I never minded having students around... You learn a lot of things...

Hidingthefear · 27/02/2015 07:34

firaffe I got a free changing bag from vertabaudet and its quite good. Worth an order.

I usually end up chiming in when people are moaning about waiting and tell them not to be so impatient. Did it in the bank once when 2 oldies were moaning about the long cue and there only be in 2 staff on. My response, "it isn't the staff's fault and moaning loudly to the rest of the bank doesn't make the queue move faster" the oldies huffed at me but I got a "well said" from the woman behind me lol

Hope everyone has a good day!

smogsville · 27/02/2015 07:43

Good for you Hiding!

Daholster I think you probably could call in sick for extreme tiredness as a late preggo.

It depends on whether staying at home with your DD might more tiring than going into work though...

skyra13 · 27/02/2015 07:48

daholsterI kind of feel your pain!! In my 2nd trimester my DH snoring became the bain of my life!! I bought ear plugs to muffle the sound after getting fed up of moving to the babies room. I move as I am the one out of work an felt it unfair to wake him.
Now in 3rd tri I have been coping well I have to sleep with quilts on my side of the bed to pad my back out due to back problem when sleeping so I get hot and fussy a lot of the time.

We had a late dinner due to DH having to do a parents evening so he did not arrive home till 8 so made some egg sarnies for dinner bad idea ohh the acid!!

Woke up at 2 with horrible acid :( so I went for a wee as I was awake this then leads husband to needing a wee we both has some peptac and went back to sleep well he did!!!
I swear to dear got it was like there was a fucking fog horn down my ear then he would go really high pitched with his snoring like he was snow bloody white singing to the birds!!!
I have ear plugs in so you can imagine how bloody loud this is! After an hour tossing an turning I hoofed my blanket and pillows up and stormed to the other room huffing.

Husband asks are you ok I shout no can't cope with the bloody snoring! I know it's not his fault and I learned to live with it but god sometimes I could scream!

I get my pillows ready on the sofa bed in babies room, the dog had to come with me as he never stay with DH I have no idea why, I move from one end of the bed to the other 3 Time as can't get comfortable.
Look at phone its now 4.30 I have a bloody dog snoring next to me know instead of husband but at least its quiet.

Next min I'm being woken up by husband at 6.30 do you want a cup of tea............Angry Yes I want a fucking cup of tea!

Husbands comment was I didn't hear a thing!! little shit! Envy

Feeling better now I have tea and crumpets need to function this morning as going for a coffee morning to support friends who are raising money for Kent hospice!

kismac · 27/02/2015 08:14

Sorry to those that had a bad night sleep. I had a really horrible dream about the baby and ended up waking myself up crying. I'd had a really stressful day at work so think it's related to that.

RL20 · 27/02/2015 09:11

Daholster - depending on how bad you feel I would definitely consider calling in sick!
Also can agree with the restless legs thing! I sometimes get it and have had it a few times pre-pregnancy too.

Sorry that you're still getting the pain Lauren. Baby must be very comfortable!

Thanks Moomin. Yes I ended up calling them and apparently I should receive a letter from next week stating my entitlements but she said to keep an eye on my bank account incase any money goes in beforehand. Although I can't see that happening as my official maternity leave date is 3rd March which is next Tuesday, so I can't see that anything is going to be paid for a few weeks yet.
I got told yesterday at the hospital that baby had turned and was now head down (and scan also shown that) but I asked and she did say there's still time for him to move around so I'm not getting my hopes up, seeing as last week at my midwife appointment he was breech, and the time before that he was sideways! Grin

Penguin sorry to hear that. (I've just had to Google what the condition is!).
I'm sure at 37 weeks baby will be absolutely fine and the weight will be just right. Have you been having regular scans because of it? If so have they been writing down and estimated weight?
I noticed on my scan notes yesterday that they had put down an estimated weight and also on my 20 week scan notes too! I hadn't even realised before.

Kismac sorry to hear you had a bad dream. Aren't they the worst when they feel so real Confused Hope you feel ok.

I'm not sure where abouts you all are, but where I am it looks really lovely and Spring-like outside Grin Looks sunny and warm (although I'm sure it probably isn't warm ha ha)

Lauren82000 · 27/02/2015 09:17

Sorry for your bad night too ladies. Mine wasn't too bad in the grand scheme of things.

