Not enjoyed joys of nausea yet I read so etching the other day about fresh air and exercise helping. I'm 5 weeks and first baby I'm 39 and so excited but it's not real yet only found out with a positive test on Friday after one negative test. Ringing docs tomo. Only had bad period pain a couple of hours a day since wed and a lot of peeing Confused

Mamama31 · 22/03/2015 09:59

Hi ladies, it's so early for me but I'd love to join as it's so hard when no one knows and your dying to talk about it!

I got my bfp on Thursday past, that was 2 weeks since conception but from date of last period that would make me 4 weeks (and 3 days lol not counting at all!!! Haha) isn't that how it works??

I am 33, DH 35. I have one DS from a previous relationship aged 14!!!! (big age gap but he will be delighted). We were ttc for 19 months and on the waiting list for IVF so we are just ecstatic this has happened (finally!) for us naturally. It has felt like forever and now we are just so desperate that it all works out.

Symptoms at the moment are very sore boobs, since Wed (the day before I found out, just thought usual pre af sore bbs). And some sinus/nose issues with a severely irritating left nostril itch that can not be eased! Quite bad bloating every time I eat something (scares me as can be sore sometimes) and terrible insomnia thur and fri night but thankfully had a great sleep last night (still woke early but that's ok).

I look forward to chatting to you all and can not wait for the Weeks to pass! I'm sure you are all feeling the same.

Mamama31 · 22/03/2015 10:00

Sorry that was really long and still managed to leave my EDD out lol its 29th Nov.

BowiesJumper · 22/03/2015 10:17

Welcome Mama! So lovely that you've conceived after all that time. I have a friend with a beautiful 10wk old who conceived naturally just before starting ivf.

Oo we're getting towards the end of Nov with the due dates now!

Crumbelina · 22/03/2015 10:35

Morning all and welcome Mama! It look 20 long months for us and so the bfp was a massive shock! It's such a lovely feeling to cross over from the infertility to the pregnancy section.

Shortlashes, I wouldn't worry too much about the loss of nausea. Mine started to ease off a bit towards the end of 7 weeks (same time I had the first scan, which was fine) and it's much better now at 9 weeks. I've been a bit worried, but advice on this thread and others has reassured me.

Crying, I think nausea relief is different for everyone but I found that sipping cold Lucozade really helped. The sickness bands (Boots) seems to take the edge of it too. Boiled sweets as well.

Crumbelina · 22/03/2015 10:54

Oops, posted too soon!

Rough I've had some very vivid dreams as well! I had one a couple of night ago where I was breast feeding my baby. But my "baby" was actually a ginger cat. Confused Still makes me shudder a bit!

Managed to survive the 40th birthday last night but it was hard! Not so much the drinking (had some bottles of Bitburger Drive - pretty nice!), but the fact that everyone was tipsy/drunk and so loud, the music got louder, I couldn't sit down and was wearing heels, felt uncomfortable etc. I've got old overnight!

It wasn't helped by the fact that the birthday boy had lots of photos being projected all night, many of which included me at parties, drinking Champers, in fancy dress ... having a bloody good time really. I felt so nostalgic, like my youth had disappeared. I really do need to get over myself, I've waited ages for a bfp and in the past couple of years I've much preferred the sofa and a big glass of red at the weekend. Blush

Right, off to Oxford Street today to get some Topshop maternity jeans and some new bras. Hurrah! I've never looked at maternity clothes so it'll be interesting to see what's out there ...

halestone · 22/03/2015 11:02

Vivid dreams here too, quite alot that are of a sexual nature as wellBlush i do remember that from my last pregnancy as well though.

Feeling abit nostaligic today, as it was 3 years ago today that i got my BFP with my Dd. Its mad thinking how much my life has changed in those 3 years Grin

I'm going for a meal tonight with my sisters and i'm telling them Grin

Underesthermate how are you feeling today?

Glad everyone had nice nights last night.

Congratulations to everyone who has got their BFPs.

Thank you for the kind welcome ladies, it's all so exciting!!!

