Come put your feet up in the Zen den and let the dh's wait on us hand and foot whilst we nurture the fruit of their loins in our bellies :-)

Aw that's a difficult situation about calling a boy after your FIL Mummy, I can see why your dp wants to have it but...personally I wouldn't want to call our dc after a relative either but maybe as a middle name.

I also never realised how complicated it would be to change your dc surname if you got married Chops Confused My mum and dad never married and I was given my mums surname but then I never met my dad until I was 21 so it would have been weird having his name all through my life!

wotsits1 · 13/05/2015 18:20

Thanks mummy

wotsits, 35, pregnant with dc#2, 1mc, 3 cycles ttc, Cheshire, BFP on 29th April, bfp at 12dpo, booking in on 22nd may, 1st scan on 3rd June, edd 8th Jan 16.

wotsits1 · 13/05/2015 18:22

I think dd will want to find out if its a boy or girl. As far as names go... if its a boy I'm sorted. If its a girl.... not so much. I adore dds first and middle names and will struggle to think of another girls name. What a nice struggle to have though!!

Mummyofonesofar · 13/05/2015 19:22

chops there used to be all kinds of weird rules but it would just be a deed poll name change these days. To change DS's surname to match DP's either my ex would have to agree and if he didn't I could push it through the courts but would struggle to prove it is in DS's best interests to change his name. Or adoption which ex would have to agree to or push through courts and it might be in his best interests due to feeling part of the family and all having the same surname if we marry. All very complicated!

chopsface · 13/05/2015 20:44

My sis was preg with dd1 10 years ago and that's what she was told about the adoption thingy if she gave her her name only. Maybe things have changed. She had only been with the father 3 months when she got preg so there was no guarantee the relationship was gonna work! But 10 years later, and dd2 they are still together and married. Phew! He was a keeper! She was one of those weird people who got preg on the pill!

Oh these hormones!!! The ANGER!!! A colleague (male, obvs) has just royally bugged me over something that would ordinarily not bother me. I feel like punching him in the face and/or bursting in to tears!! AAARGGGH!!!

chopsface · 14/05/2015 14:53

For those ladies not on FB I had my early scan today and there is a real life bean in my tummy! Measuring 8+4 which is bang on my dates and we saw a heartbeat which was amazing and a little tear leaked out of my right eye on to the pillow! All a bit crazy!

I'm dreading going back to work on Monday after a 2 week break. Feeling ill quite a lot of the day and need to eat hourly!

Mummyofonesofar · 14/05/2015 15:46

chops I loved your scan picture! Will you announce your pregnancy soon at work etc?

wotsits oh no! Maybe hide in the toilet til you calm down !

chopsface · 14/05/2015 16:35

mummy I'll still only be 9 weeks when I go back to work on Monday. Still a few more weeks until my 12 week scan. If I ever get an appointment through Confused

Mummyofonesofar · 14/05/2015 17:46

I didn't know whether you felt ok to announce or if you were more comfortable at 12 weeks. I couldn't keep quiet and loads of people know already Blush

What an awful sicky day in with DS. Too ill to eat, play, watch tv or chat. Just cuddles though which are lovely. Nervous of catching his bug and not knowing of morning sickness is kicking in or just the virus! Was great to be able to nap today as that all DS has wanted to do.

Purplecuddlykoala14 · 14/05/2015 20:21

Glad the scan went well chops
I kept meaning to ask is there a grads FB page? Can someone add me please.
I was thinking of not finding out the sex, but with a January due date think of all the stuff I can pick up in the sales......

Thanks chops I have accepted you.

dojo123 · 15/05/2015 11:12

Hello sorry I've been absent the last few days. Busy with work but also haven't been feeling great. Feeling better today which I'm glad about.

Right, a bit to catch up on but firstly
purple yay congrats on the bfp. How are you doing?

DH and I have decided not to find out the sex of our little chip. We're both looking forward to the surprise.

I've got to nip into a meeting but I'll be back later to update my stats etc.

dojo123 · 15/05/2015 11:32

Just been up a ladder on a building site for work. I was happy with the safety but now wondering how long I'll be able to do that for. Confused

chopsface · 15/05/2015 11:59

FFS! Just got a call from the midwife 'hub' saying my appointment is Monday! This only came after leaving them an answer phone message yesterday wondering where it was! Had to phone work to tell them I won't be in until lunch time now! After having 2 weeks off! One hour and a half including taking blood and wee! Lol. I will be 9+1

OP posts:
Mummyofonesofar · 15/05/2015 13:06

chops finally! An hour and a half is a bit long though!! Mine is an hour long a week from Monday. Don't worry about work!

dojo I would do it until a bump stops me. Our garage has a ladder to the loft of it where we store drinks, not particularly safe but it's alright Grin

dojo123 · 15/05/2015 14:44

chops great news about the apt, frustrating that you needed to chase.
I still haven't had to do any urine or bloods. That will all be done at my scan.

mummy. Glad you said that. I'm still happy to climb ladders until a bump restricts me.

Off to Cornwall later to tell both sets of parents this weekend. So what have I just done?... That's right... Peed on a stick. Haha, still checking at 10wks.

Oh right my #####stats#####

tessiegirl · 15/05/2015 15:05

Hello everyone

Ugh been on the phone to what feels like half of the UK this morning trying to sort out my 12 week scan date. I think we are going to have it done privately as it will just make things easier. Hoping to get it all sorted tonight when dh comes home Confused

Ah Dojo you made me smile poas at 10 weeks! I haven't done a test since my 8 week scan but keep feeling as though I want to check!! Hope you have a lovely time in Cornwall! How are you planning to announce the news?!

Chops great that you have your appointment! I would say mine lasted about an hour and half...so much to go through and then trying to get blood out of me took a while Hmm

Mummy hope your ds is feeling better today, bless him

tessiegirl · 15/05/2015 15:07

Yay for jeans wotsits and Purple!! Smile

HeirToTheIronThrone · 15/05/2015 17:31

Don't worry Dojo, I was still POAS last week!

I made my 16 week midwife appointment today. Finally feels like time is moving!! Although it isn't going fast enough, and I've had the worst nausea I've had in weeks today. I am meant to be making DH a curry but am on the sofa under a blanket instead...

In other cheerful news, I ordered this today, for being a bridesmaid in the summer.