I'm playing guess the position this morning. Feeling slightly more comfy now even though I still have heartburn but it's not the raging grab the gaviscon heartburn so I'm living with it till it gets worse. Just had some big wiggles and decent punches/kicks all over so this baby is star fishing I think. Grin A great improvement on the transverse/breech of yesterday. My friend told me she could see it changing shape as I was talking to someone apparently it went very conical so it's anyone's guess which way up it was at that point.

BananaToast · 27/02/2015 09:34

I'm another in the bad nights sleep club. Got up for a wee about 4ish (my second of the night) and when I got back to bed baby decided to have a rave in my belly. It felt like he was trying to break free, it was so strong! Kept me up for ages actually jumping at the kicks. No idea which way up he is this morning.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/02/2015 09:35

Sorry for those having bad nights! It's so annoying to be awake when all you want to do is sleep. My restless leg is getting worse and is always worse when I'm really tired. The bad thing is Dh insists on cuddling me and then I get more worried trying to stay still so I don't disturb him. Once asleep last night I stayed there though until my alarm. Babysitting tonight and tomorrow so too late nights (for me anyway, midnight ish).

Hope your students are kind to you PenguinPoser.

LOL daholster at the bath-poo! (A friend of ours once noticed his three children playing in the bath with what they - and initially he - thought was Play-doh. It wasn't. Chaos ensured :0D)

Sorry to hear about your MMC Wine - people can be so insensitive.
And sorry about everyone's crap nights.

Feeling pretty uncomfortable myself the last couple of days - up until now [34+5] I've been largely getting away with eating like a horse, as normal. But virtually overnight, my stomach seems to have been squashed down to a quarter of its normal size.
Anyone else find it weird hearing stomach-rumbling noises coming from around their boob area? :0D

How exciting Penguin and Tiny. And, as a bonus, no 'waters breaking unexpectedly in the super-market' type drama for your guys! (hopefully! ;0)

Nunkie · 27/02/2015 10:46

Squatting, i know what you mean. In the last couple weeks I've had a fair few 'John Hurt-in Alien' moments! Peanut isn't much of a kicker, but they do seem to be expert at pressing outwards as if trying to break out early :0) I think its mainly their bum I'm feeling (and seeing!)

BonjourMinou · 27/02/2015 11:24

Thread 11? THREAD 11! See this is what happens when my laptop melts. Have been following the facebook group on my phone but the mumsnet app is too annoying to use. Am borrowing DH's laptop while DD is asleep, hope I haven't missed anything too dramatic, I let you towards the end of thread 9 I think... going to have a quick scroll now. x

Wineandchoccy · 27/02/2015 11:39

I have a sudden burst of energy, I'm working from home today and needed a catalogue for a customer and now I'm sorting all my work stuff out that is stored in the garage I've thrown all sorts so no doubt when I return to work after mat leave I will be wondering where all my stuff is.
I have a cupboard in the lounge full of work admin so I'm going to empty and shred that this afternoon so that I can store baby stuff in it which is much more important than work Grin

Ahh washing machine is on and making a funny noise it best not break as we can do without that expense 6 weeks before baby due, fingers crossed it's just a zip or something catching inside.

I have Dolly Parton cd on in the garage and baby is bouncing around my husband will be disgusted with its music taste as he despairs at my CD collection.

Thanks for the messages about my MMC moan from last year, what a difference a year makes last April was awful when I found out about my MMC but 12 months later this bundle of joy will be arriving.

I hope everyone gets a good nights sleep tonight I tend to do a couple of ok nights then a couple of rubbish nights but I guess it's natures way of preparing for sleepless nights when the baby arrives.

After that epic post I'm going back to my nesting Grin

BrixtonBunny · 27/02/2015 11:54

Just had my 34 week appt (which for some reason in my area is with a GP rather than midwife), still measuring bang on dates and no causes for concern which is great. Had a chat about birth location and the GP was very encouraging about aiming for a water birth at home if that's what I want. Need to make a decision in next couple of weeks I guess as if I do decide I want a home birth I'm going to have to switch my care to a different hospital as we'll have moved and won't be in the current hospital's catchment for home births.

Am I the only one who is not being given predicted baby weights? They have at no point suggested what weight baby might be now or at birth, or anything to do with centiles.

Two weeks left at work!

Working from home today and I have grand plans for lunch - smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel.

34+2

Sorry everyone is sleeping badly, I am too - I keep telling myself that however bad it is now it will be worse when the baby is born, though I must say I'm very excited about being able to lie on my front / back again!

