Urg, just been properly sick for the first time after eating a fruit salad. FINE. My body is telling me to go back to crisps and biscuits - that is what I shall do. Mama, my PMA seems to have disappeared. Wink

Stace, really hope you're ok - it's good that the bleeding has stopped.

Congrats WishyWashy - it's a lovely feeling.

Mamama31 · 24/03/2015 19:30

Stace and takestwo, hoping the bleeding stops completely, take it easy and rest up.

Crumbelina get the crisps and bickies in to you and your PMA shall return!!!! ;)

ShortLashes · 24/03/2015 19:44

Crumbelina, thanks for your reassurance before about the nausea dying down. It seems to have come back again now! Your violent reaction to a fruit salad made me chuckle (though it's not really funny, of course Smile).

Halestone, I love that you thought your DH had got the baby's sex wrong! Saggy bum cheeks vs. scrotum is something I shall be on the look out for on delivery!

Focus, like your philosophy of committing to water and veggies on a daily basis as if it's a one-off. Today is a write-off so I shall be trying this out tomorrow!

Re. vitamins, I'm just taking separate folic acid tablets and vit D. They are both tiny. What else do Pregnacare etc. have in them?

I had a letter from the hospital today and was hoping it would be my scan appointment, but it was an invitation to take part in a study about reducing risks of pre-eclampsia through diet! I'm 8 weeks now. Do you think I'll have a booking-in appointment and scan at the same time? So far I've just seen my GP once.

cryingbabymess · 24/03/2015 20:07

So ladies I've felt great all day but now the nausea is kicking in! I need to shower before bed too. Help!

pennygirl26 · 24/03/2015 20:10

anyone got any pains in their ribs?

ch1134 · 24/03/2015 20:17

About diet and vitamins. Last time I just took folic acid til 12 weeks then switched to cheap version of pregnancy vitamins from wilko/savers. So far am doing the same this time.
But last time I was so fit and healthy and ate so well. This time I am going for it with the chocolate and crisps. .. and no exercise. I feel bad about that.
I'm in an awkward situation at work, taking on extra responsibility while my boss is on mat leave. She's due back soon and wants to be part time so they've asked me to be full time with the promotion. Aside from not wanting to screw them over, I don't think I'd want to come back to full time after mat leave with 2 under-3's. So if I say no my boss will be offered full time or nothing and may lose her job!

halestone · 24/03/2015 20:55

Ch could you explain the situation and ask for a job share it sounds as though your current boss is in the same boat as you. It may be the perfect solution for you all. The company doesn't need to train anyone else for the role and you and the boss could share the job between you.

StaceThanks i hope your ok, sorry you have to wait till friday for a scan. Has the bleeding settled?

OP posts:
ch1134 · 24/03/2015 21:07

Thanks halestone. I've discussed it with my boss and we would both like a jobshare, but work doesn't agree. They would never put me first so I think it's probably best to keep things quiet for now. My contract is variable hours and I don't trust them not to put my hours down when they find out... plus it's very early days.

stace1986 · 24/03/2015 21:09

thanks ladies.

Halestone the bleeding has stopped now so just a waiting game til friday. They did say if it gets worse I could go in earlier possibly. Trying to stay positive :/

NewMrsX · 24/03/2015 21:14

Your post really cheered me up Crumbelina that's just what I needed to hear, thank you

I don't think dh understands because he's not seeing me being physically sick. Tbh I didn't understand either until it happened to me

Hi sasha, I hope you have a smooth and healthy pregnancy. My edd is 29/11, just before yours!

Fitnotfatthistime · 24/03/2015 23:21

Stace and takes two - fingers crossed for you both xx

Hi Sasha -fingers crossed for you too xx

I'm taking pregnacare vitamins.
I don't know if I want to find out this time. I didn't know for DD1, did for DD2. Would quite like a surprise :) I'm secretly scared of boys though, only as I'm used to girls.

