Im glad Im not the only geek....I have been glued to Battlestar Gallactica for the first 2 series! Good escapism!

Hattie2 · 11/11/2006 22:39

UD - PMSL at your suggestion that Daisy should chew on a hamster

theUrbanDryad · 12/11/2006 09:38

oonagh - haven't you seen the third season?

you're in for a treat - it's SO GOOD!!!

laughalot · 12/11/2006 11:22

Hee Hee you lot are crazy eating hamsters, and sleeping in a shed , well I just live in my boring old semi. Well had my hair done yesterday and iv had it all chopped off dh will wonder what has happened when he gets home tonight from his weekend away.

Dragonhart · 12/11/2006 12:10

When did the 3rd series come out Urban. Loved the first two but havent seen any ads for the third. Thats the trouble with sky plus, you miss all the ads for things!

theUrbanDryad · 12/11/2006 12:35

it's not out in this country yet - it's showing in the US and we've been downloading it from sci-fi (possibly illegally, i'm not sure!!) and watching it on the laptop.

OonaghBhuna · 12/11/2006 12:41

UD- HAve to wait until it comes out on Sky one, which I think will be in the New Year so I will probably have to tape it all and watch it next summer!!!!!!!! Glad to hear its good! I watch Lost aswell and the third series has just started on RTE which is just as enthralling as the first two series. Im not a tv addict its all good escapism!!!

theUrbanDryad · 12/11/2006 12:54

our tv isn't connected to an aerial so we can't get tv programs on it, but that means we don't have to pay a lisence, so YAY.

just been extolling the virtues of lidl on the chat thread....I LOVE LIDL lalala!!!!

think i may have a touch of pregnancy madness!!!

annieapple7 · 12/11/2006 21:38

Thanks for the welcome 2 happy and dragonhart...I have 2 DS (4 and 2). Smiled wryly at the posts about DH's lack of interest in growing bump. I'm 29 weeks and have so far avoided screaming "I am 7 months pregnant!!" in indignation at his failure to make allowances for my condition. But then whenever I have put his hand on my bump when the baby is moving, baby immediately stops. Everytime. Anyone else have this?
I suppose the lack of interest could be construed as supreme confidence in our ability to produce a child. [hmmm]

annieapple7 · 12/11/2006 21:39

Oh no my sceptical face emoticon failed to appear. Try again.

We spend many evenings watching my bump wiggling away, it seems to be getting more and more active on a daily basis!

magnolia1 · 13/11/2006 09:49

Hi Ladies
No I haven't had him yet and tbh have had an awful week
Welcome newbies and sorry everyone that I have been a bit quiet, just a lot to take in.

Saw consultant and had another scan on Thursday. Placenta is still completely in the way and in a bit of a bad position for a c section. SO....They have booked me in for a section on 7th December BUT........ Want me to have a GA and not a spinal/epidural. This means Dh can't be with me and they explained they want it this way coz it's a high risk c section and don't want me awake or Dh in the room as it's likely to get messy
So now I have just over 3 weeks of bloody shitting myself!!!!!! Dh is also worried and I want to dissapear for 3 weeks
Spd is bloody agony so it's hard to keep busy and take my mind off things. Physio can't do anything. The belt doesn't help and I just can't do 4 kids and 2 dogs on crutches

Anyway rant over.

LadyTophamHatt · 13/11/2006 11:37

Oh christ!
magnolia, i'm not surprised you're scared...that sounds bloody awful.

Blimey, I'm nervous for you.

Have they said why it will be difficult/messy(apart from the placenta being in the way)?? How will they do it then??
Bloody hell...talk about put the fear of god in you!

laughalot · 13/11/2006 12:22

Gosh magnolia that is alot to take in hunny I guess we take these natural births for granted, just think though you will have your little bundle of joy for xmas. Loads of hugs and kisses for you though mag xxxxxx

Hope everyone else is feeling ok im fine just getting bigger and bigger and bigger

magnolia1 · 13/11/2006 12:26

Its not at the front but not completely at the back so still in the way even for a c section. Basically means it could get puntured by the scalpel and likely to Heamorrage, She said if this happens then possible hysterectomy and quite rough handling to stop bleeding so It would be better if Dh wasn't in room and I was asleep
I know she was giving me worst case scenario but FFS I have to wait over 3 weeks for all this. I just wish they could have left i ill later to tell me so I had less time to wotty.

magnolia1 · 13/11/2006 12:27

ok last sentence should say 'left it till later so I would have less time to worry'

Magnolia, my heart goes out to you, I hope you have lots of support at home. Thinking of you x

elliepmummy · 13/11/2006 19:51

aaaargh my dd is driving me mad and wont stay in bed the last few weeks she has been creeping into our bed around 2am but last night she was in at 10pm and I was so tired couldnt be bothered to put her back. DH tends to move out hen she arrives and sleeps in her bed but tonight she wont even go to sleep in her bed (normally put her up 6.30-7ish and she settles herself) now DH sitting up there with her which defeats the point of her settling herself. Tried to explain to him that we need to get her sleeping in her bed all night as I cant be dealing with her and doing the night feeds in our room but he says well at least this way we all get some sleep (well he does I have dd kicking me and rolling around all night!) I am going to scream soon sorry rant over x

Dragonhart · 13/11/2006 20:13

Gosh Magnolia, sounds very scary. Im scared of just a normal section but that all sounds terrifying. Hope all goes well though.

ellip, my sympathy is with you. Along with his teething probs we decided to put DS in his new room as we needed to do it soon so he is settled before the baby comes. Thought that as we were getting up for teething, might as well get him used to the new room. Perhaps in hinsight I would say that was a big mistake and we are suffering from lack of sleep now!!

2Happy · 13/11/2006 20:18

Bloody hell, magnolia . I don't know what to say. What a prospect for you, and that's hellish enough without the SPD and everything. And I'm sure it seems a long time to sit and worry, but wow - the first of us popping in just 3 weeks! Thinking of you, anyway.
I think my gum-soothing vibes for DH's ds backfired somewhat - instead of him feeling better I seem to have made mine unwell! He's dribbling enough to wash us away and has totally stopped eating . I just want to work mummy-magic and make him feel better. Boo.

Daisypops · 14/11/2006 12:05

Ohhh Magnolia, I don't know what to say. Must be an awful time for you. Hopefully you can forget all about it when you have your perfick little bubba in your arms. Thinking of you. x

theUrbanDryad · 14/11/2006 12:22

magnolia...good to hear from you again...i must admit i was getting a tad worried! but you're ok, well as ok as can be expected anyway! i can't even imagine how hard it must be for you...especially with the other 4 lo's.

have you heard anything from first? i am STILL waiting for payment from them i know it's not exactly going to be top of your priorities but i was just wondering...

anyway we're back home now after our weekend of fun in surrey been sleeping a lot better since i got back in my own bed...had mad nesting urges yesterday, did three loads of washing (unheard of for me!!!) and cleaned the whole bathroom and hoovered and everything. and dh didn't notice a thing and soaked the bathroom floor when he had a bath last night hormonal ol' me had a right old rant at him! he wiped the floor though, so objective achieved!! hehe....

Daisypops · 14/11/2006 12:53

Hey Urban, does your Miriam book say anything about pins and needles in your hands? Mine are getting more frequent.
