Welcome to the 13th April 2015 babies thread!

The stats thread is here and we have a handy spreadsheet here

If anyone wants to join the FB group who hasn’t already, PM me your email address and I’ll send you an invite!

We’re in the home stretch ladies, we've had the first baby, how many more threads can we manage before the last baby is here?

Smogs your post re: Franco Manca made me chuckle - you need to keep up her foodie education, obviously! No dough balls, pah! Wink (I now want Franco Manca for breakfast, thanks...)

daholster · 13/03/2015 07:00

River that is soooooo exciting!!! Good luck! I remember those early contractions, I sent dh to work because I wasn't really sure... And made him drive the hour home again 3 hrs after he'd gone!!!! I hope it all goes beautifully for you Smile Friday 13th, lucky for some! Make sure you stay hydrated. Another Brew...

penguin excited for you too!!! Hope it all goes smoothly.

A day of hanging on the thread for news I think!

Dd is in bed with me watching Peppa having squeaked til midnight then women at 06.30... She is whingey delicate... I think it will be a battle getting her to nursery this morning... Hmm

Chocolate, yoghurt and crisps before 6am is impressive!!! Grin

35+3

smogsville · 13/03/2015 07:01

River - I want some of your zen! We're all thinking of you.

Brixton - I mean seriously. Pizza sodding Express over FM?! Someone needs to take our child in hand.

RL - loving the early morning chocs.

Lauren82000 · 13/03/2015 07:05

Well I don't understand how I'm measuring about the 90th line if I'm measuring correctly. I was 34w and measuring 34/35cm (student mw measured) I thought that was right.

Lauren82000 · 13/03/2015 07:14

Missed a few posts there I blame sleepy eyes. Yay River how exciting no more impatient waiting for you! Hope it goes ok.

Penguin at least something is happening. Here's hoping they get stronger and regular and you don't have to go through the induction process.

daholster · 13/03/2015 07:16

Omg even more babies on the fb page!!! Its obviously a good day for babies Smile

TheBooMonster · 13/03/2015 07:18

We've had a birth in the FB group, think it's Mamayarra if I've got the names right on the list? Born overnight at home!

Ooh river and penguin any Neeeeeews?!

Was up so much last night, normally have 3 wake ups and I'd achieved that by 2am, then DD tried to get up at 4:30, when She started shouting for DH at 6 he got her up, got back into bed and refused to move other than to throw himself round in the bed to get more comfortable so muggins here ended up getting up with DD, which means with him off the next two days he'll be expecting me to get up on Mother's Day with her...

Oh, forgot to say amidst my general terror filled rant last night, midwife explained that the reason they worry so much about reduced movement towards the end is that the placenta fills with gunk and becomes less effective towards the end, reduced movements indicate that the baby is getting less oxygen and directing what they are getting straight to the brain. Which was pretty interesting!

Friday 13th is a good birthday, always gives people a giggle when I mention I was born on the 13th and it was a Friday!

Hope all waiting for babies are okay - see there is another this morning on the Facebook group but not sure who that is on here. Hope all goes okay Penguin and river.

Health Visitor and Mum day today! At least the nursery should be ready on Monday hopefully

skyra13 · 13/03/2015 07:33

Aww CONGRATS To the Susan/Mamayarra on fb with her little one being born in the living room what a shock!!

Good luck River & Penguin!! Love Friday the 13 my lucky day :)

I must say ladies I have had a horrible time!! Had midwife appointment yesterday at 10 and was so close to being sent to the hospital! My BP was 109 oops but was due to stress as I left for appointment my dishwasher flooded so as well as broken heating I had a mini break down!
Midwife said she lucky she can tell I am stressed and brining my own BP up and finally after her giving me a good talking to for 20 min my BP came back down to 80 also bump had not moved in the morning so that had not helped me!!

sigh

BRA SHOPPING WAS USELESS lady in Mothercare would not fit me she said would not fit me for nursing bras until 2 weeks before due date! I am 37 1 week is not going to make a huge difference I would give birth next week!! SO THIS MADE ME VERY ANNOYED!! I ended up buying a pack of sleep bras to use in hospital and will go once baby is born!

