Thought I'd start a new thread as the other one's about to run out.

OP posts:

Lunar - who want £52+ for what? For a Cybermask???

Eids - I'd lurve to see U2, you lucky so and so...

Just had two custard tarts for lunch

Rosybumpily · 09/11/2006 13:28

ooh I love custard tarts!
I just had chips from the chip van (slurp) and lots of green and blacks choccy (double slurp)
And I fed that rubbish to the kids for lunch aswell!
I'm a bad, bad lady.

kittywits · 09/11/2006 14:27

Cor, I'm lucky for getting one for kai's 7th birthday then, phew. Unfortunately ds1 wants one for xmas, well he's stuffed then isn't he.
Sorry, I haven't got the brain capacity to scan your lovely posts. I'm feeling shit and upset, tired and generally yuk. I wept all the way to school taday 'cos ds's were being lazy little sods and not helping me. Had a truely vile dream last night which involved losing various family members.
I'll come back when I feel more upbeat.

kittywits · 09/11/2006 14:29

Oh, many congrats on your little boy Boo, how lovely

LunarSea · 09/11/2006 14:32

I can get more cyberman mask/helmet things if anyone wants them - just shout this afternoon as I'll not be in this office again until next week, and they'll probably have gone by then. Looks like it'll be between £35 and £36 inc postage if anyone wants one.

onilly · 09/11/2006 15:23

hee-hee, you lot are nuts, but I guess I will be coveting a cyber mask thingy in due course !!

Boo - how fab.

Foxy - to answer question, we get six months full pay, three half pay, the rest statutory.

Thanks for your opinion - I think six months going back to work is too soon, and a year will be too long for me..so its good to hear Eight months instinctively feels good. I am wrangling a flexi-time approach, and will work from home for some of the week.
Hopefully by then all the crappy projects will have passed
DH is desperate for me to stay at home, but I am not sure......
Oh - they arrested my "stalker" and turns out police were right - he was the bloke that put a brick through my window, so is a thief too! They got him through another car burgularly seems he was dirty calling several others as well. When arrested he was found with urg... my filofax, wallet, blackberry, so he had pretty much all my details and appointments. I feel sorry for him. He is 18 with bad drug problem. Poor kid.

I am so tired today, could curl up into little ball under my desk and sleep.....

Anyone else really really tired ?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 09/11/2006 16:25

Onilly - that's a really good maternity package! Do you work in the public or private sector (sorry, you did tell me ages ago but can't remember). You've got ages to decide whether you go back, so you can just decide how you feel nearer the time can't you?

Glad they cought that creepo and also glad it wasn't just you he was focussing on.

I do flexi hours and I have agreed it for half my team too (inlcudng those without kids, but who just live miles away). Have you seen Prima Baby page 101?

Kitty - I thought you were a bit quiet today. You probably need a good nights sleep and for something nice to happen (like DP coming home laden with chocolate). I get really cross with DH but my DS/DD are still too young for me to expect much from them apart from mischief. DS blatantly ignors everything I say though

I was in a good mood today, for the first time in about 12 weeks. Very wierd . Maybe the hormonal depression is lifting at last.

mmm - still have another custard tart in the fridge which needs eating

flannelettepyjamas · 09/11/2006 16:47

Hi all,
Hope you're all well and blooming!
We arrived back in the UK on Sunday after a Living Hell of a flight with my 17 month old DD ( and by myself - don't so it unless you REALLY have to!). Luckily my Mum is on hand and has kindly been having DD in her room overnight and getting up with her during her poor little scrambled jet-lagged sleep. I've really felt knocked sideways by the flight this time which I normally take in my stride - mostly I think due to the toddler-travel rather than pregnancy. But we're getting there.
My it's a bit cold!!
We arrived on 5th November to fireworks going off everywhere - I'm sure DD was wondering what the heck was going on.
On the subject of work, I'm not planning on going back til the next LO is about 18 months as then I can work closer to home ( long story but until Oct 2008 I am obliged to work in a rural area - at least 1 hour from home). I've been doing this commute for the past 3 months and although it's on;y 2 days a week, I've found it a bit far. So I thought I'd wait til I can work closer. Personally I found that 1 year would have been too soon to go back and that 15 months was about right for me. Everyone's different I guess. I had fully planned to go back at 6 months before DD was born, expecting to be bored by then. Much to my surprise I wasn't at all bored. We'll see this time I guess.

evenhope · 09/11/2006 18:34

onilly, I've been really tired this last week or so. I meant to mention it to the mw but forgot. I've been going to bed at 9pm or I just fall asleep in front of the TV. It's getting quite annoying, especially as I then wake up over and over again. Last night I'd woken up 3 times by 2.30 am when DH finally dragged himself up to bed (waking me yet again). I never feel like I've actually been to sleep.

The mw didn't bat an eyelid about putting 1st April down on my MATB1. That gives me 26 weeks on full pay plus 13 weeks on SMP. With Annual Leave I should be able to hold off going back to work until January, but still looking at full time

TheBlonde · 09/11/2006 19:13

just a quick hi & a reminder for everyone to do their pelvic floor exercises

harktheheraldfoxessing · 09/11/2006 19:25

Flannelette - its really cold isn't it? (bbrrrrrrrrr)

Evenhope - that sounds like a good package too I'm really exhausted as well. I get about 8.5 hours sleep and ust can't function as I'm still so tired all day - walk around like a zombie

TheBlonde - thanks for that reminder - I still haven't done any pelvic floors

TheBlonde · 09/11/2006 19:55

Get squeezing!

