Oh Wuzz,! Although I might be joining you too!

Bloody, blooming, bloody Spanish Doctors! just back from a n interesting visit to the hospital. I have benn being seen regularly as I have high blood pressure. First it was monthly, then fornightly and today I was told it needed to be weekly. Today they monitored baby took a urine sample and blood pressure. So when they told me it had to be weekly i asked if it could be done at my local clinic, as it takes 40 minutes to get to the hospital, I don't drive and dh has to take the day off work. I was told no!

Anyway on my way out I bumped into an Irish midwife and asked her why. It turns out that i have protein in my urine which has been rising!!!!! Umm nobody told me and now because i am starting to swell and my bp is rising, there is a strong possibility that when i have my next appointment, next week that I will be admitted and induced!!!!!!!!!!!! The doctor makes the decision and it is deemed unimportant whether i know. Can you imagine the shock, if I had turned up next week completely unaware of the fact. I am really going to have to get my arse into gear, just incase.

Piffle · 30/10/2006 19:43

wuzzle I had dilated 2-3cms and m/w did a sweep with dd and I had her 2 days later
We're waiting....

Lucy unreal that you've only found out now you've asked

wuzzlefraggle · 30/10/2006 19:48

midwife rekons the baby will be here before friday fingers crossed...whats the bet i'll have a halloween baby?? lol ever since that sweep the pains have been heavier and the gym ball seems to set them off too, so bounce about ladies!

lucy - thats bad form that they havent bothered keeping you informed properly!! if i were you, id ask them why they didnt think you should have known. im very very

peachyghoul · 30/10/2006 21:03

Cor blimey! Wuzz this is getting exciting and you too Lucy butI imagine you are feeling a bit miffed about them not telling you about the protein. I agree with what everyone's saying!

NatalieJane · 30/10/2006 21:07

God the longest I have spent away from the computer all weekend, and we get news!!

Sorry it hasn't been all over for you Wuzz, I was so sure you would come back with great news.

I can't stay, DH is waiting to put a film on, I am in town tomorrow morning but will be about tomorrow afternoon if you want to pass the time a bit?

Have a good night xxx

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 30/10/2006 21:22

yeah it is getting exciting peachy !! and all evening the pains have been getting pretty heavy (i have to breath through quite a lot of them)

nat - yeah i'll be online tomorrow afternoon i expect (unless i go into labour and have to go to hospital or something, i'll make sure to put a quick post on tho) lol, see, i said that i didnt want the baby to arrive b4 halloween lol and now whats the bet she'll be a halloween baby or something?

NatalieJane · 31/10/2006 00:59

I told you you had cursed it!

No, seriously, I am really feeling for you, I expect you are feeling so down and frustrated at the moment I suppose the only good thing about it is that if you are still hanging on tomorrow night (though it doesn't sound likely!!) at least you can vent all those pent up horrible violent murderous emotions on the trick or treaters LOL I am of course only joking, a bucket of water would probably see them off just as well

Well, I have 4 weeks and a day, or 29 days, or 696 hours, or 41,760 minutes, or 2,505,600 seconds left until my official scan due date, not that I am counting or anything...! I am getting really fed up of the drovel that is on telly past midnight

jabberthefriendlyghost · 31/10/2006 06:04

Oh, my I just saw this thread! I have got to start doing a search under my name

So it looks like I almost missed wuz's labor getting started! I will be so if you have a Halloween baby. It's my favorite holiday. Would love to plan big Halloween birthday parties every year

Natalie Jane, it sounds like we are of like minds! I'm also having quite a bit of insomnia. Due 5 weeks from yesterday so I'm at that "anxious to meet the baby" stage, but we still have quite a bit of work to do on the nursery, plus of course he needs to cook a bit more so I'm trying to be patient.

