Muppet - I'm really sorry to hear the outcome for Alfie, we'll e thinking of you all this evening

Lunar - you really do need to get some legal advice now, before they screw you over . Something similar happened to another mumsnetter and she took her emploeyers to court and got mega compansation. They are flouting the law and disriminating against you, by building a spurious case to dismiss you because you're PG. That is illegal. Please get some legal advice. Do you ant to ave a chat with the other munsneter if I put you in touch?

Hi everyone else, too to respond to the other chat!!! Poor Lunar

os just remembered - Rosy its in the post at last.

Laidback did you send your letter recorded delivery? The PO tried to deliver something today but I was out. Now we have to wait till Monday to discover what it was!

blinks I just called a customer, as a delivery guy called up to ensure they needed to collect payment from the customer. The background is they've not ordered for ages and put a big order in, always a bit suspect, so told driver to call in if any problems, I asked if the driver wanted me to talk to them, he put the customer on and when I asked if we could have payment for the delivery, I was told to Fu ck off!

Muppet, so so sorry about Alfie. No consolation, but at least you can know you are releasing him from pain. Bastard driver deserves some serious bad karma. I'll be thinking of you this evening. Keep welling up and I've got to go to a meeting in a minute, so will stop now. Love Callie x

Dolly, sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well. Its crap isn't it when work takes so much energy that all you can do otherwise is sleep. You have to remember that your first priority when pregnant is your health, no one at work realises that you crash into bed as soon as you get home and no one will thank you for it.

Lunar, that is absolutely outrageous!!!! I am sure maternity rules and laws override anything in your contract that says you should travel when an airline refuses to insure you. I think if they fire you or you are forced to leave you would have a very good case to sue them Xmas Angry. I also don't get why they are moving your job offshore when you aren't leaving. You are going on maternity leave and are entitled to come back to the same job afterwards.

Anyone notice anything different about me !

Lunar - I echo what the others have said, get some advice. They are taking the mick

Question for you all...

  • when should you expect to get braxton hicks? (this is my 2nd pg)
Report
kittyschristmascrackers · 08/12/2006 19:27

TheBlonde, you could be getting them now. I've had them for a while now. I only tend to get them if I've over exerted myself though.

What do Braxton Hicks feel like then? I assume it's too early for me to get them (24+3) but I'd like to know what they are when they do come, iyswim?

Mossletoe they are like when when your tummy goes tight and hard and then relaxes again. You can feel the tightenings coming on, but they are usually painless at this stage.

It could be them or it could be your tummy muscles being strained a bit.

hi.

muppet-sorry to hear about alfie

well i ended up taking dd2 to the docs again yesterday cos she was really sleepy and had laboured breathing.he sent me to the hospital with her to be assessed in the childrens ward, and they ended up keeping her in overnight.luckily she was well enought o go home this morning but it was bloody scary.all the doctors and nurses remembered her from last year.

poor dd1-its her birthday today and yet again i wasnt here to see her open her presents(last year i was still in hospital after having dd2).
i now have two 8 year olds.

lunar-i havent worked in years (paid work, that is)and i had no idea pregnant women still got treated that way in this day and age.i thought most companies knew about employment laws these days.

im very tired after trying to sleep in a fold-down bed on a 4 bed kids ward.i kept waking up wondering where i was and i missed dp like mad..im not used to being away from him.

i was meant to have a mw appt this morning which i had to cancel.i went to see the doc this afternoon as i need to get a refferal letter written to my consultant about getting steralised, and i really need it before next thursday.it wasnt my usual gp,it was a man,and he said that getting pg again so quickly after dd2 was very bad for my health.i said that getting pregnant at any time was clearly bad for my health which is why i dont want it to happen again..arent doctors great?!

26+2(girl)

Diva, poor you and your dd? It's scary when they have to go to hospital. Dd1 had to spend a week there just after dd was born. Did they say what was wrong with her. Had her chest infection not cleared up?

Muppet sorry to hear about your cat, hopw you are all dealing with it as best you can

Report
divastrop · 08/12/2006 21:00

her chest infection had got worse and she was wheezy(sp?) so they wanted to keep her overnight and see if inhalers helped but she perked up alot when she got there and they didnt need to give her anything.

it wasnt as scary as when she was 11days old and grey and floppy and i couldnt wake her.brough back alot of memeories ,im just so glad she ok now.the consultant wants to see her in 3 months so they can investigate why the colds keep going to her chest so easily.

We've got snow !

I'm on my own here with ds this morning, he wouldn't come upstairs with me while I take my shower so, I have left him downstairs all on his own , just wondering how long he will last before he starts rattling on the stairgate and shouting mummmmmy... or completely destroying the place of course, hmm, I hear kitchen cupboard doors banging!!!

....ok, back later!

leomincepiesandbrandybutter · 09/12/2006 11:47

thinking of you Diva, I can't imagine how you feel with dd2 in hospital . What medication has she been on for the wheeziness? Is it bronchitis?

Report
leomincepiesandbrandybutter · 09/12/2006 11:48

Diva, I'm interested in what the consultant says about the colds going to her chest.

dolly, am fine-bump keep me awake all night kicking and parties most of the day too- am thinking baby will never sleep when he/she is here!
lunar-really hope you are keeping notes-just write down everything as far back as you remember, and keep a notebook now. you should see a doctor and a lawyer at once! an empyment lawyer will be delighted to see you, i promise what a christmas bonus!

mum is coming, and good old trains were cancelled so now she is transversing the country to get here, borrowing mobiles -she is 73- apparently a "young lady" is looking after her. am pleased, as lots of yobbos will scare her. although she once told an armed robber to clear off, as he ought be be ashamed of himself ! must go as she also works undercover for housework police

rainbow girl, hope you ok?
