Is anyone else having twingey womb pains? I'm concerned because mine are all on one side and a bit uncomfortable today...

mrsscarlettbutler · 19/03/2015 15:11

Afternoon all. I've been trying to stick to the NHS list as well, but am still not 100% clear on the cold meats thing... I love chorizo so am hoping well cooked is ok?!

Went back to EPU this morning as was really starting to panic about the bleeding, even though the last time it happened was yesterday morning. I was all ready for work and about to set off and suddenly was so anxious and just had to know what was going on. Luckily DH hadnt set off either so he came with me.

Pleased to say that all is ok! PHEW. Bean has grown as it should since last week and the heartbeat is strong. They had a good look around with the camera (internal so pleasant as you can imagine. She did a lot of rummaging) and they couldnt see any reason for the bleeding, which means I am still a little anxious at it happening again. 7 + 1 today (measuring 7 +3 apparently) so trying to relax as I'm sure I read that seeing a heartbeat at this stage reduces the risk a lot.

Thanks for all the good wishes and I hope everyone else with bleeding/having scans in the next few days has good news as well.

mrsscarlettbutler · 19/03/2015 15:14

Also - LemonDrizzle I have definitley had twinges - when we went to EPU last week I was sort of thinking it might be ectopic because the pain was very much on my left side and quite painful at times.
When they scanned me the sonographer said 'There's too much gas, I can't see your left ovary.' So that explained that. Blush

BleachedBarnet · 19/03/2015 15:16

Great news mrsscarlett!

Gosh this thread moves fast doesn't it! Went to see my GP finally today and she's referred me to the midwife for 'booking in'. I was a little surprised that she just took my word that I was pregnant? I had assumed she would have tested me.

Blueblink you could try 'giving up booze for Lent' or say you're on antibiotics? I've now used both and I did get a few raised eyebrows, as well as annoying people saying 'ooh what if you're just lying and you're up the duff!', but on the whole I was left alone.

NotSpartacus · 19/03/2015 15:23

Lemondrizzle, I have one sided twinges and backache, which can get quite sore. I know I ovulated on the same side, so think it must be the corpus luteum which is causing the discomfort. They're not actively painful though (eg more than a period pain) and I think if they were and I hadn't already been scanned I would go get checked out. I do remember the twinges as standard from previous pregnancies.

BowiesJumper · 19/03/2015 15:31

I was also having fairly uncomfortable twinges (as well as the spotting) which made me worry about ectopic. But the scan yesterday shows it's all in the right place! The doctor said it was just the womb stretching so nothing to worry about.

I'm still spotting, but just trying to carry on and not worry about it now. What will be will be!

Mrsscarlett so glad you had another good scan! I hear ya on the "rummaging"!! It's when they push it up towards the ceiling that got me.

Glad other people are having twinges, I've been getting them and was a bit worried

TwoBeesInTheHive · 19/03/2015 16:25

twinges here too, and pretty sensitive and sore to touch. think t
it's more noticeable / worse this time because I had an emcs last time.

Crumbelina · 19/03/2015 16:51

Bleached my GP was the same, no pregnancy test. The midwife didn't ask for one at the booking in appointment either.

Blueblink I tried the Lent excuse with some friends and I don't think it worked at all. Mainly because they know I'm a lush. Maybe say you've got a cracking hangover from the night before? My friends would probably believe that more.

I find dinner with friend really difficult as you really do have to say why you're not drinking. I'm off to a 40th birthday in a pub on Saturday and I think it'll be a whole lot easier to sneak to the bar alone, order a Beck's Blue and ask the barman to pour it into a glass. Can you tell I've put a lot of thought into this? Smile

Oh, and someone mentioned Beck's Blue up-thread. I really wasn't expecting much but it's pretty good! Erdinger alcohol free is quite nice (although you can clearly taste that it's non-alcoholic, unlike Becks Blue). Has anyone tried Cobra non-alcoholic? Unless I had a dodgy bottle, it smells and tastes exactly like Heinz tomato soup!

Annbag, I never want to see another dildo cam! They were a regular thing at my fertility clinic.

cryingbabymess · 19/03/2015 16:57

I've just had a thought might try and have mocktails when I'm out on Saturday! Crumbelina I'm out for a 40th on Saturday too....!

Crumbelina · 19/03/2015 17:19

I had a £5 virgin Mojito the other week (before the nausea) and it made me miss alcohol even more (lush)! Blush Pricey for no booze in it as well!

BowiesJumper · 19/03/2015 17:39

I was going to say, you'd want a bit of rum and vodka in it for that price!

I've never drunk all that much but two friends did guess I was pregnant when I didn't drink at all on a weekend away a couple of weeks ago. I'm usually on the rum! I've been trying not to have too much diet coke either so I couldn't even pretend I was having rum and coke - I was on the rock 'n' roll orange squash or lemonade!

mrscatmad31 · 19/03/2015 17:54

I normally drink a lot so have been drinking tonic so it looks like a gin and tonic :-) wish pubs sold alcohol free wine though

cryingbabymess · 19/03/2015 18:04

I would love alcohol free wine! I really don't know what I'm going to do on Saturday! She's going to click when I say I'm on "antibiotics" because she noticed today I've stopped smoking and that we're trying for a baby.

BowiesJumper · 19/03/2015 18:16

Well you're not meant to drink whilst ttc so just say that to her maybe?

cryingbabymess · 19/03/2015 18:18

Bowies I was drinking with her only 5 days ago! Confused The day after I POAS!

roughtyping · 19/03/2015 18:26

I miss rum already Blush DH had just bought me a big bottle of Morgan's and I can't have it now! Hmph Wink worth it I guess Grin

Crumbelina · 19/03/2015 18:36

Ha ha Rough! This is going to sound soooo middle class but I bought a case of Fortnum and Mason's Prosecco a week before the bfp and now I can't touch the stuff! Sad

I kept doing things during the 20 months of TTC to tempt fate - buying lots of nice booze, booking a holiday to India, applying for a new job ...

I don't mind not drinking! I only have a few every so often but it just so happens these next few weeks I've about 5 nights out before I can tell anyone - bloody typical Blush

AmandaMae · 19/03/2015 19:14

I'm with you buttermilly. I am on Cyclizine and Metoclopromide and they are jointly keeping most of it at bay. I have still been sick though. If it gets worse, I think I will have to go back and ask for ondansetron. Good to hear it's doing the trick for you. I couldn't cope without something. The N and V were knocking the stuffing out of me. I wept at the thought of another 12 weeks of it...

CoffeeTwo · 19/03/2015 19:17

Evening all

Glad to hear your scans went well rough and mrsscarlett!

Hope everything is ok Ree Flowers

Such and scary but exciting time!

Lilliana · 19/03/2015 19:37

DH is currently eating Parma ham and Brie Envy

So glad we've had a few good scans. Fx for everyone else - esp those who are worried.

I see a few others are bridesmaids so hope you have some advice! We're going dress shopping this weekend but only 5 weeks so really don't want to tell anyone yet. I'm the only bridesmaid but how do I get a suitable dress without telling anyone ?! I'll be 5 months at the wedding. Help!