I go in on Wednesday to do an expectant parent interview with the pediatrician. She is supposed to be amenable to alternate vax schedules, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Baby shower is this Sunday, but I feel like I have already bought so much...couldn't stand it really. I had loaned out ds's baby things then they didn't get returned so I went a little overboard replacing them - another

.

laughalot · 31/10/2006 08:34

Wuzz she will be here soon but in the mean time enjoy you and your dhs company its all going to change for the better though.
Lucy bloody hell hope all goes well if you go quiet we know where you are.

HopingCat · 31/10/2006 14:13

Sorry you are still waiting Wuzz, but at least things feel like they are happening.
Lucy - it must be so frightening to be in a country where they don't even try and explain things to you. We all complain about the health service here, but maybe we should be counting our blessings.
I'm seeing mw today and think it might be time to start asking about sweeps and induction. I'm due at the weekend so may not go overdue, but I'm at the stage now where I'd like to know when the last date I could still be pregnant will be.

lucy5 · 31/10/2006 14:19

Hi all, i've calmed down today, just wondering if they have anymore surprises up their sleeves, like twins!!!!!!

NatalieJane · 01/11/2006 15:55

Sorry I haven't been around much, there just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day recently (and that is with me being up till god knows what time in the morning!!)

Wuzz, you have gone very quiet again, are you in labour this time, or are you just hiding out again?!!

How is everyone else doing?

pinkranger · 01/11/2006 21:11

sorry to gatecrash but ws just wondering if trace is ok asi havent seen her for a whilex

Piffle · 01/11/2006 21:12

I'm worried about Trace as well. so wanting things to be ok for her this time....

NatalieJane · 02/11/2006 09:12

I think she would have said something if something has happened, even if it was a goodbye post, she knows there are people on here who care about her, and I don't think she would worry us all for no reason. Perhaps she is just having computer problems, or something?

HopingCat · 02/11/2006 19:10

Hi all,
Just checking in to say I'm still here at 39+4. I'm getting really impatient now! Hope everyone is doing ok whatever stage you are at.

laughalot · 03/11/2006 14:39

Any news yet wuzz

peachygirl · 03/11/2006 19:22

am sending poative thoughts to you wuzz and to you hoping cat, fingers crossed it all gets going for you soon!

NatalieJane · 03/11/2006 20:52

Still no news? Come on Wuzz, what are you playing at

I don't think HC will mind me saying that she posted on the AN thread earlier, she had been having contractions since 4 this morning and we've not heard anything since so it seems the race is on between Wuzz and HC!!

Good luck girlies

I ordered my birthing pool yesterday, 3 and a half weeks to go, getting pretty scary now!!

OP posts:
peachygirl · 03/11/2006 21:03

Hi again, sorry terrible spelling 'positive thoughts' !!
OOOHHH it's getting exciting

K1K2 · 04/11/2006 15:52

Hi Guys

Like you I have been searching the threads for Trace and wonder if things are ok with her as she came on the due in June 2007 briefly, same as me and its been quite ever since.... She kindly remembered me when I came back after a break on TTC thread (after a mc) and in looking here I see some familiar names. Gosh and how time has flown ,when some have popped , are about to/or soon to! Good luck to all of you, whatever stage you are at. I've got a while to go just 9 wks tomorrow and keeping the faith. (May be she has changed her name?) Hope the next post is from Wuzzle with the good news!x

peachygirl · 05/11/2006 10:17

K1K2 I have sent her an email

NatalieJane · 05/11/2006 12:20

Let us know if everything is OK please Peachy

Well, although no news as such from anyone, Wuzz said they would start the induction process on Friday if she hadn't already gone on her own, so either way hopefully the next posting from her should be good news and HC still hasn't returned so I expect her next posting to be the same good news

We have had a few more births on our AN thread, some homebirths as well which is very encouraging for me!! TENS machine arrived yesterday so I am only waiting on the pool and then for Wednesday to come around (that is when the midwives will be on call for me) and that is it, we are ready! 24 days till EDD, the count down is really starting to kick in now!!
