Morning! Going for a hair cit this morning (whoop) and then off to the out laws for a few days. Have come up with an elaborate ruse as to why I'm not drinking. The true bit is that my eczema has really flared up recently. The white lie is that the doctor has put me on an exclusion diet to work out the cause. Last fortnight was no wheat, this fortnight no alcohol and next fortnight is no eggs or dairy. As we're going out for a nice meal I thought it would be best to.avoid alcohol now as then I could indulge in lovely food. Also, pancake day...

Convinced?

SpamAnderson · 20/02/2015 07:22

elley I've lost 11lbs, although I think it's going ton tarts ping back on now as while I'm not fancying many foods, my appetite is certainly back :/ I've put a lb back on which I'm hoping isn't around for long.
I'm convinved I'm having a boy. I have 2 girls and I've had so many issues this time that I never had with the girls. Although when I listen to 'his' heartbeat, it sounds like a girl for some reason! Private gender scan at 16+3 so less than 6 weeks until we can find out for sure!
10+4 today which means 2 weeks til my 12 week scan!
Good luck everyone having scans today!
I'm bloody full of cold this morning, super sore throat so drinking honeys Nd lemon this morning in the hopes of easing it a bit :(

SpamAnderson · 20/02/2015 07:32

sigh 'going to start going back on now'

Treaclepie19 · 20/02/2015 07:42

Private scan today - 9+5 and I'm worried!
Stomach hasn't eased with the lactulose either :( so many cramps!

Not long til your scan now spam :) I still haven't had my 12 week scan appointment come through. Makes me glad I'm having one today.

Good luck treacle! I had to chase mine! If you call the ultrasound department they may have already booked your appointment but not notified you. That's what happened with mine, it was on the computer but no letter sent out :)

Treaclepie19 · 20/02/2015 08:08

Thank you spam :)
I'll give them til Monday then phone.

10 +1 today. Feeling a little bit flat today. 12 week scan isn't until a week on Tuesday. Starting to lose the reassurance of the 8 week scan that I had. Got my first maternity trousers yesterday, they fit so much better. But now, even though I'm not usually superstitious, I'm worrying that I have tempted fate!

TheMidnightHour · 20/02/2015 08:33

Had to chase my scan appointment all round the houses - it had got totally lost. But! I now have one for next week, so: woo!

Would it be insane to plan to spend the second trimester travelling around Europe?

I'm looking for temp work to bring in a bit more cash for beautiful prams and whatnot. Got a call yesterday: one of my more out-there applications is being progressed to the next level, whatever that means. Would love to do the job, can do the job, CV doesn't entirely match IYSWIM.

It's a 3 month contract, on-site at about 6 offices in those 12 weeks -- in 5-6 different countries in Europe. Accommodation & travel paid for, natch. Going ahead so far (might not get to/past interview after all) but wondering if it would be a bit mad to do it. Money's good, work sounds fun, haven't got many symptoms so far...

Kittykitty05 · 20/02/2015 08:37

12 week scan this afternoon, been feeling so little nausea for weeks, but just feel so sick with worry now Sad
Just wish I didn't have to drive so far, I don't normally do long drives but this will be about an hour, mum coming with me but doesn't have her car so I'm driving. Just hope things are ok, I'll struggle to drive home!

Jessica32 · 20/02/2015 08:38

I've bought maternity jeans as 7 pounds in the sale at m&p as my branch closing. I'm only 9+1 but I'm so bloated I can't cope with anything tight on my waste.

Feel really low, emotional and wobbly today. Keep thinking about things that make me sad or anxious. I know it's hormones and I feel like I should be able to turn it off but I can't.

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 20/02/2015 08:57

Well I've reached a new low this morning - spewed in my own eye. Sigh.

GoooRooo · 20/02/2015 09:04

That's actually impressive HaveTea

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 20/02/2015 09:11

Midnight that sounds amazing, I'd do it! Which countries is it? Other than making sure you come back to the UK often enough to 'reset' your travel insurance, I can't see an issue. Presume your language skills are alright?

I'm off to China in a month for 3 weeks then a work trip to Paris, Italy and Greece in June so am pretty relaxed about travel. Think I may just be in the stage where I'll need a doctor's note for flying but should hopefully all be ok.

itssangriaoclock · 20/02/2015 09:13

Good luck to everyone having scans today. I've already given in to maternity wear I'm just too bloated. I heard my little teacake's heartbeat (dh pet name for bump) my friend is a midwife, she said that it may be a long shot but she would try. Took a whole but she found it beating away.

So we have teacake, if you look at pics of 4-5wk embryos it's what it looks like. Especially the M&s ones.

What are your "bump names"

DoctorDonnaNoble · 20/02/2015 09:21

Our nickname (post reassurance scan) is blobby! Because that's what it looked like at an 8 week scan!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 20/02/2015 09:38

Tadpole!

SpamAnderson · 20/02/2015 10:01

Little Jimmy! As DH hopes he will be a he and have a 'little jimmy'...

NatalieBee · 20/02/2015 10:16

Hi girls! Back from my scan! I am 12+5 and have a wriggly little baby! It was jumping on screen and waving and sucking it's thumb! So so special :)
I've attached a pic!

I'm now August 30th but I can stay here right? Grin

Toffeegirl39 · 20/02/2015 10:16

Hi Fluffy lovely to hear from another rural!!
Tallalime I'm having my scan in Cheltenham this afternoon, but likely to have c-section at Glos too, ashad last baby this way and midwife advising it. I'm due 6th Sept I think! I am trying also to move into Worcestershire though..!
hardly slept last night, only just realised this is the Nuchal scan 9 somehow had in my head that was later) and so worried. My mum wasn't very helpful either, saying " oh you don't want a downs baby do you" well actually I might if it came to it!!
So sorry Sebsmummy, awfully sad news, I really feel for you, had a M/C last year. Just be kind to yourself Brew x

Hare5260 · 20/02/2015 10:29

We call ours Blueberry. That was the size it was when we first saw 'her' at our 6 week scan, and it's just stuck. Smile

mrsdos · 20/02/2015 10:39

Natalie I was given edd as 30th August too at early scan, just got to wait for 12 week to confirm!
We call ours the potato, it was the code name given by my sisters when we first told them! It seemed to have stuck! Smile

shinjuku09 · 20/02/2015 11:04

Lovely scan Natalie! How exciting!!

Best of luck for today Treacle.

Messy goodness no reason at all mw should be the slightest bit interested in your house unless you're having a home birth and even then only to look at access at the floor of where the pool will be.

Midnight that sounds amazing! If you feel good so far hopefully you'll carry on feeling well enough to do it if you want to go. Guess it's always a bit uncertain in pregnancy but then you can never guaranteed you won't get ill for example even when you're not pregnant.

Kittykitty05 · 20/02/2015 11:05

My early scan said 30th August too but I'm choosing to ignore that and stick with September date, esp as I'll still be at scout camp at the end of August! (Maybe!)

SpamAnderson · 20/02/2015 11:14

Congrats natalie lovely scan pic!

Panhaggis · 20/02/2015 11:40

I haven't posted for a while as nothing's been happening really - apart from lots of eating and sleeping. Scan is 2 weeks today, I should be 12 + 6 then, and I'm really excited / nervous, it'll be the longest 2 weeks ever.
