you mite be rite guess ill just have to see how it goes am getting a bit anxious bout the whole thing now, i still cant beleve im going to be a mum !!!

youngmum21 · 10/11/2006 16:44

lol i think they just say every thing so you cant turn round and say well i tried resting and it didnt work but when i did this it seemed to get a bit better!!!

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 16:46

schmizaj, I was saying about this the other day. It is like when you are trying for a baby, everytime your period is due you convince yourself that you have every pregnancy symptom on the planet!

I don't know about getting a feeling of when it will happen though, I was induced last time so didn't get any signs at all, this time I have had 'pre-labour' signs for 4 weeks now and still no baby. I think it will just happen when it happens TBH!

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 16:50

going to go and lie down dont feel well at all, been sick now

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 16:54

I hope this is it for you Debbsy, and if not, that it passes as quickly as it started, take it easy.

I guess babies not coming into the world when we plan for them to is just starters for when they continue not to do the things that we would like them to as they grow up!!

velcrobott · 10/11/2006 18:00

Just saw that Charlee had her baby (see announcements)!
Congrats

Nothing much but BH here but I am more tired than I have ever been (and am not doing anything!).... DH says it's a sign body is getting ready ... I believe him... hoping LOL

saralou100 · 10/11/2006 18:01

nj, i was incredibly ungrateful to her last time... considering she's in london and has to face a 2 hour drive to get here! when she arrived last time i told her off for taking so long... her excuse, something about blizzards and lots of snow (ds born in feb, it was snowing very badly!)

HappyCatandIzzy · 10/11/2006 19:43

Hi all.
Congratulations Charlee!
For all those looking for first signs of labour, I didn't have any. I spent first couple of hours of contractions thinking it couldn't be the real thing so I didn't even bother waking DH to tell him. Hope things kick off for you all soon.

Well, I think I'm slowly adjusting to being a mum. Not sure how I'll cope when DH goes back to work as he is doing so much for me. I feel loads better now I'm not as tired. Nobody told me I could get haemarroids from giving birth though, and this has been a painful surprise!

Sending positive labour vibes to you all

HappyCatandIzzy · 10/11/2006 19:44

Oh, by the way, it's HopingCat. I changed my name.

Calmriver · 10/11/2006 20:20

Hi guys, don't mean to gatecrash, but I have my CS booked for Dec 1st and they will probably deliver on the 24th Nov, so i may end up on your postnatal thread!Good luck!

Hattie05 · 10/11/2006 21:38

Welcome calmriver

If you're booked for the 1st, why are they bringing it forward?

I'm BORED too of being pg! i'm finding it hard to plan anything - meeting with friends etc because i'm hoping i'll be too busy with a newborn, which is silly and really i should go and plan loads of things then baby is definitely going to make an appearance when least prepared! alternatively my time will fly by rather than feeling so bored.

Whats with the stomach hardening? I don't remember feeling this first time round, but i frequently get a rock hard stomach really quite a surreal feeling. Is that a braxton hicks contraction? Its not painful at all and i know many people don't feel these.

Mummy2Toby · 10/11/2006 21:54

Hi all - congrats to any births that I have missed (although I don't think I have!) Well just a quicky to let you all know that things are going well here - Freya is doing really well and is already 7lbs 1oz I thought all babies lost weight at first but not my little guzzler! I am still mix feeding, so the mix of breast and bottle must be doing her good. On a really positive note, I fed her at 11:00pm last night and we all went to bed, she then woke at 4:00am but didn't really want a feed, just a cuddle, so I put her back down and she didn't wake until 6:30am this morning - so nearly an unbroken nights sleep I can't believe that. DS is 2 on Tuesday and I don't know where the last 2 years have gone so I am determined to remember every little thing as Freya is going to be my last baby Take Care all & I hope that all those still waiting get to hold their lo's very soon.

DebbsyandBibby · 10/11/2006 22:15

still the same v uncomfy, pains in tummy but not in a sequence lots of pressure in bum and still feeling sicky and tired.Going to bed now to try and sleep.Nanite

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 23:58

Mygirl, I hope something happens for you tomorrow.
Sara, LOL Poor woman, I expect she is feeling as nervous about it all as you are!!!
HC&I, I am so pleased everything is going so well My sister says she gave herself piles when she had her DS because she was trying to push him out, but not push anything out of anywhere else if you get my drift?!! LOL
Calmriver, fingers crossed you will get to meet your LO by the end of the month then
Hattie, sounds like BH to me, they are a good sign of things starting to move
M2T, it sounds like Freya has settled in lovely, and that the feeding is going well
Debbsy, if you go quiet over the weekend we will all know what's going on Feel better soon

Did anyone watch 8 out of 10 cats tonight? I love that program, that bloke, was it Ryhs someone? He was hilarious!!

Well, DH and I have been doing a bit of the 'wild thang' not sure it has done anything but bring my heart burn back though, sure was a fun way to bring it back though

YM, if you don't get chance to get on before you go to the hospital, I just wanted to say I hope it all goes well, and that I will be thinking of you

NatalieJane · 10/11/2006 23:59

Gosh, look at all of those smilies, can you tell I am in a good mood?!!! LOL

DebbsyandBibby · 11/11/2006 03:23

this is getting worse this pressure and pain type pain now going to lie on the sofa..

Calmriver · 11/11/2006 07:40

Baby is small and her growth rate isn't as good as before, so they suggest she might do better out than in. She is bouncing around on my cervix so much at the moment that I think she will try to make it even earlier than the 24th!

where is everyone?
nj have you popped yet? its unusual your not around....

NatalieJane · 11/11/2006 17:15

Well, we have had another go at the sex thing, have walked around town - again - have changed all the beds, moved the sofas and hoovered under them, then sat and played basket ball something or other with DS, and apart from the odd BH absolutely nothing! Have had a couple of minutes here and there of the pressure feeling, but nothing much else, though the baby is still really quiet and now starting to wonder if that is a problem?

YM, you must be feeling so excited and anxious, I am sure it will be fine

Debbsy, I know I keep saying it, but all of these signs are really good and shows that you are getting ready for labour. I know it probably doesn't seem like much, but at least all of the uncomfortable feelings you are having are doing something to bring you closer to it

Mygirl, has anything happened since this morning?

chubley · 11/11/2006 17:20

Hi everyone

Baby Alexander George is here! He was born on Fri 10 November at 1.05pm, after a short labour, weighing 9lb 10!! A little bruiser!

We got home just after 9pm last night so I got a good night's sleep in our own bed after 3 nights of rubbish sleep! He's lovely, a chubbier and darker-haired version of DS1, who is delighted to have a little brother! DD is not sure yet what to make of him... but she's only 20 months.

Good luck to those of you about to pop! Back later...