I went to see a "women's health" physio today and found I have not been doing them correctly

kittywits · 09/11/2006 20:01

how do you do them correctly then? What were you doing wrong?Do tell.

Eva1977 · 09/11/2006 20:01

Boo - congrats on the boy! Welcome to the club!

Evenhope - you got me thinking again if I should try getting my die date changed. From the stats thread I can see that your real due date is two days after mine. So if your mw was ok with it, it might be worth a try. It's very tempting as 6 months paid leave is a big difference to 6 months. For me the big downside to it would be that I would have to return to work for 8 days in January before I'd be able to start my leave. Plan was to have last day at work last day of term before Xmas and never go back... have to have a think and chat to dh!

everybody complaining about tiredness - I'm exactly the same. Usually fall asleep around 9, get up at 6.30 and feel like I have had 2 hours sleep max. Oscar the dog's also been v annoying, craving lots of attention and exercise when all I want to do is sleep.

Sometimes I wonder how I am going to cope with a young, naughty and far too energetic dog AND the baby. I know there are several others here who have got dogs - how did you find it?

nearly weekend!!!

Eva1977 · 09/11/2006 20:03

very interested to know as well, TheBlonde!!

divastrop · 09/11/2006 20:06

hello all.

congrats on your boy booboo

rainbow-sorry to hear you are still having a bad time of it.i have posted on your thread.

well ive had dd2 at the doctors twice today, cos the first one didnt even check her temperature even though i told him it was 39.4 last night
she is still not well, they think its just that the chest infection is viral and shes just going to have to fight it off on her own.

i hardly got any sleep last night so managed to get up over an hour late, then had a crappy morning with lazy kids who would rather stare at the tv than get dressed and get their breakfast

the HA phoned after they visited and said do we want to move in on monday?!how are we supposed to pack and book a removal firm(who will only charge £50)in that length of time???

hope everyone is ok.

22+1

divastrop · 09/11/2006 20:10

i have probably been doing my pelvic floors wrong for the past 4 years and thats why i still pee myself

i was in waterstones today and they had cybermasks in there.

kittywits · 09/11/2006 20:30

Have you checked out the " I think I've eaten my hamster" thread ?

TheBlonde · 09/11/2006 21:00

Not sure if I can describe it correctly but when I lift and squeeze I also tense my tummy/diaphragm

See if you can breathe in and out normally while holding your squeeze, apparently then you are doing it right

divastrop · 09/11/2006 21:09

oh thats me f*d then i havent got tummy or pelvic floor muscles.im going to get steralised then have a fanny tuck after this baby.

kittywits · 09/11/2006 22:17

Yeah I'd like one of those, sew me up nice and tight (sigh)

Piffle · 10/11/2006 09:34

Hi everyone
Made it home yesterday, hate hospitals, canot sleep so came home
Am still in a lot of pain, feel like dung. But glad to be home.
FWIW the 20 wks scan went fab baby AB FAB (no gender known ho hum)
I woke up at 2am tuesday with abdo pain, though it was indigestion even though had never had it before.
Went to hospital 50 miles away for scan as under genetics consultant.
He had a look and said could see no baby related reason for pain and to ring midwife assesment at my local hosp - which we passed on way home.
Did and she said ooops could be appendicitis duck, get yourself to the hospital.
6 hrs later I was one appendix less.
Traumatic moments --->
Decent pain relief options in pregnancy are PANTS (for good reason I'm sure)
Having to sign consent forms with 25% risk of miscarriage
Being in ward next to mad old lady who snored like a truck charging up the M1 and raided my drawers in middle of the night.
Anyway upshot, I'm home, baby seems to be fine, was checked and heartbeat fast and strong. Moving loads which I guess is good thing. Does not always feel great though

Hope all else is fine with everyone
Off to bed now
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Jayglebellsjayglebells · 10/11/2006 09:38

Morning all, feeling much better today after two quite good nights of sleep, and by that i mean i only wokeup/gotup twice !! DD has slept through from 7 -7 three nights in a row, i think she knew i needed to have some quaity sleep!

Wow lots of boys from what i can gather, congrats boo on you finding out, it sort of gives you an added injection of excitedness doesnt it! I have booked a 3D scan for the 10 Dec, i will be 27 odd weeks then and aparently the ideal time. Going to take my Mum and Sis along so they can have a nosey too! Will hopefully see if my low lying placenta has moved, fingers crossed.

Going to venture out this afternoon with a friend of mine. We both used to work for Boots 9 head office in Nottingham) and they periodically have massively discounted sales. Friend used to work for the boots baby, and the sale today is all baby gear! Hoping to find a double buggy of sorts, if not then def some bargins of some description.

Hope everyone is ok, i might not be able to retain all the info you lot post but i do try and read up on whats been posted. Hugs to all xx

23wks today
boy

Jayglebellsjayglebells · 10/11/2006 09:40

ooo xposts piffle, welcome home you poor thing. I cant imagine having appendicitus in pregnacy. I had it ( and it removed) when i was about 12, it was pure agony and i was sooo ill with it, so i really feel for you what with the added pressure of the baby too. Glad to hear that the baby is ok and more importantly you are, go get some rest and make the most of it!

Rosybumpily · 10/11/2006 10:07

Piffle, great to have you back and I am so pleased to hear everything is fine. 25% risk of miscarriage that must have been AWFUL.

Jay I feel really jealous of your lo sleeping 7-7 and Fox at 8.5 hours sleep
I am a wreckage from lack of sleep. I'm getting obsessed!!

Diva! are you going to try and move Monday?? Really exciting and nightmarish all at the same time!
