Felt we might need a new thread to get through the night feeds and labours!

Oooh RL im furious for you! Has he slunk back home yet? What goes through the minds of these men that allows them to think behaviour like this is acceptable?! You must be exhausted, hope you have managed to get some sleep.

RL20 · 02/05/2015 05:12

Nope no OH yet. Absolutely seething

mswibble · 02/05/2015 05:15

Oh you poor thing. Have you managed any sleep whatsoever?

RL20 · 02/05/2015 05:20

I've had about an hour and a half I think as I put DS in the middle of the bed propped up as he wouldn't settle in his basket. Just fed again so if he goes back to sleep I'll try and get another half an hour or so if I can.
Can't believe he's gone AWOL when his son is only 10/11 days old. I feel so disappointed Sad

RL20 · 02/05/2015 05:21

I feel like my story ought to be on Jeremy Kyle or something - but were not even that sort of couple! Which hurts the most.

PenguinPoser · 02/05/2015 05:32

Oh RL Sad I'm so Angry for you! I know I don't know your oh or anything but exactly he has a baby now and needs to be responsible. You don't need this to deal with on top of being up with baby as well. Brew
Is he out locally to you? Just wondering if he's sleeping on a friends floor or something and obv doesn't have his phone. Must say I've never fancied a big night out after a funeral! You look after yourself and your ds and take yourself off to your mums later if you can for some looking after.

And yes the Facebook group is very much alive! Join then you can see all our baby pics (and further queries, rants etc that don't make it onto here!). It's a secret group so won't show up on your news feed. Have just had a look and I don't know how to add people unless I'm friends with them Confused
Don't mind adding you temporarily if you wanted to pm me your real name and what profile pic looks like. Could add to group then unfriend again Smile
There are some people who can add you another way if anyone's around??

Oh my goodness RL how horrid! You are coping so well... Make sure when he finally arrived home he knows exactly why he's in the wrong!

Up for a feed an hour earlier than usual here... mainly because we went to sleep an hour earlier... I know I shouldn't complain as I've just had 4 hours sleep with only a 10min wake up and resettle on the middle, but I'm so tired!! DD only sleeps for one 3-4 hour block in the day and it's always when we're out/have visitors do not fitting in any rest/naps. Booooo... good job she's so cute!!! Wink

RL20 · 02/05/2015 06:47

I think I have sent you a message Penguin.

He's not long crawled in. I had too much to say to even say anything, I didn't know where to start. He had a job lined up today that he has had to go and do with his uncle who has picked him up. Not sure his uncle is going to want to work with him when he realises what state he is in.
I'm so angry that he's lost his phone. It has a pass code on so not much can be done with it but that's not the point. I don't know what state you have to get it to not know what you've done with your phone as I'm always so careful with mine. Have tried to ring it since and no one is answering at the minute.

I need to get out of this foul mood as all being well my grandad is meeting DS for the first time today. He hasn't been very well so didn't come over last week - he normally visits my mums every Saturday as he doesn't live in the same town as us.

Hope everyone else had a restful night. Brew

BrixtonBunny · 02/05/2015 07:13

RL that sounds utterly wretched. Your DP sounds like he's being a prize idiot (for want of stronger language). That behaviour would never be acceptable, let alone fewer than two weeks after you've given birth!! All I can say is he's lucky he's not my partner, you sound much more patient. You're right though to try and enjoy your day and not let him ruin it, have a lovely time with your grandad and your mum, maybe pop over to your mums a bit early with max so she can look after him whilst you sleep? Take care, you must be feeling exhausted beyond words.

Yesterday DD cluster fed non stop for over SIX hours, between 4pm-10.30pm, going from one boob to the next and shouting if she was taken off for more than five mins. Was feeling pretty knackered but she then slept for five hours straight!!! Woke up at 3:30 feeling amazed. She's had a couple more feeds since then but has fallen asleep after each one. A worthwhile trade off IMO.

My best friend was round for supper last night so she kept me company through the feeds and cooked for us all whilst DP was in bed with a stonking migraine. She's a hero.

Was discharged by midwife finally yesterday on day 19 as DD had jaundice. Little chunk has put on a whole pound! Very pleased.

We're to try and tackle Tate Modern with friends today (mad on a Saturday?) and my sister should be popping round this morning. No plans tomorrow though, hurrah!

Hope everyone is doing well xx

brummagem · 02/05/2015 07:17

Kate finally in labour! Meanwhile still nothing here. Just for a change.
40+4

FizzyBubbly · 02/05/2015 07:20

Morning all! Just a quick post to say DD2 arrived at 1:34am weighing in at 8lb 3oz!

A positive birth experience this time (will put on postnatal thread at some point) still in hospital but expect to be discharged this afternoon. Then the fun really begins! Grin

daholster · 02/05/2015 07:40

wine that sounds amazing...

