Congratulations on all the scan pictures! Eeep! Can't believe it was only a month ago when we were all worrying over scans and scan dates seemed ages away! x

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 21/02/2015 07:58

guavas yes totally agree on the lack of info about what to do if breast feeding isn't easy. I had all sorts of issues with DS he was jaundiced so didn't want to eat, lost too much weight we got pushed into formula top ups, visiting MW made me feel awful with tales of re hospitalisation. Thank god for drop in clinics and MN especially with support from here I finally got him diagnosed with tongue tie by going private, when that was snipped he went from struggling on 25 centile to a constant 75th (still is). We're a great and knowledgeable bunch, if I met Tiktok in real life I would kiss her!

Lastnight The midwife rang me yesterday which threw me a little for a moment. It was only to tell me all my bloods had come back fine, my iron levels were good and to discuss the fact I'm A neg blood group. Wanted to check I knew the implications and make sure if I bumped my tummy I told them straight away. Don't think they test you for pregnancy so wouldn't be able to say you're not.

Jessica32 · 21/02/2015 08:14

Is there a list of all the abbreviations everyone uses? I've guessed most of them enough for things to make sense but there are a lot of D somethings!
I also have never seen the spreadsheet and don't know how it works.

monkeymoonpig · 21/02/2015 08:19

havetea DS has a tongue tie, we begged mw/hv/docs for referral and help but as he was putting on weight no one was interested. Never mind that he was on boob CONSTANTLY as he was never getting full and i nearly had a breakdow over it! It took one wonderful wonderful mw when he was 10 days old to persuade me i wasn't an awful mum for going on bottle (i honestly dont know how i would have managed without her intervention), used Dr Browns bottles for colic but also they have a long teat - instantly he was full and started sleeping better. Happy and healthy and is almost 3. Only just discharged from surgeons care re tongue tie - to have it released now would mean a general anaesthetic (not happening). His speech is fine and no issues with eating, so we have to wait and see how he is in couple of years. Veey frustrating, if only they did something at couple of days old (which they now admit they should have done).
If anyone's little one has a tongue-tie i recommend you fight and fight to have it released, we definitely will of dc2 has one. Bf may be a bit more successful this time round, but if not ive learnt the hard way not to beat myself up over it.
Sorry for long post!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 21/02/2015 08:21

Thank you Jessica! Have been worrying about it so good to hear it might just be a 'yup, everythings ok' call.

There's a list somewhere on the main mumsnet bit of abbreviations. Maybe under 'site stuff'?

Meinthecorner · 21/02/2015 08:52

Tongue tie is something I want this baby to be checked for at birth. My son had it and we had a horrendous 8 weeks until it was actually snipped and he fed properly and went back up the centiles (he went from 75th down to 9th and back again to 75th). GP thought I was 'imagining' the pain....

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 21/02/2015 09:00

Definately monkeymoonpig we were the same v slowly putting on weight, feeding non-stop and I had no pain so Nhs weren't interested. I was in hysterics to my DDad whom just ordered me to make a private consultant appointment, got seen the next day - he says it's the best £150 he's ever spent, love that man!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 21/02/2015 09:03

meinthecorner I've told DH that I'm refusing to leave the hospital until someone experienced has checked him out and I'm not joking! Any doubt and I'll be straight onto private route, not spending 2.5 months feeling like a BF failure again.

Whatabout · 21/02/2015 09:27

tea Wilf and I did get re-admitted on to the noisy and horrible post natal ward. Apparently I shoukd have had a private room due to situation but no. It was hell.

Treaclepie19 · 21/02/2015 09:33

As for the spreadsheet I need to wait til I'm on a computer to repost the link. Will do that once I've had breakfast and stuff.

Had my nuchal scan and bloods yesterday - apparently I'm 13 weeks but we can't work out how!! Scan was so clear, baby looks lovely!
Much less worried now hope I can stay on your thread ladies - new due date is 28 aug!

September 2015 (Thread 5) Bring on the scans! :)
alien11 · 21/02/2015 11:50

Great newstoffeegirl!

sauvblanc21 · 21/02/2015 12:11

Lovely scans laydees Grin xx

Maths88 · 21/02/2015 12:31

Those scans are fab! Can't wait for my 12 week scan on the 4th! I'm having a quick reassurance scan on Monday after the midwife scared me to death by trying to find the heartbeat in Thursday and failing! I know it seems crazy but I need the reassurance and waiting til the 4th would send me crazy!

Ooh am behind again!

Had a scan today! Nine weeks and all looking fab.

lastnight very likely to be a UTI and you just need to get some antibiotics. Same thing happened to be me in my first pregnancy. Very ominous voicemail then just found it was a mild infection!

Guavasforbreakfast really doubt it was the sushi. Most stuff like that is fine. Hope you feel better soon though xx

shinjuku09 · 21/02/2015 13:06

Meant to say congrats on all the positive scans!
