Hi everyone, it's half term next week so I'll hopefully catch you in the daytime. I'm off to the baby show at Earls Court with my mum tomorrow.

NatalieJane · 22/10/2006 22:39

Hello

I hope you had a good time at the baby show Peachy, very of you!

Well, we have had the first baby born on our AN thread, and the second, and it sounds like the third is on it's way as we speak! Can't believe we got till the 21st Oct of a due in November thread, before hearing of any baby news, and then there is all of a sudden three!!!

We have completely finished the baby's room today, I am shattered and having very painful contractions again, I think it is going to be a very long night for me again. I wouldn't mind if it was actually the start of labour, at least I could think that the contractions were doing something, but at the moment it is just all the pain of it, for nothing, except another sleepless night!

And, we have decided to go ahead with the home birth, so I will have to call the midwife on Tuesday (it is the next time she is at the GP's, I can ring there then instead of chasing her all over Lancashire), a bit scared, OK if I am honest, I am absolutely sh*tting it!! But, it is the only way with the situation with DS.

Anyway, I hope you all had good weekends, TC xxx

Hello. I am due on the 5th of December, can't wait, I am HUGE and have had enough. I don't know the sex but suspect it's a boy. I can't believe how quickly our pregnancies have gone.

OOh wuzz, how exciting!!!!!!!!!

NJ sorry you are having a hard time, people are so selfish!

lucy5 · 23/10/2006 10:52

What happened to laughalotI haven't seen her around for ages?

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 11:14

Morning

Told you it won't happen now you are waiting for hallowe'en to be over Wuzz... you are a mad woman!

Lucy, Lota popped her head into the old thread last week, everything is fine, I think she said she was 28 or 29 weeks, somewhere around there.

And yes some people are incredibly selfish, MIL still hadn't rang so we thought we would go and see her, see how she reacted and stuff, absolutely nothing, didn't once even mention the fact that she couldn't be bothered to watch her grandson for a few hours, or that I hadn't had the baby already, in fact she didn't say a single thing about the fact that I am even pregnant!! Not even to ask if everything was OK. It was a very highly charged visit!!

OP posts:
laughalot · 23/10/2006 12:56

Hi lucy im here glad you are keeping well not long to go now it must be very exciting not knowing what you are having, how is sunny spain ?

Nat j HOME BIRTH bloody brave however I fully understand why you are doing it what with the dreaded mil, if I lived closer I would have had little thomas for you .

Wuzz good luck with everything I was 10 days late so lets hope you are quicker than I was.,however this time if I go 10 days early it will be new years eve that will be my luck all over.

Hope everyone else is ok im off to the hospital tomorrow to have a stupid glucose test as well as my anti d injection so im dreading that.

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 13:01

Hiya Lota I know, I am practically shitting it about the home birth, but we don't have much choice thanks to MIL bitch from hell - sorry! I feel better now

You might find that they don't actually give you the Anti-D tomorrow, when I went for the diabetes test they took some blood and said they would check that to see if they needed to give me Anti-D or not, as it turned out I didn't need it - or at least I haven't had it!! LOL

How is it going with you? Is your DS in nursery yet?

OP posts:
laughalot · 23/10/2006 13:16

Nat aidan starts nursery next september he only turned 2 in july the little monkey. I was just reading your thread with the births on them its so scary that nov babies are now on there way. We are in the process of ordering bedroom furniture for ds at the moment we are starting his room soon he is going in the big bedroom and lauren will have the nursery. Hope I dont need no anti d in the morning, how long was the test ?

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 13:26

Cor, was it only July he turned 2? It seems like ages ago... strange everything else seems to have gone so quickly!!

The diabetes test was supposed to be about 2 and a half hours I think, except that they were running late that day, and then when I had to go back for the second bit, it took them another 40 minutes or so to actually see me, so it ended up taking till lunch time, but aside from being starving hungry and so so so thirsty for anything to drink, it wasn't too bad. Lots of wee samples and bloods taken but I'm not bothered about needles.

HopingCat · 23/10/2006 13:30

Hi everyone.
I hadn't forgotten you all. I don't get on here much now that I'm on maternity leave. When I was at work I spent more time on mn than working, so am getting withdrawal symptoms now.

Wuzzle - are you getting lots of comments off people, like 'still here' and 'haven't you had that baby yet?' I had my first comment yesterday, and I'm 2 weeks from due date. It could get quite annoying if I go overdue. Have you had any signs at all that things may be about to happen? My LO keeps having intense periods of movement and feels like he or she is about to burst out. Have you had anything like this? It's weird getting head butted in the 'bits'!