OP posts:
BonjourMinou · 27/02/2015 12:25

Nope no idea how much mine weighs either, although they are plotting my bump on a growth chart on the back of my notes.

I am zonking out for hours, sorry. I ended up going to bed at 8.15 last night! Blush I wake up at about 6 ish to go to the loo and then have to get up around 6.30 when dd does, unless she decides to give me a lie in.

TheBooMonster · 27/02/2015 12:31

belated happy birthday kis and ooh on the new car!

penguin I found it far simpler to call 111 when I had all the symptoms of a UTI last time than to wrestle with the doctors surgery, so if things start to look suspect I'll give 111 a ring, really need to join a different surgery though, I'm considering going back tot he university surgery, at least that way I can go and sit in a queue and be seen eventually be a doctor...

nunkie they're white blood cells, so they can be indicative of an infection, but normally there's something else there too (which has never been present in my samples, even when I have a raging infection) Mostly the advice I get given is rest, but I'm spending most of my bloody timer eating at the moment and it isn't making much of a difference...

daholster it's fast hat they've got a plan all sorted out for you, and that you don't need any more growth scans, that is at least a few less things to worry about, but do make sure you're taking that iron waggly finger

moomin I did find the labour stories thread us, I read every single page whilst giggling like a maniac!

All of these eviction dates are making things very real and exciting! Two of my FB group ladies lost their waters and went into labour over night, one's having a section today! Nutty to say, but I feel really prepared for going into labour this weekend, DD is at mums, the crib's set up even if it has the wrong mattress at the moment, the bags are packed. Of course that means the baby is staying put...

daholster sounds like you had a fairly awful nights sleep, glad you managed tog et a block of sleep in the end!

I woke up at about 1:30 this morning expecting it to be 5 or 6 because I'd been sleeping so badly and had been up and down to pee and drink so many times, almost cried when I actually saw the time, slept just as badly most of the night, and then DH did his usual up every half hour trick once he and DD had gone downstairs, so I migrated to the sofa in the end, at least that way I could semi-doze and not be groped! DD had gone to mums now though, nowhere is safe buys a chastity belt, puts it on and throws away the key

bonjour and brixton do you not have a chart with weights on in your notes roughly where your scan details are?

FiRaffe · 27/02/2015 12:41

Just back from my 31 week doctors appointment. Signs of protein in the urine and swollen hands so being sent off for pre-eclampsia testing, hope all is okay. Confused

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 27/02/2015 12:57

eeek good luck, FiRaffe!

Siarie · 27/02/2015 13:05

boo you do need a new surgery, my old one I could never get an appointment. Had to ring every day and by the time you got through all the days appointments would be gone.

My new GP I can pick an appointment ahead of time using an app on my phone. I can call the GP on the day and get a doctor to call me back for a phone consultation within 30 mins, or I can most likely get an actual appointment with a random doctor whoever has space on the day. They also do a walk in clinic so you can just go down and wait but i can be a good few hours if you do that, it's more for people who aren't registered.

BrixtonBunny · 27/02/2015 13:10

Fi hope you're ok x

Siarie your surgery sounds incredible!

Boo I don't think I have anything on weight in my notes Hmm

OP posts:
Lauren82000 · 27/02/2015 13:12

Hope it's ok too FiRaffe. But at least its still early if it is that and they can get you sorted.

Boo that's hilarious I wish I had a chastity belt. DH caught me in the kitchen last night and gave me a cuddle, I just gave him a look and he said don't worry I'm not after anything. My face must of been a picture. Turned out to be a really nice long cuddle and just what i needed. Maybe he is finally getting in tune with my raging hormonalness self? Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 27/02/2015 13:25

Yes SquattingNeville, me too with uncomfortable/painful baby movements. I feel like I'm not big enough for him at times.

Have added pic of my graph from midwife notes brixtonbunny, has weeks vs fundal height plotted and other side is estimated weight, you should have something similar. With the extra scans I'm having they take head circ, abdomen circ, femur length and BPD (which I believe is from side to the other of the head) and do a calculation to figure the weight. At my last one he was 2089g +/-309g which is a bit daft, could be 2400 or 1800g which is a huge difference.

I actually had a proper little tummy flutter of excitement about my baby today! It's really happening, soon I'm going to have my very own little baby!! And then the doom sets in about how I'll manage

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 27/02/2015 13:26

You will manage FINE! honestly, you will.