Very happy to wake up to some good news about baby's though this morning Grin

Nunkie · 13/03/2015 07:46

Wow folks, it's all kicking off this morning (what with a baby delivered on the lounge floor over on the facebook thread too!)

River - wow! Can only hope to be as relaxed as you when labour starts. I bet you will have a good one as you sound very chilled out! :0D How exciting!

And Penguin - nearly time to meet your baby too! :0D

Squatting I heard that doing a vaginal delivery with breech very much depends on whether there is a midwife around that has experience, as it is something of a disappearing art-form. But good luck - they may still right themselves, but either way you'll have a lovely tiny person at the end of it.
(Also, who knows how many of us 'right-way-uppers' will end up having a c-section due to unforeseen circumstances anyway? :0)

LOL Smogs at the dough-ball debacle. She'll be saying Wagamamas does authentic ramen, next! ;0D Glad she is okay after her tumble! (I have an early memory of falling down some stairs foo - tho I don't think heels were involved. It's amazing how bouncy kids are!)

Daholster Rowan is on our names list too! :0) And I know a Brynley (but with a 'y'). And a Bryn. Both fine gentlemen (if that helps :0D)

PS: why, on our last break as a twosome, am I awake since about 6am? Hmm

PPS: Yes! can I also add my annoyance that Mumsnet app doesn't show pictures or even tell you when there are any? Bloody piss-poor, frankly. Come on MN - nothing wrong with being a bit lo-fi, but that's just weak!! (along with the numerous other things that are wrong with it!)

FiRaffe · 13/03/2015 08:10

I gave up on the mumsnet app and just use the site through my mobile browser. It scales the pages properly and you get to see the pictures too!

daholster · 13/03/2015 08:12

Dh has agreed to allow Monty back on the shortlist Grin

He is also considering Lawrence, Robinson and Jonty...

Wineandchoccy · 13/03/2015 08:20

Good luck River I hope I sound as calm as you when labour starts.

I'm not on facebook but congratulations to Mamayarra

We are going to have to rename the thread to the March thread, these babies are impatient and want to meet the world!

PenguinPoser · 13/03/2015 08:23

Ooh River how exciting hope all goes well - bet you're on the way to hospital now Grin

RL hehe at your dream and baby being delivered by the stork. I am hoping that I wake up in a couple of days with baby in the crib too and might not mind if I have no recollection of how it got there!

I finally got back to sleep until my mum phoned at 7.45! She is away for the weekend and worried incase she missed anything, although she isn't my birthing partner anyway I think she just wants to be closer, but is coming home tomorrow afternoon. Don't feel like anything is happening at the moment so DH has gone to work and I'm going to try get another hours sleep if I can and going to hospital mid afternoon for the pessary.

Skyra sorry you had a bad day yesterday. Different shops will fit you I didn't have a problem in debenhams last weekend but did explain I couldn't wait another 2 weeks as baby would already be here. They were concerned my bump was still quite high for the fitting so maybe that's something to do with it as well. Don't seem to have dropped but apparently head is well engaged.

Exciting news on fb too! Wow it's all getting very real.

skyra13 · 13/03/2015 08:46

I don't think my bun will last till 40 weeks!!
Suppose the women helped in away so I did not waste money but still wanted to get it done going to be living in sleep bra for a while now :)

Good Luck with the pessary Penguin

Turns out my pregnancy shop has closed down and only other place that will fit me in M&S and you have to book to be measured! Confused

Got to make my jelly cake today nom :)

Lauren82000 · 13/03/2015 09:10

Yes it's a right pain having to book to be measured Skyra I'm still in the first lot I bought at about 20 weeks. They really don't fit all that well anymore but having to potentially wait around for hours in town is not my idea of a good time. I don't understand why they don't let you ring up to book. I'm going to be making do with the nursing bras I saved from DD till I can get out and get fitted properly again.