Crumbelina it's nice to have a fellow long timer ttc, it's just so unbelievable and overwhelming. DH and I just keep smiling in to the air at nothing, and saying "I still can't believe it" hopefully we get less weird as the weeks pass lol

Let me know how topshop is for mat clothes. My problem is that I'm bloated often so all my trousers/jeans are so tight and uncomfortable and it's much too soon for mat clothes for me. Might need to shop for a size up....funny how that would usually depress me but is so totally fine now lol

ashboo76 · 22/03/2015 11:41

I wouldn't say it's a bump hun more a big bloating wobble looks like I've let myself go a bit Grinso don't be jealous... Think all my friends will be like Oo she's put on a bit til I can say different

Crumbelina · 22/03/2015 11:42

Mama, it's a shameful how I've gone from being elated to moaning about pregnancy nausea, bloating, non-drinking etc. I never thought I'd be that person! Blush

Will let you know how I get on. It's not so much that I have a bump, I just look fat and my jeans won't do up! I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed - there isn't much on the high street and I think it's more trial and error of online ordering (which I don't really like). I think I'll end up living in maternity jeans, vest tops and maxi dresses ...

I'm living in comfy joggers today, got such a sore stomach but I'm thinking that's down to wind! Blush I'm still feeling sick. Having a digestive seems to help but I can't do that every half hour! It would defo not be a baby bump preventing me from getting into my work clothes

TheTravellingLemon · 22/03/2015 11:59

I found H&M good for the first 7 or so months followed by Next for the huge final stages. H&M jeans were great until I got massive, then I swapped to over the bump ones.

roughtyping · 22/03/2015 12:00

I bought a lovely maternity top from h&m - stripy with ruched sides. Sooo comfy. they seem good for maternity stuff.

Last time I was wearing normal jeans but up 2 sizes the day before I had DS. Think I had 1 maternity top and that was it!

Mamama31 · 22/03/2015 12:05

Crumbelina I am determined to take all of the symptoms in my stride given what we have been through however I am aware that could all change very fast lol I did have quite severe ms with my DS to the point I could keep nothing down, so I am just waiting for that to hit! But so hoping it doesn't and that I'm lucky this time with a little bit of nausea.

I like New Look maternity stuff they have some nice tops and jeans, and not too expensive. Also Next is quite good, must check out asos though and H&M. Too early now...but so excited to get fatter lol

pennygirl26 · 22/03/2015 13:05

how is everyone getting on with telling people? i told my sister and her girlfriend last night at a wedding as they kept trying to give me drinks. they are so excited Grin Grin going up to see my parents now..

I bought some maternity jeans from Mothercare yesterday - wasn't planning to but they were less than half price in the sale. I want to wear them now they are so comfy :)

TwoBeesInTheHive · 22/03/2015 13:22

telling people has been a bit of a mixed bag for us really. keeping it quiet from most til the scan at 12 weeks but have told most family now and a couple of close friends. dh's family were a mixture of 'are you insane' to 'knew it wouldn't be long' and mainly happy for us. my sister was so excited when I told her. my parents have made it very clear they aren't happy about it and think it was a stupid decision so now we aren't really speaking. well me and my mum are but not as much and its awkward. and my dad has yet to say a word to me since my mum told him. but whatever, I'm not going to let it get to me. It's none of their business, it's our decision how many children we have.

in other happier news, 5 weeks today yay!! Grin

Pyjama · 22/03/2015 13:37

Hi everyone, I'm currently 6 weeks with our first, due 14th November. Very excited, only told our mums so far. We have a private scan booked next weekend, so we may tell a few other people if that goes well. Has anyone had a scan at 7 weeks? What should we expect to see? Thanks in advance Smile

We've told my parents, one set of grandparents and my best friend. Will tell my sisters tonight but thats it till after 12 weeks i think. I have only told my family as we saw the heartbeat on the last scan.

We had a scan at 7 weeks but it was a NHS one and that just looked like a blob with a flicker inside.

Twobees, that really sucks... I'm not sure how I'd react to that kind of response. Not talking seems especially extreme! It's your thing and you're happy, I don't know why people, even family , think they've the right to make you feel bad when you're making something so amazing