Went and taught my fitness classes tonight for the first time since my gastroenteritis bug! I felt rough! Was seeing stars, felt sick :( it's likely the effects of the gastro bug plus pregnancy. I'm quite upset at how it went.

Struggling to eat, don't fancy anything at all. Forced a protein shake down 45mins ago and am in bed heaving now. 5+3! Oh what a way to go yet

ninjabeer · 25/03/2015 07:47

Morning ladies how are we all today? Hope everyone is feeling well and has a good day today. thinking of everyone who is having a difficult time.

We are at 6 weeks today, picked up my pregnancy pack for the doctors yesterday . My goodness so much advertising. it has put me right off reading all the information. I can feel my inner hippy earth mother rearing up. I didn't know I had one!

woke up feeling sick today Sad am now curled up on the sofa nursing a glass of water. the ms is definitely setting in for me. 5+3 today. so early! Shock hope this doesn't mean it's going to be worse and last longer Sad

Dixiebell · 25/03/2015 08:53

Have concluded my nausea is definitely MS after denying it since Sunday. Urgh. New experience for me as didn't have it last two times. Feel v tired too. Could do with a week in bed! Have ginger biscuits in my work bag. Giveaway?! Yesterday for lunch I had 2 cold sausages and a bowl of porridge. Only things I fancied. Pregnant, moi?! :)

Focusfocus · 25/03/2015 09:09

For all those with nausea and sickness, I've had it off and on, luckily, but the things which have helped me are -

  1. Very very thinly sliced ginger, doused in plenty of lime or lemon juice and sea-salt. I prepare it at night and it soaks all night by my bed and is ready for the next day. The salt, the citrus and the ginger all really help.
  1. A glass of very cold milk if you're trying to get something in.
  1. A glass of cold sparkling water with a splash of elderflower cordial. Really helps.
  1. Make on advance - pea and mint soup with plenty of mint. Store in fridge and have cold with shredded ham.

Numbers 1 and 3 have helped the most.

Mamama31 · 25/03/2015 09:43

Morning ladies. I'm feeling good and making the most of that while it lasts. Also did another preggo test this morning, just to make sure haha! Nice strong pink line came up instantly....so nice to see :) can't wait to do my digi on sat!!

Focus thanks for sharing your tips to help with MS. I've no doubt it's going to hit me soon, so I will def be trying those out. I hope you are feeling well.

I think I'm addicted to peppermint tea....finding it so refreshing and nice even at this time. I used to have the odd cup in the afternoon/eve time but soon as I get in to work I make one! That's probably what's helped my bloating as it's totally gone now and was horrendous last week.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Those feeling unwell, rest up and have a duvet day x

LadyStark · 25/03/2015 09:46

Hi all

I too have pretty awful nausea but no actual sickness yet so that is something to be thankful for. I am 8+1 today so hoping that it will start to disappear in the coming weeks, best thing I have found is crackers - sea salt and black pepper - and a cold capri sun or ribena, it gets me through my commute every morning!

I don't see my GP until next Thursday, hope they manage to refer me for my scan in good time, amazed some of you have managed to get in the system so early. My docs must be especially busy, I do live in babysville (Surrey).

It is my birthday today, how does one celebrate without champagne? It's all down to the Cake, isn't it?

Happy Birthday LadystarkThanks

Hope the ms leaves everyone soon. I am feeling fortunate this time as i literally feel nauseaus then vomit then feel instantly better. It scares my Dd when i vomit so i'm glad its not as bad as last time. Although HG only kicked in at 8 weeks last time so i'm now 8+2. I have to get through the next week before i feel safe.

Happy birthday BrewCake

I've got a really rotten cold and MS and first trimester insomnia. Have stuck DS in the high chair in front of Cbeebies and am on the bed feeling sorry for myself.

Got notification of my booking in appointment on 14th April. I really hope I have my 12 week scan by the 10th May. With DS I put the scan picture in my DGF's 91st birthday card. He'll be 94 in May and I'd love to do that again.Smile

Lauramum23 · 25/03/2015 10:02