Could really do with nipping to mothercare tomorrow but I've told my mum I'm taking her out for lunch (Even if she has to drive, DH needs the car to take DD swimming) Feel a bit mean saying after lunch can you just drive me to mothercare....Blush

Hips are very bad this morning and I have a pain in my back like someone is stabbing me Confused no idea what that's about.

smogsville · 13/03/2015 09:25

daholster what a shame you're not having twin boys. Monty and Jonty!

Nunkie - don't even go there...

Good luck to all those whose babies seem to be beginning their journeys into the world!

Lauren I'm sure your mum wouldn't mind driving you to mcare.

Boo you are not getting up early on Mother's Day. Just no.

Right had better put phones down and throw these chicken and sausage dishes together. Then there will be no fewer than 30 portions of dinners in the freezer. And I will feel like a bit of a psycho...Blush

daholster · 13/03/2015 09:39

smogs wooooowww... 30! We have about 10 and I'm feeling proud of myself!!!

And twin boys... No... I saw a lady in the assessment unit last week who was 30 weeks pregnant having twin boys... She was worried about movements of one of them (how hard must that be to try not to stress?!) She had a little boy already who was 2... Omg...

Am having my "I'm going to celebrate feeling like my leave is starting (pretty much) breakfast at the local garden centre - after walking dd to nursery cos dh took the car for work with the coats and house keys in... Really hoping I can get in the temperamental side door! The walk has exhausted me. Decaff latte and eggs Benedict may fix this... Tried to take a photo (sad!) cos it looks as yummy as it tastes but my phone isn't having it! Oh well Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 09:40

The lines on the growth chart are based on previous pregnancies now Lauren82000 if you've had any, so it will be based on your dad's birth weight for the centile. My 50th centile line gives a 4Kg baby Shock

Sorry your appointment was a worry and shopping didn't go to plan skyra13 Flowers

Hoping the pessary does its magic for you PenguinPoser and hoping you're nicely into labour now RiverRocks!

Ds1 was due Friday 13th April which was good Friday and ds1 was born on 13th but it was a Monday, but I guess at some point he will have a birthday on Friday 13th Grin

cinnamon and Lauren apparently but depends where you are - I asked my obstetrician about this and she said in our area they are still national averages. Do if right this boy will be much bigger than dd was!

Stupid man is ruining my breakfast with his phone on speaker having some meeting, walking around holding it in front of him like an idiot. Now he has sat for breakfast with it. Feel like telling him to use the phone like a grown up and restore the peace and to stop ruining my nice relaxing breakfast! Why does he need to talk so loud? Oh, because he doesn't have his phone near his mouth and ear like a normal person. What a loser. I don't want to know his business, however important he thinks his working breakfast might be!!! Twat Angry

Lauren82000 · 13/03/2015 09:59

Well I think it's pretty lazy that they are letting breech delivery die out. Just because it's more convenient for them to cut someone open. Difficult deliveries should be practiced more for a more rounded experienced mw surely.

Poor you Daholster I'd be marching up to him and telling him that I really didn't want to hear his business and I think he's a twat.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/03/2015 10:02

Certainly here, if it's your second or subsequent birth and baby is bottom not feet down they will let you try as I have a friend who delivered a breech baby and they knew she was breech.

daholster · 13/03/2015 10:03

Shock just remembered I LOVE Beaumont!!! I would have Beaumont on bc and call him Monty but if he didn't like it as he got older he has the option of Beau.

Think I'll leave that in my head for a while... Maybe til he's born? And maybe he would let me? Unless he looks totally like a Rory Heath Wink Happy days!!!! He's wriggling like a trooper at that, lol!

Better move since I've finished my breakfast but I am still knackered and it's an uphill walk home.. Hmm

TheBooMonster · 13/03/2015 10:03

Yea when I went in yesterday skyra the woman said they don't normally do it till you have two weeks, I told her that I potentially only had 2 weeks and she begrudgingly fit me, but the band feels far too small on the ones I ended up bringing home :/