RL OMG!!! AGAIN!!! Flowers

Meant to post that at 12.30am but fell asleep before I was able to press send...

daholster · 02/05/2015 08:07

Congrats fizzy!!! Sounds like she might get a silver penny too...

Feeding, forgot the muslin for other boob so getting a wet sticky belly. Hmm

RL you need to find out why he thinks this sort of behaviour is OK, I can't believe he did it again. Is he just lying when he says he won't be late or just doesn't have the balls to say no to his friends?! If the latter then he needs to man up. A pile of apologies and "it won't happen again honest" isn't enough in my opinion, he needs to be honest with you about why he does it to convince you that he is not just a prize selfish arse Angry Flowers I'm impressed you are keeping a lid on it. Don't let it ruin your time with grandad. It sounds like you have a lovely family and that will not change. Brew

Party today. Dh felt so ill last night I think from sheer exhaustion that I ordered him to lie down and go to bed. I stayed up til the midnight feed then joined him {couldn't see the point in disturbing him if not necessary). We thought we'd get up with ds's 7am feed and tidy while dd slept since she slept til between 9 and 10 last 3 days.

Today she woke at 06.40 and despite trying hard couldn't go back to sleep! So up with her at 7 instead! Ho hum. Just makea tidying more difficult...

On which note I'd better burp this baby and go and help dh (we had to swap when ds woke up so now I'm in bed and he's with dd... Shame there is too much yo do for me to stay here!!!

Ohhhh ds is screaming his head off... Confused

Congratulations fizzy!

Daholster good luck with the party, I'm sure everyone will have a brilliant time. Try not to exhaust yourself before it starts with cleaning! I'm sure no one will judge you if your home isn't spotless - you have a newborn and a toddler, I think you're a hero! Wink

PenguinPoser · 02/05/2015 09:05

Congratulations fizzybubbly!! I was wondering if we would have any babies getting a silver penny- you could be!

Lauren82000 · 02/05/2015 09:16

For those of you using reusable breast pads where did you get then from?

I'm still struggling with disposables and the Lansinoh ones are making me itch/prickle after about 20mins of wearing. My nipples are so sore to the touch because of them irritating me plus the regular feeding isn't helping. Confused they seem to be fine until I start leaking a bit but I can't change them every 20mins or I'll spend a fortune!

FiRaffe · 02/05/2015 09:34

Sorry for the quick post but wanted to say I was thinking of you RL as your OH's behaviour is unacceptable. Hope you have a lovely day with your family anyway!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/05/2015 10:19

Congratulations FizzyBubbly!!!

Had heard that brummagem, don't really know why I'm excited as im totally anti royal but babies are always lovely!

So sorry he didn't come home until this morning RL20. Hope you haven't calmed down too much by the time he gets home as he needs a bloody good talking to! If he wants to stay out all night at this stage it takes the mick even if prearranged but to not let you know where he is is outrageous!

Yay for that lb and being discharged BrixtonBunny!

Good luck with party daholster, ours is 12-2, with 8 8 year olds and my two!

Lauren82000 · 02/05/2015 10:41

Penguin do you not get one if you were born on the queens birthday too? I'm sure someone told me that. If so there are quite a few of us that had babies on the 21stSmile

Just managed to make DDs swimming lesson on time. So now enjoying a hot chocolate and eating a brownie my mum gave me. Baby is covered in crumbsBlush

Wineandchoccy · 02/05/2015 11:08

Congratulations fizzy enjoy the newborn cuddles and hopefully a silver penny!

If anybody wants a silver penny did you know you can buy them from the royal mint they are £30 and in a presentation box that says new baby.

I hope you have managed some sleep RL and I hope your DS has saved a dirty nappy for oh to change.

I hope your DS has a lovely birthday party cinnamon and your dd enjoys her sandpit and party daholster

Lauren I have not used them but they had reusable breast pads in mothercare. I am using johnsons disposable ones at the moment and they are the best ones that I have tried, they stick really well and don't itch unlike the superdrug, Morrisons and tescos ones that I have tried.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend everyone, we are off to Blackpool to walk along the promenade and have fish and chips.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 02/05/2015 11:19

Congratulations fizzy... and a royal baby buddy too!

Lauren82000 · 02/05/2015 11:42

Oh no Wine it's raining in blackpool I hope you brought a coat! Shock It's not too windy though so not as cold as it could be.

Wineandchoccy · 02/05/2015 11:51

Lauren do you live in Blackpool? We are 40 mins away and it's raining here as well but want to get out of the house and escape from weekend visitors. We have the rain cover for the pram and lots of layers for dd. Dd decided she wants a feed before we set off so I'm watching the royal baby news.
