Glad to see you back Focus, and feeling a bit better. Ditto with the 8 weeks, saturday for me. Seeing the MW next Monday.

BowiesJumper · 24/03/2015 15:04

I'm 8wks on Saturday too. Is that when it officially becomes a fetus then? Exciting times.

CishAndFips · 24/03/2015 15:12

Welcome back focus glad to hear your feeling a bit better. I will be 8 weeks on tue (made a bit of a mistake calculating at the begining) im counting down the days.

Mamama31 · 24/03/2015 15:20

Oh I wish I was 8 wks!!! Only 5 this Thursday and even that can't come soon enough!!!!

Focus hello, glad to hear your feeling a bit better.

TwoBeesInTheHive · 24/03/2015 15:34

me too Mamama I'm 5+2. 8 weeks seems so far away! I'm determined to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy though and refuse to wish it away!

Crumbelina · 24/03/2015 15:41

Welcome back Focus! Lovely to hear from you.

I'm wishing every second of this first trimester away and am going to relish my pregnancy when I'm 12 weeks 1 day onwards and automatically start to glow, have clear skin, lustrous hair and a small, perfect little bump.

Ahem.

Lauramum23 · 24/03/2015 16:16

I'm glad it was good news takes twoSmile

I'm so looking forward to the 12 week mark now especially after last month, my next stage to get to is 8 weeks I think I might feel better after that.

BowiesJumper · 24/03/2015 16:23

Haha, yes, when I hit 12wks and get a positive scan, THEN I will enjoy things.

Focusfocus · 24/03/2015 16:31

Thanks all! Yep, I am totally not getting the earth mama-glow thing stuff. Just managing day to day.

Have got myself some good things to read. One of them is Susan Piver's the mindful way through pregnancy. Tiny little book with some very useful breathing exercises. Also downloaded the Natal Hypnotherapy people's pregnancy track, maggie howell it is I think. Really helps me drift off or bond with belly at a time when fears, tensions, all sorts of things are around!

Wish time would go quickly towards the scan. What's everyone.s scan dates? Mine is 24th April at which point mum and dad have been authorised to tell the clan of uncles and aunts (well, baby's grand uncles and grand aunts!).

Taking it a day at a time. A simple sentence I have found somewhere in my reads is - today I will eat colourful fruit and veg and today I will drink lots of cool, clean water. No pressures about a habit. Just today. Finding it very focusing.

mrswishywashy · 24/03/2015 16:39

Today I saw my bbs heart beat. All looked good. Am now signed off from fertility clinic and will join the nhs pregnancy process. Midwife appointment next Thursday. I'm seven weeks three days and hoping that I can keep anxiety at bay until the next scan.

halestone · 24/03/2015 16:45

Brilliant news MisswishywashyGrin Thanks

Focus i'm glad you've found out was causing the tiredness. Onwards and upwards from here. Thanks

BowiesJumper · 24/03/2015 16:51

ooo mrswishy how exciting! Congratulations.

Pyjama · 24/03/2015 17:31

Oh my word. Growing a person is exhausting! I feel tired when standing even though I'm usually on my feet most of the day, and laptop bag feels so heavy to carry. I've had to slow everything down just so I can last all day! I'm just relieved that sickness hasn't appeared yet at 6+3... Famous last words! A tiny bit of nausea occasionally, It will probably kick in over the Easter break when I have 2 weeks off work!
It's nice to be able to "chat" with other people in the same boat since only a small number of people know irl. There are 2 people at work pregnant (about 13 & 18 weeks) and I really want to properly join in conversations and ask them things. Smile

ch1134 · 24/03/2015 17:44

Are you a teacher pyjama?
Regarding scans ad finding out gender... I didn't last time and won't this time. Also not one for gender stereotyping here!
However, I could guess from the 20 week picture...
No symptoms at all here but very early days. Last time I got off very lightly, no sickness, just exhaustion!

stickytoffeegirl · 24/03/2015 17:52

Pyjama that's exactly what I keep saying! Who knew it would be so tiring? Looking forward to this burst of energy that's supposed to kick in after 12 weeks [hmmm]

We're going to let the sex be a surprise but I've always imagined I'd have boys (and twins) Don't really care what it is just excited to be having a baby!

Stroan · 24/03/2015 18:07

Wow, this thread moves fast! Hope everyone's had a good day.

I haven't updated in ages as the tiredness meant I couldn't summon the energy to think about it. Feeling much less tired now but much more nauseous!

We're not finding out the sex - I love surprises but almost always guess what's happening so I see this as life's biggest and best surprise!

Anyone else got pregnant friends and struggling to listen to all the pregnancy chat?! I saw a friend on Sunday who talked at me for 6 hours about her pregnancy - obviously not knowing I'm also pregnant. Lots of very opinionated stuff that sort of criticised how I want to do things and it was so hard! Just kept nodding.

roughtyping · 24/03/2015 18:12

Have my booking in appointment tomorrow Smile think DH is excited!

ashboo76 · 24/03/2015 18:24

Stroan I hear your pain I don't want to be one if those people who only talk about pregnant and babies so partly don't want to tell certain group of friends as I may vomit on them and blame the MS Grin

Mamama31 · 24/03/2015 18:25

Twobees I feel the same about enjoying every minute, i've waited so long for this I am determined to make the most of this pregnancy. But I do look forward to being a bit further on when I will have some reassurance :)

Mrswishy wow! That's amazing, how lovely for you!!

Crumbelina! Haha! Loving your PMA for the glow, good hair and neat bump! I guess that's what we would all like, but I'll take what I get! Lol

Mamama31 · 24/03/2015 18:27

Roughtyping that is so exciting for you both! My DH can barely contain his excitement at the moment so I can only imagine what he's going to be like....i'm not usually soppy...but it's kind of cute :)

mrscatmad31 · 24/03/2015 18:28

Had my booking in appointment today, took my blood pressure and blood and urine samples, next appointment will be in 4 weeks for my scan all being well! still don't believe this is actually happening, keep thinking I've got it wrong somehow, lol!

stace1986 · 24/03/2015 18:33

I have had some bleeding today. :( spoke to my GP and have an appt at the EPU on friday... I am not sure I can cope waiting until friday :( trying not to stress as the bleeding has all but stopped. I hit 6 weeks today too.

Lilliana · 24/03/2015 18:38

We're keeping it a surprise until baby is born. we did with DD too so most of our newborn stuff is neutral.

Kind of hoping for a girl just because it will be cheaper! In reality I don't mind but they will be wearing lots of DD clothes whichever sex they are!!!

So glad you have some positive news takes two and fx all goes well

TakesTwoToTango · 24/03/2015 18:43

Congratulations mrswishywashy that's a fantastic milestone!

stace big hugs. If you cannot wait until Friday is a private scan an option.? They are normally about £100 I think, though you may find places are reluctant to scan you before 7 weeks, it might be worth a try if you are desperate?

My bleeding has slowed right down. I didn't have any pain with it except (TMI alerts!) when I had a bit of an upset tum. I also got pain during and for about an hour after the internal scan last night. Apparently the scan detected that I was having contractions, but I think (hope) that they were caused by the scan process. No more pain (or bleeding except on wiping) today so far, fingers and toes crossed!

ashboo76 · 24/03/2015 18:53

That's great news takestwo I hope your off work and resting fx all is ok now xx