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 13:41

HC, Due to the way I grew so much in the first few months of pregnancy, I was having the same 'when is that baby due' and 'you look so uncomfortable' and the classic one of 'Awww, a summer baby is lovely' I used to get so embarressed to turn round and say, well actually he isn't due till Novemeber, and now, because I have been so obviously pregnant for so long I get everyone being very helpful saying things like 'You have been pregnant for ages' 'You poor thing' and 'It can't be much longer now, surely?' which is very helpful - not!!

The feelings you are having down below could be the baby's head, or the hands, or just because of the pressure that is building up now. I don't think it is any sign of labour, sorry

I think my LO must have long toe nails, I can fel them scracthing as he moves, it isn't very comfortable!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 23/10/2006 13:46

hi ladies

HC - yeah, im sick of those comments lol. the worst had to be the phone call every single day without fail from my grandparents (i have remedied the situation ). yep ive been having some signs that things are on the move (lots of period pains low down the bump, feeling like ive been kicked in the crotch 24/7, that snotty looking mucusy stuff (eeeww) and feeling like the babys head is very very low down. god, only 2 weeks for you left!!! its flown

laughalot - good to hear from you hows things been re the pregnancy?

nat - lol, im honestly prepared to be horribly uncomfortable for the week over my dates (then making it halloween over, haha)so as to avoid being here with a newborn on halloween. madness??? oh yes lol either that or it had better piss down with rain

me and dh are going shopping for a stock up food shop tonight...joy. the more i go out, the more i panic that my waters will go

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 13:53

LOL Wuzz, seriously I would rather risk pissing some of the neighbours off by yelling at any kid that even tries to walk up our drive than go through an extra week of this!

And, my sister is still ringing anything up to 4 times a day, and texting every hour to see if anything has happened, it doesn't matter how many times I have said I really don't think anything is going to happen, and I would let her know as soon as it does... mum gets back early hours tomorrow though so hopefully she will stop feeling quite so 'responsible' and I might be able to fully charge my mobile for the first time in two weeks!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 23/10/2006 14:05

4 times a day with a txt on the hour???? oh my god, you must have flawless patience!
just read aswell that you paid a visit to your mil...she cant have any kind of a concience. im very surprised that she didnt even mention the pregnancy either! was your dh ok? some people eh?

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 14:11

It get's worse with my sister, if for whatever reason I can't reply within five minutes, she then rings, and has even rang my DH on his work phone to see if he knows why I've not answered, and then he rings all in a panic.... hopefully mums return will mean my sister will let up a bit!

As for MIL, like I said she didn't even manage a quick light hearted 'so is everything OK then?' or 'How are you feeling' absolutely nothing. DH is still really angry, but we have decided that for as long as DS wants to see her for, we can't do very much. Cowbag!!

OP posts:
wuzzlefraggle · 23/10/2006 14:15

just play ignorant with her then nat...pretend that you dont give 2 shits about her and whats hapening in her life either or something. really am sorry that its turned out the way it has with her...its true what they say...you cant choose your family

theres a really interesting thread bout breast feeding on the pregnancy boards. i want to bf, but have had some of the same worried as the poster on there. what about people (close family etc) who find it uncomfortable and dont want it done around them etc

NatalieJane · 23/10/2006 14:29

Wuzz, I don't need to pretend not to care about her, I gave up trying to be her friend a long time a go when I realised that she doesn't want friends, she wants people to run around after her and make her feel good about herself, I am just not like that, so there has always been a bit of an unspoken ridge between us, DH is fully aware of it, but I have always been civil and ignored the bits of her I don't like for DS's sake, but this has just taken it a step to far. When we went on Saturday, I wouldn't say I sat and sulked, but I didn't get involved in what she was moaning on about, or really even take much notice, I just played with DS

I know what you mean about BF-ing in front of people, I didn't mind one bit if someone - anyone - walked in whilst I was feeding DS, but I absolutely hated having to get my boob out to start feeding him if there was anyone there! I even used to make an excuse to get DH out of the room before I got them out! LOL I don't know why, I certainly wasn't ashamed or anything, I think a lot of it was that DS used to pull this face that I loved to bits, and I wanted to keep it 'our' thing! LOL How silly does that sound now?!!! LOL
