wonderful contraption, was the bathroom ceiling so did majority of it sat on the toilet!) after falling sick to an evil cold. I hate having colds... you feel rough but there's no real way of shaking it off.

Being congested has meant less hours asleep so over the whole weekend I got 6 hours kip.. this was not helped by Husband taking me to see James Bond last night and buying me a litre of Diet Coke to drink between the hours of 8pm and half ten! 7 toilet trips last night! LOL I made sure I woke him everytime I went though!

Welcome Amazonian!

Makes me sad to read about your stories of Mother troubles. My Mum has been nothing but a star to me. I have the MIL issue! Still not forgiven her for e-mailing my Mum to ask if I'd been keeping up with the housework! grrr

I'm starting to feel a little nervous about Labour now, but trying to remain calm!

Rosybumpily · 20/11/2006 10:33

Leogaela, your hubby sounds fab. (Just aswell with twins on the way!) Did you train him or was he like that when you found him? If you have any tips I think a few of us will be ready with our notebook and pen
I need mine to move up from Cork really. Not sure how to make him though...he's trying to get me to move there! He arrived in the middle of the night and started warming up curry, that got the children up and he was feeding them spicy chicken at 5.30am. I dreamt he had a girlfriend down there and it was really upsetting... I told him that she had a really big nose and he said 'like yours?'
Amie Your man sounds a bit mad too, was the film good?
Piffle how are you???

muppetisacat · 20/11/2006 10:36

Welcome Amazonian - put yourself on our march stats thread - there's quite a lot of us now so it helps keep track of who's having what and when!

Foxy - we clearly both love our epidurals don't we! but has anyone tried the tens machine for the stronger half of contractions ie up to 10cm? Would love to know if any one found it helped at that point.

Rainbow - sorry to hear that about your dp's parents... once your ds is here they'll have some serious grovelling to do if they expect to just be welcomed into his life with open arms.

muppetisacat · 20/11/2006 10:38

Rosy - you just reminded me of my dream last night. I dreamt I had the baby early and it had the size and proportions of a barbie doll! This posed vast problems in finding baby grows to fit and with breastfeeding...

Rosybumpily · 20/11/2006 10:42

Can't bear tens. Tried it last time and couldn't tear it off quick enough! Some people finds it great don't know how, everyone is so different.
My mil is a dragon. She threw her shoe at me last visit

harktheheraldfoxessing · 20/11/2006 10:59

Rosy - thew her shoe at you? I'm !!

LOL at your last post though

I used TENS for as long as poss Muppet, but it gets to a certain point where it just don't do the job anymore! Its great for the first bit though and gives you a sense of control.

Rosy, did you just not like the tingly feeling?

Piffle and Diva - Hi hope your both doing OK

Amie - sorry you had such a rotten weekend

Love the dreams!! I'm still dreaming about my boss everynight. Nothing rude, but I keep cuddling him in the dreams (his partner is having tests for breast cancer). As I type he's standing a few feet away and I really feel the urge to give him a hug!!

Breath deep...and control myself

AmieR · 20/11/2006 11:05

LOL, Her shoe? did she take it off her foot and then hurl it at you?

How bizzare....

The film was pretty good. I'm a big Bond fan and was curious as how I'd cope with a blonde Bond.. I am still unsure!

I know you guys probably don't want to know this but this weekend was the first time that DH and I got jiggy wit it in 2 months! Myabe it was the Blonde Bond? LOL

muppetisacat · 20/11/2006 11:15

AmieR - you lucky devil - because I had a big bleed at 13 weeks, and my placenta is still low I have been warned off sex! I've had nothing since the beginning of September!!!

What's even weirder is to think it could actually be next April til anything happens cos I won't exactly be rushing into things straight after the birth!!!

24+2 (boy)

harktheheraldfoxessing · 20/11/2006 11:40

Last time we did it was 12 June LOL - the date of conception!!

I am too tired and have also had bleeds, so have to make do with my vivid hormonal dreams where anything warm and breathing is in danger of being ravished by me

muppetisacat · 20/11/2006 11:42

Foxy - you definatly win the prize for abstaining the longest

AmieR · 20/11/2006 11:55

Dreams are so scary/Horny during Pregnancy, I've had the darkest dreams and also the rudest ones over the last 6 months its crazy! must be the hormones (or Whoremoans!)

I'll spare you guys the details! LOL

Booboobedoo · 20/11/2006 12:17

Foxy: we haven't had sex since June either! Once MS kicked in that was it.

I'm feeling better now, so maybe soon...

There are a lot of problem mothers on this thread, aren't there? (I mean our mothers, obviously, not us: we're all perfect).

My Mum and I have a great relationship - went on holiday on our own last year - but she's very wary of 'treading on my toes', so sometimes won't offer support/advice when I really want it. Generally speaking, though, she's great.

My MIL on the other hand...

Oh, and welcome Amazonianwoman!

Oh, and re dreams, I dreamt on Saturday night that I pushed my poor DH out onto the street naked and locked the door.

I felt so terrible when I woke up I had to apologise to him.

He thinks I'm barmy.

OP posts:
amazonianwoman · 20/11/2006 13:42

Thanks all for being so welcoming

Glad I'm not the only one with horny dreams and feelings but no real inclination to do anything about either. We haven't had full-on sex since June either The new James Bond film could just do it for me, if I could stay awake long enough in the cinema!

AmieR - what's your wonderful contraption for painting ceilings??!! I need to do a couple of rooms but am avoiding them cos I hate painting ceilings, my neck always aches!

Have added my details to the stats

25wks (surprise)

kittywits · 20/11/2006 13:52

Hello all. I have no idea when I last had sex. I have no idea how I have so many children since I hardly have sex at all , there's something funny going on.

Rosy do expand on the shoe throwing episode........

lol at all your funny dreams, I'm too knackered to remember mine.

kittywits · 20/11/2006 13:53

LaidbackinAsia · 20/11/2006 16:10

Hello ...welcome Amazonian

Just returned from a days shopping too. Have bought some nice things for Christmas and some bits for DS1 who is 10 tomorrow (and some pain au chocolat for breakfast).

Fox... I run when I see him soming towards me with his tardis asking if I want to see his Dr Who cards

Interesting talk about mothers... I went through a rough patch with mine a few years ago, but we seem to have worked through it and are supportive to one another. The things that piss me off about her are probably the things I don't like about myself ..... as is often the way.

I am lucky sex wise... not even puking puts me off , so still doing it regularly .... No TV and monsoon rains are helping !

Hope everyone having a good day.

11/3 boy

rainbowgirl · 20/11/2006 16:59

welcome amazonian! nice to meet you

rainbowgirl · 20/11/2006 17:00

on the dream thing - i keep having dreams which then happen in real life - it was odd the other day actually, i had this vivid dream that my ex-dp (dd's dad) had given us headlice and i couldn't use the chemical lotion because i was pg.. then in the morning i was looking thru this thread and read eidsvold's post about headlice!! wierd!!
